  1. Just re: the line being good enough at run blocking- to be frank they weren't any good at it last year either. If you exclude Allen's 2020 rushing yards, which I think is fair, the Bills finished dead last in total rush yards and very near the bottom in terms of YPA. For context, removing Lamar Jackson's rush yards from the Raven's total still locks them in at 9th best in the league. They were a decent unit in pass pro last year, imo made to look significantly better by Allen's ability to avoid pressure and extend plays. But they have been very poor at run blocking for the better part of two years now.
  2. lmao I didn't even read the OP wtf even is this
  3. Possibly. I think Allen would have succeeded in about 30/32 other franchises, personally. I don't know that I'd say the same for McDermott and Beane without him. That's why they had to move up to get him, which is to their credit. But to act like few wanted him is revisionist...for a while he was being talked about going #1 overall.
  4. My comment was less a knock on Beane or McDermott than it was to illustrate Allen’s importance to the franchise.
  5. I think Beane and McDermott both owe their extensions to Allen tbh. Without him standing on his head the past year and a half this is a sub-.500 team under their management the last 4 seasons, and they're likely both looking for their next team at the end of this year.
  6. I'm not sure Palmer has seen tape of the INT he's referring to. If he had he would have known that was the design...empty shotgun set and a seven step drop lol. It's either a first down, incomplete, or an INT which is not much worse than a bad punt. The two checkdowns were each run short of the line of scrimmage and would have lost yards most likely.
  7. You think Taysom Hill is exactly the kind of player that the Bills defense will struggle against?
  8. It’s part of his game that needs some work He’s still pretty green
  9. Don’t worry until it hits 7 any time the line crosses 3 or 7 something is up
  10. Good thread, but you neglected the very important hydration component as it relates to sideline personnel. I have it on good authority that the Bills water dispensing program is rife with nepotism when it comes to their hydration specialists…is the team’s performance suffering as a result of this oversight? Need more eyes on this imo.
  11. He has been. This is not a low-effort play:
  12. There’s a decent amount of room between panicking and making excuses and imo this strikes a nice balance.
  13. I would be interested in seeing your list of guys who would have this team at 6-4. Specifically which other ton of QBS would have won the Chiefs game.
  14. No. Too much $$ on the line to put that kind of tape out there.
  15. And not to keep beating this drum but when you lack a credible threat of a run game the defensive line can play much more freely...the offensive line's inability to run block in any meaningful way is imo the largest contributing factor to our struggles on offense.
  16. I don't think the author gets his conclusions right, but that's a little beside the issue I know...the idea that there are a lot of underneath/short routes to be exploited a la Brady's Patriots doesn't ring true to me. To my eye, everything underneath w Daboll is a dig or curl with very little room for YAC which makes those throws less appealing...McDaniels got his guys in space moving forward, Daboll doesn't seem to have the same eye for the short stuff imo. Especially now with Beasley obviously limited by his injuries.
  17. The author uses this video as evidence for what you're suggesting Allen should be doing: https://streamable.com/rl02sf This is an empty set WITH A SEVEN STEP DROP! There are two checkdown options but it's obvious the intent on this play is for a deep pass...there is a reason he holds the ball for a long time and his short passes are dump offs: that's largely what's being called/available.
  18. Too hyperbolic. This is a solid albeit flawed 6-4 squad firmly planted in the AFC playoff race. Every contender right now has a bad loss.
  19. It took a season, but defenses finally figured out how easy it is to defend an offense that cannot run block.
  20. Hasn’t changed Super Bowl
  21. If Collinsworth likes Herbert this much wait until he sees this Josh Allen guy
