Shanahan has to be significantly higher than McDermott. He's done more with much less. -

We definitely disagree on that -
Most important developments for the 23-24 season

It will come down to how well the offensive line plays Even average oline play will be an improvement -
Hopkins released by Arizona (7/16: signed by Titans)

I just don't see the downside I guess I think it would be another mistake to spend another year hoping Davis becomes a reliable wideout and a rookie TE plus Dawson Knox can become catalysts for a SB run. Seems very unlikely imo -

Nobody outside this website would confuse those guys you just listed with a strong cast of wideouts lol -

Are McCarthy and McDermott really so dissimilar to you Like where do you have LaFleur, Vrabel, Shanahan etc, you think McDermott is so clearly better than these guys -

There are 9 NFL HCs who have actually won Super Bowls, let alone played in one...how do you put him anywhere higher than 10th -

I don't see how you could interpret the Allen years postseason results, which is basically how we judge HCs, as 'good' Good would be winning or short of that at least playing in a Super Bowl -

Reid/Mahomes and Taylor/Burrow who already once took them on and beat them for a SB berth So if Allen>Burrow then Taylor >>>McDermott He's not a bad coach, he's middling -
lol Ravens fans did this w Lamar Jackson last season too and there was literally nothing to it not a story

Yes I tend to agree w this assessment but it's not going to win you any spots on a who's the better coach list unfortunately -

GoBills808 replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes I think he's a little lower but I'd put him in that mid tier of coaches and you could say he's anywhere from 14-22 and I would probably agree w that -

Well I can't put him above guys w a super bowl And he's really only 13tt if you just put him at the top of the rest People laugh at Vrabel but imo McDermott is just Vrabel w a Josh Allen -

What's arguably more fascinating is how such an allegedly good coach (by this thread and comment) in McDermott can't sniff the big game w one of if not the best quarterback in the league -

Yes like most best of lists it has a lot of methodology issues But the overall thrust I have to agree with Because he made Tua a legit MVP candidate -

Bengals at least got there. The Bills under McDermott haven't gotten close Correct on both counts -

Belichick Reid Shanahan McVay Tomlin Carroll Pederson Siriani Taylor McCarthy Harbaugh Payton Can't really put him above any of these guys and none of the rest have anything close to a Josh Allen so I think it stands -

GoBills808 replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't necessarily agree with or even particularly care about the ranking tbh but the point has to be made- very few HCs in the NFL have a QB like Allen. Reid does and he's turned that into two SB wins. Taylor has a reasonable facsimile and has made a Super Bowl and two AFCCGs in the last couple years. McDermott has prime Josh Allen and has largely floundered in the postseason, so having him in the bottom half of NFL HCs is fair if we are considering talent/output ratio -

I think I would rather have Mike McDaniel as HC than McDermott tbh -
That's exactly the same as Daboll, except Daboll's offense was more inconsistent and relied on Allen more.
