I actually don't think it's all that relevant in evaluating players in our defense tbh. For example vs the run our LBs are often tasked w spilling blocks and so our safeties/Taron Johnson are going to have lower average depth of tackle vs their peers which is less a function of their quality of play than it is our scheme Likewise Edmunds has a much deeper box than a traditional MLB, so average depth of tackle isn't going to necessarily reflect on his play either

The problem with the NFL has long been that they're so ridiculously popular they can afford to be short sighted, and this is yet another example.

They also have a contract that I'm pretty sure none of us have read.

The run defense is a non issue. If the offense doesn't have an off day that game script from Green Bay will get them run out of the building 10/10 times.

Packers didn't want to get blown out. They were running heavy sets and trying to keep the score respectable. Our offense wasn't polished enough off a bye to punish that strategy. It happens.
