I worked at Moog Music when they were in Williamsville - best job ever! There was a guy who tested keyboards, and he used to play Pictures of an Exhibitionist (as he called it) on his keyboard, but he did it to a POLKA beat. First time I heard it, I actually fell out of my chair laughing! It was marvelous. The guy, Dan, was brilliant. Keith Emerson used to visit when he was in town, but I never got to see him. Later, Moog moved to Walden Ave to gear up for a bigger manufacturing effort. At that point, the company lost the family atmosphere that made working there so great.

I love the Johan Strauss waltzes, and his other stuff. And Offenbach - there is a Can-Can theme which is great. I don’t listen too often, but enjoy it when the time is right.

So many great songs from Tom Lehrer: So Long Mom, I’m Off to Drop the Bomb The Vatican Rag (“genuflect, genuflect, genuflect”) and many more... Such a wit - much needed in the 1960s. He was a great one, pulling out those impossible rhymes, like “contrapuntally” with “Brinkley and Hunt-a-ly”.

That is beautiful, @Sojourner. Nothing is more important than your kids. As kids, we asked our dad why he didn’t go bowling with the guys from work. He said his kids were his hobby, and he spent time with us. He was a great Dad! Keep up the good work. I wish there were millions more fathers who felt that way.

Cain had some pretty good return skills in UFL. I hope they try him at KR.

I went to my 40th HS reunion some years ago. I ran into a guy I had known in grade school. He said to his wife, “Hey honey, watch this” and he proceeds to throw me a math problem - what’s 127 times 43? I think I got it right but nobody was checking. He remembered that I had been the math whiz back in grade school. That was such a cool moment - it really made my day!

Yep. I saw the Stones in Memorial Auditorium in June 1966. It was hard to tell what song they were singing because the screaming was so loud. That must have been your sister and her friends!

I saw one Beatle way back when. I was on my way to the Toronto Rock n Roll Revival in Fall 1969, when the radio said John Lennon and his friend Eric Clapton were flying in to play the festival. Sadly, Yoko was included in the Plastic Ono Band, so some of the music was awful. But it was fun to see John Lennon.

Spanos Street in San Diego? They haven’t renamed it yet. LOL

There was a band called the Buffalo Beatles way back in 1965 or so. Legally, they had to change their name, the became The Rogues. The lead guitarist had a Gretsch Country Gentleman guitar and a Vox Super Beatle amplifier - just like George Harrison used. That was a real wow factor back then. They were very talented. I don’t know who they were,but they were great.

I have been around here since 1994 when I lived in Ohio. Changed my name when I moved to another state. On Sep 11, 2001, I logged in here first thing in the morning and found out the news. Lots of fun here, Belinda and all those folks. I was in an old thread the other day, and came across the poster John From Riverside, who used to be John From Hemet. Sadly, John is no longer with us. But not forgotten.
