  1. Wasn't there once a poster named sassybillsfan, or something like that?
  2. My favorite is a peanut butter egg from some company named Zitner's that's only out around Easter. The furthest north I've found them is South Jersey, so I don't know if they're available in the Buffalo area. I know I can't find them in NYC.
  3. As long as the decisons are being made by McDermott and/or Beane, it's a big improvement.
  4. Damn it, I really thought we had a good shot of signing the guy.
  5. Well said. I actually think Bills fans have more reason to be optimistic than they've had in a very long time, as things are being done differently than they've been done for a very long time. Maybe it will work, maybe it won't, but at least it's not the same old same old that hasn't worked for a decade+. We don't have to worry about a power struggle from day one. No more stories about our HC storming out of the draft room after Whaley trades multiple picks for a WR, or having his 2nd string QB traded away for future late round picks to force EJ up the depth chart. Whether or not this works remains to be seen, but I'll always be grateful to McDermott for the change he forced.
  6. Say what you will, but we've come a long way from hiring a guy from down the hall because our owner & President don't recognize any of the other names. Love their new Costanzaian approach of doing everything the opposite of how they did it before.
  7. I always saw Manning as a coach after he retired. He was like his own OC on the field.
  8. I don't care about Brandon as long as we hire a GM with more sense than to turn to him for advice on football matters.
  9. Right on. And if you're constantly making up excuses for people (Whaley, Rex, etc.), & then the Bills fire them, I guess that means your standards are lower than OBD's. But as long as you're positive about it...
  10. Doors opened @ 7pm, but there were 3 bands before Anthrax. We went in ~10pm as Killswitch Engage was wrapping up, then half of the crowd filed out when they were done. Anthrax went on ~10:30 & wrapped up ~11:45. I thought they'd play longer since they're from nyc, but they made the most of their time.
  11. I once left my contact info on the Bills' site when I was thinking about buying seasons & got a call from a guy who accused me of not being a fan because of where I lived. When I suggested that he ask me some trivia to test my fandom, I got a dial tone. I'm pretty sure it was Russ Brandon.
  12. Meh. Not a fan of either, but I think those guys were empowered by Whaley's incompetence. In Brandon's case, Whaley probably saw him as a mentor of sorts & sought his input, as ridiculous as that sounds. It looks like we're going to hire a competent GM this time, which should limit the harm those guys can do on the football side.
  13. Now that EJ, Whaley, and the Ryan brothers are gone, I don't really have anything left to complain about.
  14. I'm pretty sure he was talking about Xavier Omon.
  15. Cancel the GM search, fire McDermott, bring back Doug & Rex. And Rob, for that matter. My Bills fandom should've been hanging by a string for the last 10 years or so, as I've hated pretty much every major move they made. This newly adopted Costanzian philosophy of doing everything the opposite of how it was done before is a thing of beauty. It's a great time to be a Bills fan.
  16. I think the similarities between EJ and Doug are pretty remarkable. Both were selected for positions beyond their capabilities, and it was thought that they would learn on the job. Regardless of the reasons, neither of them ever improved to the level that was needed. At some point, I think most people realized that the excuses they made for EJ were pretty silly. In time, the same will be realized about Whaley.
  17. The way I see it, they're owning up to their mistakes. Good for them, and for us.
  18. The Pegulas haven't been the NFL too long, so they don't know what works. Figuring out what wasn't working was the next best thing, and a good first step. Either way, no more tuna on toast for Terry. Chicken salad, on rye, untoasted... and a cup of tea.
  19. IMO, your spinning of this into people hating Sammy represents the most irrational & emotion-based view in this entire thread. It's business.
  20. The Bills' recent decision-making seems to have been geared toward asking Whaley what he would do, and then doing the opposite. Pegula: "What's that, Doug? You want to hire Lynn, who won't fight you for power? OK, we're hiring McDermott, who doesn't want to deal with you at all. You think we should get rid of Tyrod Taylor? Cool story; let's re-sign him. Want to draft DeShaun Watson in the first? Nah, we'll take Nathan Peterman in the fifth. Want to pick up Sammy's option because of how much you invested in him? No, we're tired of making moves to help you save face." Love it all. I think we're on the right track for the first time in ~17 years.
  21. The Bills don't have $13mm worth of confidence that Sammy will stay healthy and fulfill his potential. A few foot surgeries will do that. It's a far cry from knowing he'll never heal. Risking $13mm if he fails instead of $4mm if he doesn't is not the smart move.
  22. This will be the first time in 11 years that our GM will come from outside the walls of OBD. How have the last 11 years been? I'm ready for a change.
  23. The same guy who's still his QB. I'm in total agreement with you on this one. Scary, right?
