  1. He lost 3 NFC championship games in a row before that. I was hoping for a 4th so I could throw that back at my Eagles fan friends whenever they brought up our 4 straight Super Bowl losses.
  2. Mayock has us taking him: Buffalo could go in a lot of directions here, including QB, but Foster's tape is so good that it reminds me of Luke Kuechly's. There are off-field concerns with Foster, but his tape is awesome.
  3. The Bills will trade up into the top 5 for OJ Howard, leaving little doubt who's in control of the draft.
  4. The Bills' approach to firing their GM has been pure genius over the years: keep him around for the draft, let someone else make the picks, then fire the GM & blame him if the picks don't work out.
  5. Yeah, I'm afraid so. Osweiler's subpar play wasn't that caused Houston to trade him away to the Browns at the start of the NFL year — it was a physical altercation between Osweiler and Texans coach Bill O'Brien. According to sources with knowledge of the situation, Osweiler reacted negatively when O'Brien asked him to start the second half of the Texans' Week 17 game against the Titans. Backup-turned-starter Tom Savage had injured himself on a quarterback sneak in the second quarter and was told at halftime he wouldn't be able to finish the game, requiring Osweiler to finish. Apparently, Osweiler said O'Brien was only playing him because he needed to — not because he thought Osweiler was the better option at quarterback. Osweiler got up to leave the conversation, at which point O'Brien threw out an arm to stop him, prompting the quarterback to act like he was being "held hostage." That incident, according to PFT, sealed Osweiler's fate in Houston.
  6. My favorite Osweiler story is the one where Tom Savage gets injured, Osweiler needs to go in, and he starts a fight with his HC, saying "You're only playing me because he's hurt!" What a B word.
  7. No, I was assuming it was weed. It may have been a hasty assumption on my part.
  8. I bet no NFL RB has ever jumped over a guy from whatever the hell that orange team was!
  9. One day, common sense will prevail & NFL prospects won't have to worry about such nonsense. Until then, better to exercise a little bit of restraint. It's not nearly as damning as it once was, but still not too smart.
  10. That may have been the worst highlight video I've ever seen.
  11. I must say, so much for the Bills letting other teams set the market so they could sign Mike G to a better deal.
  12. Yeah, I know. I'm hoping it was a 2015 Kiko-type situation, where he either wasn't fully healed, or wasn't yet confident that he was fully healed.
  13. ...if we get the version that looks like this: I realize it's a highlight film, but still...
  14. The dude looked TERRIBLE last year. I'm not saying he could never get better, but still... TERRIBLE.
  15. The 2nd round tender is $2.7mm. If they decide to pay him $4mm this year instead, it would mean that Whaley gambled & lost. If the goal was to get a 5th round pick instead, then it was a job well done.
  16. He'd take a DE or LB; that's what he's done the 3 times he's had a pick @ 13 or higher. He took Jerod Mayo @ 10 in 2008. Haason Reddick.
  17. If the Bills were interested in keeping Gillislee, it was extremely dumb not to place the 2nd round tender on him. Matching the offer now would shine a spotlight on the latest of Whaley's bad decisions.
  18. If Whaley matches Gillislee's offer, there goes our Percy Harvin money.
  19. I don't think it's that people ignore it; I think they just see it as being totally irrelevant. Do you honestly believe that Whaley wouldn't have taken EJ if it was his call? His words and actions have made it clear that he wanted EJ, regardless of who had the final say. Doug even went so far as to say that if EJ didn't work out, he'd be looking for a new job. And his actions regarding EJ (trading up for Sammy, trading Cassel, possibly undermining Taylor) after he was on the roster were far more detrimental to the team than the pick itself.
  20. If you have a job that's far above your pay grade, you might put up with a lot to keep it. It's not likely that Whaley will ever sniff another GM job after this one, so I can understand him wanting to hold onto it for as long as he can.
