  1. If the Bills' plunk down ~$13mm for Sammy's 2018 option & he performs up to that standard in 2017, would he play out 2018 without a new contract? I say not; it's a near certainty that the Bills would give him a new deal at that time. If the Bills don't pick up his option & he proves worthy of it, the Bills would find themselves in the same position of being able to work out a new deal with him. They just wouldn't be on the hook for $13mm if it doesn't work out.
  2. That makes sense in theory, until you look at the list of 2018 Bills' UFAs: TJ Yates Kyle Williams Preston Brown Brandon Tate Corey Brown Joe Banyard Seantrel Henderson Cyrus Kouandjio Patrick Lewis Michael Ola Jerel Worthy Ramon Humber Colt Anderson Leonard Johnson Marcus Cromartie Which of these guys is most deserving of the franchise tag? I can't make up my mind.
  3. Doug Whaley wasn't ready to be a GM when he left Pittsburgh, but a few years under Nix and Brandon changed all of that.
  4. When he's still there in the 5th, the temptation will be too great to resist.
  5. I think he should just get credit for the moves he actually made.
  6. Most of the players on that D were there before Whaley was GM. He gets credit for Brandon Spikes & Preston Brown, but that's about it.
  7. I agree Whaley is near the bottom of GMs, but rotoworld's reasoning behind the ranking was piss poor. We all know why EJ started week 16; there were plenty of better examples of Whaley being in over his head. I think Whaley's raw as a GM in the same way that EJ's raw as a QB.
  8. Not a chance, IMO. Whaley made the same mistake 2 years in a row & Belichick just couldn't resist pouncing.
  9. IMO, Reddick would absolutely not be a reach @ 10. It wouldn't surprise me if he's gone sooner.
  10. Pure death metal isn't so much my thing. I love Death because of the way they evolved, and the way you can hear it on each successive album. Obituary didn't really do that. That being said, Obituary was badass the other night & I've found myself listening to them a bunch since the show. It was at Irving Plaza in NYC.
  11. To prove Whaley can't win, check out our team's performance over the last 7 years while he was the #1 or #2 in the front office. Better than our last few GMs (Levy, Brandon, Nix), but not cutting it against current day GMs leaguewide. IMO, better to hire a new GM & let him decide what to do with a player to whom he isn't bound.
  12. Speaking of Temple, I'd also like to add (without starting a new thread about it) that Dion Dawkins in the 2nd would probably offer an immediate and noticeable upgrade @ RT.
  13. One might say it's not as clear-cut as the poll results would suggest.
  14. Nobody's sleeping on Reddick; he's near universally considered a top 20 pick. I'd be stoked if we got him.
  15. Yeah, but I think they typically only do Chopped in Half off of that album. Which is a good song. Still, I'd love to hear this: I'm sure it will be a decent show. Horrendous and Midnight are also playing, but I don't know anything about either of them. I doubt I make it inside while they're still playing anyway.
  16. None of the above. I'm all for moving back to get more players in THIS draft.
  17. I've had beers by both, but have yet to visit either tasting room. Other Half is walking distance from my place, so I should be ashamed of myself for not having stopped in yet. I've heard nothing but good things about it. Singlecut is also on my list of places to visit soon. Transmitter in Long Island City is another one that's probably worth checking out.
  18. I'm seeing Obituary and Kreator tonight, not that I'm a tremendous fan of either.
  19. Fiddlehead & Sip of Sunshine were also part of the last batch my buddy brought home from VT. Everything was good, but I don't recall any of them standing out from the rest. Hill Farmstead has been making a strong push in NYC over the past year or so.
  20. I don't know about 50 years ago, but I know when I was in school we were taught that there were 4 oceans. I recently saw an article mentioning 5, and some internet research told me that they had decided on the Southern Ocean as a 5th 20 or so years ago. In fact, IIRC, it was considered an ocean before I was born, was then determined not to be during my schooling, and then made the list again some time thereafter. Make up your mind, people!
