  1. African Americans aren't allowed to do something as innocuous as kneeling for the flag, and they obviously aren't allowed to protest. What might they be allowed to do that wouldn't inconvenience us too much?
  2. I can't help but to think our no-huddle / K-gun offense played a big part in our defense not being all that it could have been. Had Buddy Ryan been our DC, Marchibroda probably would've gotten a punch in the mouth.
  3. Anti-losing, which means anti-Whaley, anti-Nix, anti-Levy (as GM), and especially anti-Brandon. However, I don't think I needed to be anti-Whaley to disagree with your post. I'm not blasting him for the pick. He took a shot in the 5th round, but it didn't work out due to the very concerns (weight & character) that caused Karlos to fall to that spot in the draft. IMO, it's not worthy of criticism or praise. Imagine this was a "Should we give Kelvin Benjamin another shot?" thread and I wrote "Was a damn good trade I must say by Beane. Benjamin has no one to blame but himself." Would you agree with that? If not, should I just chalk it up to you being an anti-Beane guy?
  4. Whaley drafted a guy with weight & character concerns who proceeded to eat & smoke his way out of the league in 1 year. I don't fault Whaley for taking a shot on a boom or bust prospect in the 5th, but I don't see how it could be considered a good pick beyond 2015.
  5. My bad. I mistakenly thought you were letting personal feelings about McGahee cloud your memory of his career.
  6. I'd say he was a better first-round pick than Mike Williams, Erik Flowers, JP Losman, John McCargo, Donte Whitner, Leodis McKelvin, CJ Spiller, EJ Manuel, and Sammy Watkins. I know we're supposed to hate McGahee because he ripped on Applebee's, but let's be fair: he won Comeback Player of the Year in '04 & was a borderline stud for the 3 years we got out of him. You can say we didn't need him because we had Travis Henry, but it's possible that OBD had misgivings about giving a new contract to a guy who had 11 kids with 10 women & would later serve time for running a cocaine ring.
  7. Madden has been including all-time players/teams for decades. I doubt their ratings on Dick Butkus and Deacon Jones have changed very much over time. Also, I vote Henry Jones for Bills' starting SS.
  8. He took it in GB. Beane was Assistant GM when the Panthers drafted Funchess; McDermott was DC. Generally speaking, former Panthers who have crossed paths with those guys don't seem to be opposed to coming to Buffalo. Also, I don't think being a GB WR not named Davante Adams is such a desirable job. Probably not. He looked like he was on the rise in year 3, but has been injured & inconsistent in the 2 years since. As a big bodied WR, it's debatable that he'd be any better than Duke. I'm not saying I wanted him, but it wouldn't have been a terrible signing for the price.
  9. $2.5M plus incentives. I wouldn't have faulted McBeane for signing him at that price.
  10. Nice! I think many were expecting this last year, but better late than never.
  11. Bring back Jonathan Williams! I didn't think it deserved its own thread, but we do have an opening.
  12. I don't believe signing EJ makes us any more set at CB than we were before, but we're set up nicely for BPA.
  13. Lions are supposedly interested in Carlos Hyde. Wonder how much $ he's looking for; he seems like he'd fit well in our backfield.
  14. With all the garbage time the Jets are likely to have, I smell late round fantasy gold in Perriman.
