  1. Mental health should be at the forefront of the discussion but it will be masked over by the fact that he is gay and that's so much more controversial and fun to discuss. Right?
  2. Neither is 10 wins! Another season of circling the drain, hopefully by the latter part of the season we see some progress for the future.
  3. Tanking is what the Jets did. Sure you can't directly go into the locker room and tell the players to lay down but you can strip the team of key players and veterans and refuse to address positions of need. Tanking in football is not hard, the Bills FO could have easily let Tyrod walk and pushed out Jones/Peterman. At that point would the GM or coach have to ask the team to "tank"? A QB that raw is like a hole in the side of the ship, it's not a matter of if you will sink, just when you will hit bottom. The Jets FO did exactly that. Poked a hole at QB and then widened it with the loss of key veterans like Marshall, Harris, etc. Again, you don't need to tell the players/coaches to lose the games intentionally when you intentionally increase the talent gap between your squad and the others. Bowles has to know his time is up soon as well, soon as the ship starts sinking the FO can throw the captain overboard to make sure they hit rock bottom.
  4. Talk about a stretch. Bell isn't even under contract right now right? He hasn't signed the tender? So he isn't even able to attend team activities until he does. Watkins situation is entirely different. We have all been over the time table and likely reoccurrence of reinjury that comes with a Jones fracture. That has played out almost exactly as the initial research said it would...If anyone wants to go back and find that thread I'd love to read it again. Watkins has a high risk injury and wasn't cleared by the team, then off hooping it on the side.
  5. If they had any intention on pushing things towards the future and letting the current roster fall flat I would like to hear the reasoning for brining Taylor back. His floor takes the Bills out of the tanking competition. If it was solely about the future we would be seeing Cardale/Peterman week 1. I'm not connvinced they are all in on this roster, they know it needs work. I am convinced they want to play it out and see where it ends up, they probably consider the KC pick an asset towards a better QB if it's needed. This year is like a free spin for all the new coaches and GM.
  6. What's NFTA? This is not unheard of, Uber/Lyft pay that exact fee to massport for every pick up or drop of done at Logan. The city also gets 10 cents on every ride giving in the greater Boston area, supposedly that 10 cent cut goes to the taxi companies. Uber/Lyft are getting pushed around pretty hard now. I heard SF has some big studies going on to see how ridesharing has negatively impacted the traffic situation.
  7. Fox got exiled to Sacramento.
  8. Hearing Tatum? I don't love it. Maybe you watched more of him than I did.
  9. We think alike. I'd be fine with the deal you mentioned.
  10. Hearing same thing. Heck no. I wouldn't trade Brown for Kristaps straight up. He is a 7'3 ball of jelly his ankles and knees will be toast in 3 years. No wayyyyy!!!!
  11. Veterans have always taken lesser deals to win. In this case the league isn't to blame as much as it is the Jets. They screwed over Harris by releasing him so late and cost him the prime FA period where he had more leverage. Crap move by a crap organization. Harris has been their captain and missed something like 1 game in the past 8 seasons.
  12. Same. I like Winston and MM but they both have bigger flaws than Carr. Carr's style fits the modern day NFL so well, enough mobility in the pocket, quick release, accurate, able to function presnap. The sky is the limit.
  13. I wasn't arguing that the Bills should have persued Harris, just that his signing can't be diminished because of his age. I'm sure he has lost a step but he did call the plays for the Jets D and brings a veteran presence to a young LB group. Hightower gets banged up quite a bit and Harris is an ideal signing seeing it's almost July.
  14. Smashing tables and getting black out drunk before noon is foolish but people can put together videos and get a laugh out of it. The video plays a lot better than it would if you put together a montage of 9'ers fans and the likes hang banging in the parking lots and shanking folks. Being laughed at is better than being a pack of criminals. So they aren't that bad. It seems like this is a mix of wrestling/football fans with drinking problems.
  15. That helps the Brooklyn picks value? Russell surrounded by a bunch of guys who don't want to play? I think Lopez actually played last year
  16. Well as an IT fan you had to like the trade down, that gives some hope that he stays in Boston. I like guys that defend when it matters, IT can't do that with his size. That's why I get excited over a 6'4 Fox who is a very fluid. In an ideal world IT would be the greatest sixth man of all time. It's almost like the trade deadline rumor mill now, so many possible scenarios but none likely to happen. I wouldn't be happy with Ball because the media around here really loves with something goes sideways. See Pablo Sandoval. As soon as Lavar says something inflammatory we would be hearing about it for months. I'm not sure the local guys know anything more than the national guys. Chad Ford says that Josh Jackson is still in play at 3, the agent wouldn't let him workout without the promise of the Celts staying at 3 and taking him. Tatum the FSU monster and then some mentions of Fox. FWIW after the initial trade down the local guys were all over Jackson/Tatum, as the draft gets closer everyone's just floating scenarios now nothing would surprise me.
  17. I remember the weeks leading up to playoff games as a kid, I will be happy to feel that excitement again if we are a heavy road dog.
  18. More mentions of the kid from FSU than Tatum. Some folks hinting at Fox now alluding to Ainge possibly not wanting to max IT. Some talk they made trade down again if Ball is there at 3. I hope something actually happens this year. Do you have any preferences?
  19. Jackson blew off the Celts workout today. I want Fox.
  20. I'm only old enough to remember a hobbled big 3, then the end of Larry Legend. Onto Reggie Lewis, Dino Radja, and all those teams. Then finally some real juice with Walker and Pierce. The team has a bunch of mediocre scrappy players who compete well. That's an easy 50 wins in the east but it's not a winning combination. If I were GM? That's always a fun game. I'm keeping Brown no exceptions. I'm not maxing out IT, I fear they will now that they passed on Fultz. I'd take Fox @3 and let the ping pong balls bounce again next year. The Hayward signing seems to be inevitable, that is meh to me. His size is redundant even though a better shooter than the Celts currently have at that spot. It's a spot where they can trade assets to get better immediately but still not as good as GS. Or they can draft and go young and possibly get worse in the short term of that means not inking IT.
  21. I liked the first Grown Ups movie, that was his last decent movie
  22. Did Chan Gailey run a ZBS? I know they did in Atlanta and he played well last season. Maybe that has to do with it? Just throwing a dart at the board.
