  1. The tag is the sword of Damocles, ownership/GMs wield that bad boy when they need to get a contract signed. Players don't want to play on it and the weight of it often helps broker a deal.
  2. Chip Kelly had a history as a douche at UNH, long before Oregon. Many folks knew his high tempo offense would wear out his own team and it wouldn't provide enough of an advantage to make it worth while. Coaching is a lot more than success as a coordinator, the winning helps you get the interviews. I was high on both Quinn and McDaddy, they both ran systems that perform well in the current NFL and have the demeanor of a HC. Mike McCoy looks like an emotional old man on the surface. Is that the leader you want around a bunch of 20-28 year olds? Another good example of a winning coordinator that isn't HC material is Matt Patricia. Read up on him and listen to his interviews. No freaking way is that guy leading a team. It's far from a science as is all of football, but if you look closely you can find the most qualified frat boy and hope it pans out. I think Polian steered them towards McD. Just my personal hunch.
  3. They don't want to play on the tag because it increases their risks as their guarantees are less. So it serves as a deterrent to FA and players happily sign for big bucks as soon as they can, instead of facing the tag. Cousins is a rare bird.
  4. Did you think Dan Quinn or Ben MAC daddy Doo would suck? I think the majority of educated football guys knew they both had a good chance af success.
  5. It will be a high point when she guts that pig.
  6. The only time he was elite was when everyone else around him was also elite. He is a decent pass rusher but he has always been a total headcase. I wouldn't care much if he was shipped off. He does seem like a "me" first player, more than anyone else on the roster.
  7. Detroit still likes Ebron. Maybe Tampa would give away Cameron Brate because they just got OJ? Just throwing that out there, I don't know his $ situation.
  8. Wouldn't want to play them without Cordy.
  9. Maybe you didn't get the memo, this is a team now and selfish players are not going to be around long. It's pretty alarming to hear his DC uttering phrases like that. Do you suppose Leslie is the only coach that thinks Jerry acts that way? Or would you suppose that issue has been communicated amongst the staff? Jerry has a long history of doing dumb things on the field these new guys aren't into it. With his contract I don't think he has a ton of value and I don't expect a trade. I think the major moves are done and they plan on trying to compete with this high school offense.
  10. Your avatar is safe and sound for the near future.
  11. Haha I had a similar thought this weekend. Better make sure we nail those picks and salvage this season. When fantasy is good I can still get excited about Sunday's
  12. That's a good thing. Jmatt and EGaines will be able to provide leadership in the trainers room for any of the more talented players that end up there. LOOK AT THE BRIGHT SIDE! Yeeeeehaw.
  13. Bottom 5 pass D, they can thank the Jets tank for not going lower.
  14. What? Who said that? They can replace with another high draft pick.
  15. I don't think it matters much with TT honestly, outside of him going to OZ and getting a faster processor his time is almost up. It will matter when you draft a QB that can utilize a talent like Watkins. Again...a ton of IFs with Sammy but to sell low on a guy as talented as him is a bad move 100% of the time. I'm not getting into all that "signability" baloney, he will ink a deal with LA before opening day. The numbers are so misleading, I don't care if a guy puts up stats on a bad football team while he is playing amongst on of the worst WR groups in football. He is limited outside, has a bad drop percentage. That is an average at best WR in today's game.
  16. Might want to google Houston Texans depth chart among a few others
  17. Perhaps he was speaking to the importance of having a true number one WR and how that can give a QB the confidence he needs. Something Taylor won't be getting with an aging Boldin and a mediocre Jmatt. One good thing about the trade that nickname is so bad that it's fun to type. JMatt! I'm in 6th grade again!
  18. 2017 : we still suck and you're still drunk
  19. If you keep it up you're going to have to relocate to Hemet!
  20. It's the beauty of Bills fans, OBD can do no wrong. Look at the folks now saying it's an even swap at CB. These are the same people who less than a year ago were using Darby to prop up Whaley and his drafting prowess. "Darby was our first round pick, that Sammy trade didn't even limit Whaley" Now that Darby is gone he is apparently the equivalent of EJ Gaines. The level of discussion has taken a boot to the face in recent months. No one stands by their takes. Everything is roses at OBD.
  21. Amazing how many fans twist and turn in attempt to convince themselves that the latest WTF moment is actually a good thing for the team. I'm as critical of Watkins as anyone else had ever been but only a fool believes this was OBD being held hostage by a player with low "signability". This is the NFL the owners and GMs have all the leverage, throw around a few extra guaranteed dollars and players start singing tunes of praise. It's a slap in the face to fans. "Run deep" "All in"... the next slogan should be a little more direct..."you're drunk and stupid just get in here and buy some hot dogs"
  22. A moderate tank just prolongs the misery at this point.
  23. So they are about to allow the QB that they will soon replace to cost them all of their draft capital? In what world does that makes sense, if they have their mind made up on him then move him out and get a top 5 pick while playing Yates. That will eliminate the need to trade away all the picks!
