That is a less productive player making much more money. Sure he has responsibilities outside of making tackles but you can’t dismiss his lack of productivity just because of that.

It’s crazy to compare a modern day QB to guys of the past. Is everyone this good now a days? No, the rules have been tailored towards making the game easier for QBs and thus more entertaining.

It’s pinball, anyone trying to argue that the game hasn’t changed drastically is in denial. The average QB rating for week two was 105, that’s for the entire league. That’s higher than Rodgers career passer rating. Kids watching the games now will never know what the NFL once was. I hope a nasty defense emerges and creates a new dynasty.

That’s kinda the point. The number two defense in the league couldn’t even force a punt in the biggest game of the season. That’s with an extra week of preparation. What was the Pats defense ranked? They got torched by Nick freaking Foles. It seems that defense gets harder to play after each and every rule change. I expect that trend to continue, under the guise of “safety” they have molded this game into something totally different than I grew up watching. Just look at the average QB rating now and what it was 20 or 30 years ago. The rule changes have made it too easy for QBs. I don’t think anyone will be able to accurately compare these young guys with the older generations. This isn’t the NFL anymore, it’s pinball. Everyone gets a high score.

Is that still true? The game has changed so much. The Eagles won the SB and let up 500 yards IIRC. That’s really bad but they made one play at the end for the victory. Why can’t the Chiefs do that?
