I have to admit, I have been pretty critical, even went with 1-3 in the next stretch but this, right here, is way out there in left field... I hope you're right, I really do. win sunday and I can start billeving again 👍 a lot needs to change though and it may not start this week with all the injuries but lets hope they can start by getting past the jets?

Week 7: Bills at Jets

could it be the 21st century version of the "bickering bills"? -
fair enough and a good thought out post. one that could even sway the most negative of fans, including myself. I will admit I have not been too optimistic and the last two games just fueled the fire for me. I have seen it too many times in the last 20 years. I am a need to see more kind of fan though and going in to year 4 they really should of been in a better position to compete consistently. hopefully it does turn around, beginning this week where they should really be able to go in there against the jets and handle their business and come out with a W? I'll take my blinders off now and hopefully the team will take away the hopelessly negative feelings I've had and they become the contender every fan wants to see going forward?

you're pretty slick, I'll give you that. one thing I noticed, is you're quick to jump on someone's opinion and give your "take" if it doesn't meet your high standard look of this football team. carry on slick, you're starting to get fun. -

does it concern you? why even ask, if you doubt it. I find it very funny that someone, as yourself, can base someone's "life" on how they feel about a football team, hilarious actually. as for the rose colored glasses, where do you come up with offensive? it has always been related to a one sided, see one way type analogy but if some were offended, gee, talk about soft. I don't know where your "world" is, but hey, you're living in it so why not make it how you want it to be, right? you made a good point I overlooked, spag, he is a pretty good dc. how many more pretty good dc's is this offense up against in the next ten games. I expect if they are as good or better then spag, 17 points or less could be expected? if they are worse then spag, I expect 30 or above, we'll see. it's really not the offense I have many doubts about but the defense I have many doubts with. good to see you have that ability, it's admirable. -

I believe coaching has something to do with it as well but I'm not bringing the torches out against the gm and coaches as some have, yet. yes, the last two games will and have brought out the negative thoughts but as a long time fan, this scene has played out before with the hot starts. one can argue that they did beat a couple good teams and beat the teams they were supposed to. if you're looking for what I'm looking for in this team, team dominance, I mean a team that could go in to seattle, ne or up against any of the top tier teams and come out with a win, that's where they need to be. this is year four now and with the draft and fa acquisitions this past offseason you would expect them to do just that, hang with and beat the top tier teams. just winning close games and losing to the real contenders still shows me that yeah, they could win 9 or 10 but they're not going deep in to the post season or contending for the ultimate goal, the lombardi trophy? is it going to be year 5 of this regime before they do it? take another draft and fa acquisition or two? I don't know, call me impatient but I was really expecting to see it this season and so far, as I had said, I haven't and still have my doubts. -

bolded is why I feel as I do. look man, winning close and being in it is great. most times in those type games it could go either way, fortunately for the bills, 4 games it went their way. I'm really not trying to rain on your parade, I'm simply saying this team, to this point, has not shown me enough to be confident they go out and win games against the top tier. this defense is and has been pretty putrid, especially against the run, that in itself gives me doubt. the offense has certainly shown signs they can compete and score points but 17 points against a not so great kc defense is not getting it done. a lot of football yet to be played, prove me wrong, make me a believer, I hope they do. until then, I will have my doubts. -

yeah, we're obviously not watching the same games. that's pretty clear. -
don't see them beating seattle and you would normally check the pats game as a loss but they may have a small chance in winning that game. arizona is a toss up and will depend on what defense shows up, that really speaks for all four games. the jets game and automatic win? not in this league. I'm going to give them the jets, the other three, at his point, I wont mark as a W. 1-3 I know that tends to bother some of the fans wearing blinders and there are quite a few out there who have believed this team was winning 12 games and making the post season before the season started and have yet to change that outlook based off the hot start. but the last two games should of even brought some of them back down to reality.

Week 7: Bills at Jets
DaBillsFanSince1973 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
indeed they are yet I'm looking to the future where they will meet several solid contenders. the rams win was nice to add to the win column but it will be the pats, steelers and the dolphins (not solid but a afce team they need to beat for division implications? as well as needing the conference wins against steelers, chargers and broncos) as well as the 3 remaining nfc west teams who all look to be pretty decent. chargers and broncos I'm not real concerned about, yet the broncos seem to have a pretty stout defense. with the offense looking totally out of sink last week and a defense that can't stop a nose bleed, my concerns seem pretty legit at this juncture? -

I hope folks are not using this game as any kind of gauge on the direction this team is going after having their asses pretty much handed to them the last two weeks? one would expect them to manhandle a weak dysfunctional jets team, yet you never know week to week in this league? if they win, for myself, it doesn't really do anything for my outlook when they have yet to hang with the real contenders. until I see them handle a real contender, like say a seattle team or the steelers or even a pats team of which they have failed to beat in forever, I'm not convinced they're heading in the right direction yet? if I see that they are able to hang in the upcoming games, I may start to believe they're truly on the rise. if they find a way to lose sunday, oh my how that would be the dagger in what has been just under a half of a season? -
Bills release their social justice message
DaBillsFanSince1973 replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
truly a sad time in this nation, a nation more divided then it has ever been, 2020 has been the worst I've seen in my almost 6 decades in this world. a nation divided will certainly fall and from what I've seen and read, pessimistic as it may sound, I don't see this nation ever coming together. united we stand, divided, we fall... -

SI NFL season predictions
DaBillsFanSince1973 replied to DBilz2500's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
7-9, that rings a bell -
if it were not for this, they wouldn't make the post season in 2017. I agree that he may of "managed the offense" to help lead the team to 9 wins but some of the losses that season were brutal. the chargers debacle with peterman and the one that stands out to me was the saints game, a 47-10 embarrassment at home. the offense only mustering 198 yds and the game manager finishing 9/18 56 yds with a 33.6 QBR made for a season to remember for the drought (thank you andy dalton) being broken and some games that will go down in bills lore as some of the worst. no, maybe it is time to put taylor history to rest but most bills fans realize had cincy not won on the last drive, they don't make the post season. period.
