  1. Oh, well, a young man Ain't got nothin' in the world these days
  2. Shot in the dark: Jackie Robinson. And if that's wrong, did he play baseball?
  3. Hope it continues well into Sunday morning!
  4. How was it not a fun game for you to watch? Allen threw for 300+. By your own measure had the Bills lost you still would've been entertained. I can only speak for myself but that game was fun as hell to watch. Two strong teams going toe-to-toe for 60 minutes with the Bills coming out on top. Doesn't get much better than that for me. That was the type of game we always lost the past 25 years.
  5. It's a steal. A year ago I would have been worried that they wouldn't sign Lindor but with Cohen on board I'm assuming that will happen. With Carrasco included Bauer must be off the table. It'll be interesting to see if they land Springer. He's a perfect fit: strong right handed hitter and a legit CFer. To be honest, he's probably a better fit than the upgrade at SS, but that upgrade came with a boost to the starting rotation so no complaints.
  6. The banners were hung on the stadium with care, In the hopes that a playoff win soon would be there,...
  7. Twas the night before Playoffs, And all through TBD,...
  8. Awesome!! I completely forgot about that connection. Piazza went from a draft afterthought to the greatest hitting catcher cuz he was Lasorda's godson. So many great Lasorda quotes, but today this one is the most appropriate: “I bleed Dodger blue and when I die, I’m going to the big Dodger in the sky.”
  9. Fast as a shark he'll cut out of the dark He's a killer - he'll rip out your heart On a one way track and you're not coming back 'Cause the killer's on the attack
  10. 4 hours late and 4 pages in. I haven't read through the responses but I've wondered the same thing. In particular with regard to getting too hopped up.
  11. One of the two managers the Dodgers had between 1954 and 1996. He succeeded Walter Alston who had a 23 year run (all on one year contracts) and followed that up with a 20 year run of his own. My favorite Lasorda quote: When asked what terms Mexican-born pitching sensation Fernando Valenzuela might settle for in his upcoming contract negotiations: 'He wants Texas back' There's also an unsubstantiated story that he once sent Don Rickles to the mound in his uniform to make a pitching change. RIP.
  12. A former Bill?
  13. Before the season I wanted two things at a minimum: a playoff win and Josh to continue the upward trajectory. The latter was far more important to me than the former. Josh is a legit MVP candidate and that has far exceeded my expectations so I already consider this a successful season. With that said, it will be bitterly disappointing if we don't make a playoff run, this team is good enough to win it all this year.
  14. I've heard he may go to the Pats as QB coach. If so, he could complete a trifecta of wrecking AFC East teams.
  15. Maybe we're on a collision course to rectify the wrongs of the past.
  16. My first reaction was to buck the trend and go with Pantera's #$%&@$ Hostile. But if Josh wants to chill this song works and describes him well:
  17. I welcome the opportunity to frogstomp whoever we play in the first round.
  18. Some of you might not agree 'Cause you probably likes a lot of misery But think a while and you will see... Broken hearts are for @ssholes
  19. @YoloinOhio This may be lampish and you probably won't remember but when Ruckert was a HS senior for a rival (my marching band son was a freshman) I posted about how Ruckert was wrecking HS school games as a WR, LB and kicker and you knew he was a top TE recruit. Now my son is a senior and we're watching Ruckert have a big game on a big stage. Cool to see. Tonight I'm a Buckeye fan.
  20. This sums up my thoughts perfectly.
  21. I'm middle of the road. We could get knocked out in the first round, I get that. But we're also legit SB contenders and if 'fans' can't enjoy the ride we're on right now, I just don't get it.
  22. As much as I agree with this sentiment, I have no problem with OP pushing his chips to the middle of the table. Much better than the "fear of failure/I'm concerned" posts.
