Glazer: Bills are still in market for a WR
Dr.Sack replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We need an elite #1 possession WR who can run 4.4 and has a huge catch radius. I don’t see us making a trade for that kind of player, unless we give up a 1st or multiple picks. Better to take our chances and hope we get the running game going which opens up the play action. Foster & Duke have to come alive the final 9 games to achieve this. -
How we get to 10 wins and playoffs...
Dr.Sack replied to bills6969's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A few thoughts.... We need to beat the Redskins and get to 6-2. We need to go 6-2 at home. We are 2-2 now. Good teams win at home, they don’t go 5-3 or 4-4. We have 5 road games left and we must win at least 2 of them. That’s 6-3 in the final 9 games. If we go 5-4 I don’t see us making the playoffs at 10-6. Our defense needs to stop the run to make teams more one dimensional. They can do that by stopping the run and also our offense can assist by scoring early in games. These slow starts keep bad teams in games. Good teams win every quarter and don’t wait for a 4th Qtr bailout from their offense. -
If the defense continues its downward trajectory against the run Josh will need to turn into Aaron Rodgers to keep us in games.

The D isn't built to handle what hit them today

Teams are 116-822-3 when giving up 200 yards or more on the ground since 1988. -

I know the Bills coaches and players will figure it out. -

I’ll take Allen over any other QB in the 2018 Draft. -
Bills will win. It won’t be pretty but we get the W. No way we fall to 2-3 at home.

The optimistic side of the loss...nothing lost
Dr.Sack replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good view point. On the contrary we did lose another game on NE as they now stand 8-0 to our 5-2. Of course many will say we aren’t going to win the division against an all time great NE defense and efficient offense but there’s still 9 weeks left. -
How do we fix the run defense?
Dr.Sack replied to Brianmoorman4jesus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Eagles used heavier 5 OL fronts and we didn’t match with an extra DL. Should have added a third DT. -
Defense needs to get some turnovers
Dr.Sack replied to Niagara Dude's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We are getting good pressure when blitzing but it leaves the screen open. The front 4 is not doing well when using regular pressure. -
I believe better game planning and execution would help more than trading away draft capital. There is no player outside of Aaron Donald or Julio Jones that could cover for our deficiencies today. Football is about strategy & execution. I believe we were outschemed & our executed. That comes back to the coaching staff.

A lesson learned? It is not all about Defense
Dr.Sack replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Let’s remember the Eagles strengths are our greatest weakness. Big DL first team to stop our run game, and their OL dominated in the 2nd half and wore down our DL. We know other teams will try to replicate this formula. -
We will find a way to rebound and get to 10 wins.

The Bills stress winning the battle in the trenches on both sides of the ball. We were dominated. -

A few things that stood out. The Eagles were able to use trap blocks and misdirection to get blocks on Edmunds and Milano. Our DL was consistently overmatched and outschemed. The Eagles were able to make our offense one dimensional by shutting down our running game. Allen & our D faded down the stretch thanks in part to a lack of running on O & the ability of our D to shut down their running game. -

Our D needs to create one turnover. -
Josh Allen fined for throwing ball into stands
Dr.Sack replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Allen should do this after every TD. -
Bills should be able to move the ball on Philly if Cox is out. If he’s healthy we rely more on Allen and know Schwartz will have a lot of looks to challenge him. Eagles secondary is their weakness so look for a big game out of the TEs and a big game from one of our WRs.

The AFC is a dumpster fire this season
Dr.Sack replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We are the best team in the AFC. We aren’t losing another game this year 18-1. -
It’s scary to think what our D might do to Fitz. I know Fitz gets it out fast, but Phillips is a beast & Oliver is thirsty for his first sack. My expectations are they play Fitz knowing Rosen will get beat badly against our D. I expect a the game is close and we blow it open in the 3rd.

In review of the epic showdown two weeks ago, it seemed we let an easily winnable game slip through our fingertips. Sometimes outcomes of games can change based on one or two critical decisions. Here is a strategy we should have employed to win the game knowing we were in a low scoring street fight. Sure Allen struggled, but the Bills moved the ball enough to win the game and were in scoring range. Against a team like NE you need to have drives that end in scores. 3rd & 9 ball on NE 35 1st Quarter 3:39. Actual play: Allen is sacked for a 7 yard loss. Bills punt. Score 0-13. Better play: Bills run a draw / run to Yeldon or Gore and pick up 5 yards. It's 4th & 4 on the NE 30. Hauschka drills a 48 yard FG. Score 3-13. 3rd & 10 ball on NE 26 2nd Quarter 0:29. Actual play: Allen is sacked for a 5 yard loss. Hauschka misses the ensuing 49 yard FG. Score 3-13 at halftime. Better play: Again another draw / run to Yeldon or Gore that picks up 3 yards, it's 4th and 7 on the NE 23. Hauschka drills a 41 yard FG. Score is now 9-13. Bills go on to take a 16 to 13 lead on the Allen 1 yard rush. Allen might not get the concussion, but let's assume it still happened. Due to Bills having the lead they kick a FG on 4th & 3 at the NE 3. Hauschka converts a 21 chip shot. Score 19-13. Final Bills 19 New England 13.

Colin's Newest Power Ranking: Bills at 9.
Dr.Sack replied to mykidsdad's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We certainly have the coaching and talent on D to be in the #1 discussion. A #1 D should be able to destroy Miami next week. I’m talking sub 200 yards total offense and under 10 points.
