  1. But I thought this was funny... and I needed some cheering up... http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story...e=barone/050920 It is sad that they started frisking "everyone" at the game...
  2. I don't watch much TV anymore... House Curb Your Enthusiasm (on DVD - no HBO anymore) Frontline (PBS) Whatever NFL game is on
  3. Yahoo Sports ranks us #11. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=cr-r...=yhoo&type=lgns
  4. People need to get over Bledsoe already.... geez... Why is it that every time a player leaves - we like to stick our tongue out at 'em? If Bledsoe revitalizes his career in Dallas, Who the f*** cares? As long as he doesn't ever beat this team, I could care less... He had a good game, good for him... Don't care...
  5. Now you may or may not know I was happy - but unconvinced by our win on Sunday... I simply think in order to be a top 10 team you have to punch it in when you get in the red zone... granted there were penalties - but that's my point. I'm trying to be "cautiously optomistic." So, I guess I should be "happy" we're #9... I am. I would say we have at least one of the top 3 defenses... but, these rankings are only really based on one game and guesses on paper... So, alot of those numbers are paper tigers if you ask me... the rankings by week 4 are much better judgements about teams... Once you've played 3-4 games you have a much better feel for how good a team really is. Tampa will be a tough but winnable game on the road (I think we win it). Atlanta will be a tougher game than Houston, but winnable (I think we win - as long as we keep Vick under control). New Orleans in San Antonio is one of those possible let down games - if we're 3-0 going there... if we're 2-1 heading there I think we have more focus... So, I figure by week 4 we are at least 3-1... and we will still be in the top 10 of power rankings.
  6. Fan in Chicago - No, this is not a game we are "supposed to win"... quite the contrary... I'm saying I think we'll win the game... I'm not trying to be negative here - I'm just saying we haven't done anything to merit national attention... Sure, some of the media thought Houston would win this game, but most of them picked the Bills to win - that to me is a "supposed to win" game... Upsets and blowouts garner attention. Like I said, if the score was 30-7... you'd see more hype... The Defense played stellar, the offense played good/good+... If you think that sort of performance is the best we can do, we're in trouble. And DCSabres is absolutely right, this is way better than last year...
  7. My sentiments exactly smokinandjokin... If JP & Co scored more TD's than FG's when they had opportunities I'd feel a lot more like we deserved more props... Houston is Houston... Not NE... We won a game we were supposed to win, there's no disrespect for not being crowned champions. 15 teams are 1-0... Next week, I think we have a tough game vs the Bucs... it's a game we can win... But it will be a lot tougher - and therefore more rewarding when we win it. (yeah - I'm saying we will win it... 20 - 13)
  8. Gee, doesn't that look familiar....
  9. I have this small tidbit of info to relate... My chiropracter used to live in New Orleans - about 10 years or so ago... He said, folks down there have known this was going to happen eventually and talk about it all the time... they are much like folks in southern California - they "know" something will happen "someday"... but hope/delude themselves into thinking it won't happen during their lives. The levee was apparently rated to survive a category 3 hurricane... So, I guess it is **fair** to say they should have been more prepared... But, that doesn't make it any less tragic, nor does pointing fingers at anyone... All we can do now is everything we can to make these peoples lives bearable right now... not tomorrow, but right now. Who knows what will become of New Orleans... I've heard reports that much of it will never be the same - a lot of irreperable damage to one of this countries "landmark cities"... kota said it best. "This is a national disaster."
  10. If the NFL does this.... every penny of those tickets should go towards the city of New Orleans for relief efforts... Let's say everything over $5 (saying that $5 pays for the cost to put the game on... Security, power, etc...)
  11. I particularly like that he chose the Ritz for their wine list... as if they'd still be living it up.... Glad to see this sort of rumor kiboshed... No offense meant to 30dive who I'm sure had good intentions...
  12. On a positive post Bills career note.... DE Bryce Fisher is doing well in St Louis....
  13. Well, Who get's to be Price's "1A" reciever? And how pissed will the current #2 be when he's out of a job? If I were PP, I'd sooner find a job in Philly if I could... because there I'd definately have a 1A in TO, and I'd have a much better shot at something special in terms of Playoffs/SB than in Dallas... But that's just me.
  14. Pretty much the same blather I read everywhere... "What were the Bills Thinking? Cutting a proven leader in Bledsoe and starting a rookie. They will do worse than before, because young QB's always fail." It's a tired mantra... It is a valid concern having a new QB who only had 5 attempts in actual games last year, but it isn't as if he's never played the position... We didn't take someone off the streets and say, "Hey, go play QB for the Bills." Just get the damn games started and we'll see how he does... It is BS for everyone to say JP isn't everything to this team, he is the beginning of every offensive play... it is important... but, it isn't his responisiblity to carry the team on his shoulders either. I'd be lying if I said I was 100% confident that JP will carry us to the playoffs this season. But, I don't think Mularkey is going to let him languish at the position if he struggles badly either.
  15. Welcome to fatherhood... You can put a cost on a lot of it, but just like Mastercard says, it's priceless... Enjoy every moment.
  16. I don't think we made a mistake releasing Lee - even if he was picked off of waivers (surprisingly to Minn - with their glut of RB by committee). The team likes the other backs we have... and he wasn't head and shoulders better than any of them... I'd rather have Shaud as backup given he has a year in the system.
  17. I agree with both CBiscuit and Pooj... No reason for the hate here on both these guys... without pointing at anyone in particular... I think a lot of the frustration comes down to a degree of jealousy - and frustration. I think most of us here love the game of football a lot, and maybe a lot of us wish we had the talent some athletes appear to squander away... It is frustrating to see these kids give up what we never had. And like CBiscuit says, most of us did stupid things at 21, our lives weren't publicized the way these kids are given their talent on a football field. It's a shame they can't straighten their lives out... As for what Pooj is talking about... the history of this thing goes back very far here at TSW... See Phillips or Rodney Wright to name two... Like you, I can laugh a bit, but after a while it's me I'm laughing at...
  18. I think it all has to come down to doing what you can... Maybe the City can step in and open up some "refugee" camps... or, perhaps there are some unused dorms on campus?
  19. Or do we still have some NFLE exemptions? Thanks.
  20. I wouldn't have believed it.... Until I heard it on the backtrack of the new "Shout" Elmo... Anyone who brings that sorry thing into Ralph Wilson Stadium as "official" is DEFINATELY the Son of Satan....
  21. If anyone is, count me in too... I'll bring whatever... Would love to get to meet some of you folks... PM me if you're going and are interested... I'm stoked to see my first live game.
  22. As a game player... and the parent of game players... I have to say it was a stupid move to keep code in the game which no matter how crude could be unlocked to provide porn... This is *bad press* in a market which doesn't get much good press in terms of Violence etc... Now, if their (Rockstar's) intent was truly not to leave the code in, and an employee purposefully left it in, I'm guessing they are in some pretty hot water... If anyone has seen this cut scene, are we talking PG-13 (just nudity) R (nudity & intercourse - no penetration shown) or X rated (you get the idea)? Anything less than X rated should be covered by the M (if you ask me)...
  23. Who else is going, and where do folks meet before the game? This will be my first Bills game - heck first NFL game for that matter...
  24. Well... I didn't see them offered at bb.com.... All I could find was links to group sales and season tickets... I wasn't sure if they were available yet. but it's only 2 months away and I wasn't sure if I was missing something. I do appreciate the humor on a friday though.
