  1. Never heard of John Wawrow. I hope he lacks creditability because we need to stop surrendering assets.
  2. I voted to keep him as doing so will show that valued veterans will not just be jettisoned just over money. That said, if there is ANY off-season nonsense with him this year, he should go. As a veteran, he needs to start conducting himself as a leader both on and off the field. The OL post during the NCAA title game is not encouraging though.
  3. So I was just thinking... What if Peterman had a comeback kid mentality? He may have needed a bit of time to get warmed up, but then in the 2nd half - GANGBUSTERS!!! I guess we'll never know ?
  4. Sorry, but in no universe was Rob Johnson better than... Pretty much anyone who's name does not rhyme with Meter man.
  5. I don't agree with this. Veteran leadership has value. Rookies may respect coaches, but they also respect veterans who have done what they want to do. I can make an argument for keeping Shady as he has presented as a locker room leader. Off-field nonsense aside. I've not heard much about how Clay is in the room, but I think the coaches are ready to move on. Just because you have $90M to spend doesn't mean you have to in one off-season. Indy did not last year and they're sitting awful pretty right now. My eyes tell me he still have elusiveness, but is slow to the hole. I concede he too often failed to have room as he was often met in the backfield by defenders, but on other occasions in space, I did not see a back who can quickly accelerate forward.
  6. Costing you games? What is that cost exactly? No playoff potential. Culture with a number of players that will be moved out within two years? Losing on the road to the division champion who is undefeated at home this year hardly feels costly. Barkley, nor Anderson, nor Aaron Rodgers is going to pull this one out with the supporting cast. On the field he can assess what he thinks at the moment with options that he'll see later on film. If he's not reading correctly, or with wide enough vision, that can be addressed later. Watching someone else and speculating their thoughts are not nearly as valuable. Asking for him to sit is pointless and counter productive
  7. But McDermott is going nowhere. You're welcome to your opinion, although my opinion is that next year will be a more fair measuring stick depending on what Beane gives him in the offseason. Regardless, there will be no firing, so why continue to harp on it?
  8. That's on the line, he still causes misses with any space. When he meets the handoff from Allen and 2 defenders simultaneously, then yards are going to be pretty hard to come by. PK
  9. The attempt to draw off on 4th<5 is useless. I actually think the defense sits back knowing full well there will be no snap. I'd actually like to see them snap one to create the illusion they are a threat.
  10. You're ruining this message board by offering multiple sentences and hopeful commentary. JK, keep it coming.
  11. I doubt it no. My kingdom for intelligent insight instead of "sentences" that elementary teachers would wince over.
  12. Thanks for this. I didn't think it was possible. Although you don't click, you just run your mouse over the name to see ignore. When I click it, there is a follow button, but not ignore. Awesome thanks.
  13. Thanks for the reply. I needed the chance to be optimistic.
  14. Did you think Josh would suddenly be a HOF QB in his first go round against the Patriots? Apparently you did not expect a learning process, just instant achievement. Can we block posters on this board? That's a feature I'd take full advantage of.
  15. I've moved to San Diego and want to bring my kids back for a game in the next couple of years. Are the fans in the stands equally whiney? If so, maybe I don't want to do that. Insufferable. I come on the board looking to view some of the reactions, but it's hard to filter out all of the unintelligible noise.
  16. Agreed. I have no need to keep any member of our offensive line. i know they cannot replace everyone, but they are all expendable.
  17. 3% drop rate. Try making a valid comment
  18. What evidence led you to believe we might be?
  19. When did this become "official"? Did Beane fire McDermott? Was he quoted saying something to the contrary?
  20. He was there anticipating the hail mary. HA!
  21. Given his position, catching balls that reach you are important. Darrius Heyward Bey is known to be a good blocking receiver and has somehow parlayed that into a long career. Apparently that has value in the NFL. He is not valued for his receiving skills. I think Zay was drafted as a catching receiver, so his drops are definitely a cause for concern. If he was a late, or undrafted player I don't think we'd have the same issues. We used a 2nd round pick on him, so the expectation is higher. Now that he's our "#1" receiver, even more will be expected.
  22. Wow! I'm not even that self righteous. What do you expect from this team? Given the talent on the field, this team still over-performs. This squad has serious problems. This roster was atrociously constructed years ago as was our cap situation. There are some positives, but there are still major needs. I'm not going to say McD is blameless, but rolling coaches every two years is stupid. This roster was not going to be totally overhauled in two years. With cap space and a 3rd draft, I'm looking at next year as a more realistic gauge of what we'll expect.
  23. He did not get hit by the blocker as much as he stopped and leveraged the corner. With the running back there, he should have continued upfield
  24. I didn't see the play live. Was the receiver pushed backwards out of bounds, or did he run there himself? If defense stopped progress, then clock should run. If under own power, then stop clock.
