I don’t feel this is hindsight. The Coleman pick was not adored at the time. Sanders maybe, but Beane has taken MANY early round players that were not clean fits for this team (Epanesa, Ford, Bashum, Oliver, Elam, Coleman, etc) that have provided minimal impact. Some later picks have over performed, but for their draft but they are not making up for the lack of impact in rounds 1 & 2

I don't totally agree. If you ask players to constantly play fast to make the penetration play, you're not encouraging them to break down and play solid fundamentals. The scheme here matters.

McDermott is a conundrum. He's taken us from doldrums and changed the culture so positively. Obviously, Josh is the major part of that, but McDermott's (& Beane's) contributions cannot be ignored. That said, I feel there is a ceiling to this defense and the ceiling of the players they bring in, especially on defense which is McDermott's side of the ball. I hope they do not waste Josh's career. That man deserve a ring.

The problem is you believe the league cares about parity, or fairness. They do not. The NFL is a business and they only care about profits. 14 teams in the playoffs earns more than 12. Fortunately, 16 earns more than 14. In a TV contract negotiation upcoming, we’ll get a 16 team playoff. We’ll get an 18 game schedule first, so we’re probably 2 negotiations away to the 16 team playoff. Why should the Super Bowl be on a Saturday?

Annually the Bills shy away from rookies making an impact since the coaches fear giving rookies too much responsibility. Other successful teams don’t fall into this scared narrative. McDermott either needs too trust Beane and the picks he’s given, or learn how too coach up rookies and make the contributors right away. Worthy v Coleman. Mahomes clearly trust Worthy more. Elam v KC secondary last couple or years. Elam has been ruined by this coaching staff forcing him too fit into a system he’s not suited for instead of adjusting a scheme for him too thrive while KC plugs & plays rookies annually who get the job done. McDermott has been great for culture, but he’s annually fails this team from getting too the pinnacle

I hope the league, err, the Chiefs get their 3peat. Otherwise the league starts the cycle over again for the (red &) golden boy

I haven't gone back to look at the first formation penalty against Anderson, but I watched him on the 2nd one they called at the time and went back to see it on replay and he was lined up like an H back inside of Kincaid. That was a truly incorrect call.

Why was he not challenging the sticks on that play? He's Josh's most reliable WR and he's deep in the backfield against an aggressive defense. That should have been Samuel with Shakir beyond the sticks. PK

I think McD can have a Cowher type career & reach the peak someday. Not while Reid is on the other sideline though.

Other than QB, I'm really not down with any elite contract. Milano is too often injured to justify his dollars. Oliver inconsistant Tre was a shame Von is burnt Diggs. (head slap) OK, I'll give you Dawkins. He's been a good extension, but so many others are burning money. Let Groot walk & use comp picks to trade up and get actually elite players. Our choices in the late 1st & 2nd rounds are questionable at best. Cook is the only one in my mind that has met, or exceeded expectations.

I was actually pleased with the FG. I was displeased with the offensive play calling on the last drive. 1st Down Johnson run (Not Cooks) 2nd down Cooks in, but he runs a route to the flat (which Johnson does well) Shakir runs the bubble motion on the fatal play in such a way that Josh's most reliable receiver is not really involved in a route anywhere near the sticks. I cannot make sense of any of it

Did the refs tell McD to take the XP off the board? Did they tell him to go for 2 again unnecessarily early in the 3rd? Nope. How the Bills manage that last drive looks a lot different if they are down by 1, driving for just the FG position. Instead, they are down by 3 & need a TD to take the lead. 3 will be no better than a tie. All of that forces them to play for the potential to drive the whole field. Not to mention, why on Earth is Johnson running on 1st down to start the last drive. It's like the Bills are playing to trick KCs coaches at every turn. Fingers crossed KC gets their 3-peat & Reid retires.

Kinkaid needs to bulk up and become a complete TE. As a heavy WR, he lacks. As a blocking TE he lacks. The Bills need to stop drafting players to change them into some version they want and instead draft players who ARE what they want. Epenesa & Elam are other examples. Developing a player is fine, but trying to fit a square peg in a round hole, especially with high draft picks, is insanity.

My biggest concern coming in and takeaway after is that McDermott's defensive system and personnel can not shut down elite offenses. They give up too much space that will be exploited by QBs like Mahomes & Burrows. It all hinges on the defensive line penetrating & creating mayhem for QBs. Ed Oliver is too light to do this consistently and they draft long/strong outside rushers instead of speed rushers who can get to the QB quickly. Not to mention the cage rush that worked for the Bills week 11 was completely abandoned on the edges today which is why Mahomes could run at will around the edge. I love the culture he's built here. I don't want too start over offensively. I want to tear down the defense and attack the ball. I won't get what I want, but I want it nonetheless.

This should be a picture of KC's coaching staff. No game will ever be perfectly officiated. This one wasn't either, but the refs were not the difference. Absolutely mind numbing decisions by the Bills coaches was the difference. Andy Reid & his staff live in McD & company's heads rent free.

John got a talking to by the ref today. Apparently he did not like Josh yelling at the crew for a call they missed as pointed out by Romo on the broadcast. How long before the ref calls back to Josh to apologize for the 4 points the Bills lost out on due to the no call?

Exactly how does McD hold players accountable for pre-snap type penalties? We commit the same mistakes week after week. I'm not seeing improvement.

Top 2 MVP candidates head to head? Definitely the Saturday night prime time game. Unless the league decides to flex it to Monday because they are ratings whores. I know they don’t schedule 2nd round playoff games on Monday, but I believe the league office would consider it
