  1. Culture. I'm not in the locker room to see if he actually behaves like a leader, but his mannerisms on the field leave something to be desired. Rats! That was my first thought, but you beat me to it. Well done.
  2. The "little guy" line reminds me of the Benny Hill sidekick that keeps getting slapped on his bald head. heh heh. Anyway... I think for two years this team has overproduced. The Bills clearly do not have the talent of other teams. Sometimes it shows and sometimes they surprise me positively. If he truly evaluates to get better every week, then some of his flaws have to start showing improvement. * His challenges are comical. I was quite bothered he tossed it after progress was obviously out of the end zone. * I don't think his time management is as bad as his tendency to just concede time at the end of a half. The kid wants to push it. Let him fly. He's not going to learn turning and handing it off in those situations. * If we're keeping players specifically to perform better at ST, then that's a failure all around. I don't think we need major coaching changes otherwise, just more talent. * This team shows a lack of discipline and professionalism. Not just the penalties, but Lawson in the tunnel last week and Hughes this week. How is it not clear to either that such behavior reflects poorly on everyone in the organization? * KB and Clay. I cannot isolate film to watch both of them every play, so maybe there are positives I'm not seeing, but they do not appear to show much effort, nor leadership. Shady is not performing to the level we all hoped for, but at least he's a leader. If KB and Clay have nothing to offer, we can perform just as well without them. If cutting them is too costly, then can be inactive and not just be awarded playing JMHO
  3. I live a life where I don't find myself in such predicaments as Kareem's. When these things happen I typically have my initial outrage and wonder why I watch the NFL at all. Not that I'm numb to it, but I enjoy the game, warts and all. I'm often more appalled by the owners' arrogance than the players' ignorance. The Bills have had players that made bad choices and got suspensions, yet after a great play, there we are rooting them on. This is not a high ground to take. If you do, stop watching football altogether. Bills players are not all saints. Even if we place a claim, I don't think he'll fall to us anyway.
  4. C'mon man. You owe your wife something nice after that crack.
  5. What is overlooked is that Dabol is still holding his play sheet after his fall. He clearly saw it as a teaching moment and is showing Clay how to hold on to things when he falls. My caption: Like this doofus!
  6. I don't know who is in the box on a monitor advising McD to throw the red flag, but HOLY COW! Worse job than anyone ever mentioned before on this site. For all of the player moves the Bills make week-to-week, THAT is someone that needs to go.
  7. Not that I like, nor do I agree with every call I see, but the Bills bring much of this on themselves. This is one of my major contentions with McD. Rex's teams were undisciplined and he was supposed to bring a new culture. I still see a lack of discipline from this group. Too often they do not show maturity, nor professionalism. I thought the call they made against Phillips was a bit oversensitive. The running back was upended and Phillips was celebrating a good play. I don't think he was attempting to push the RBs foot, but got caught up. They saw it differently. What I did not like at all was Phillips clapping at the Miami sideline the very next play. He should have gotten his 2nd unsportsmanlike and been ejected. After the game Hughes confronts the refs in the hallways. If what Hughes says is true, that does not excuse Hughes' reaction. The league is going to investigate now anyway, why go to handle it personally? What good comes from that? If McD feels there is no tolerance for these types of demonstrations, then he need to back that up with consequences. I hope he's serious and I hope he gets this under control, or moves players along that cannot control themselves.
  8. After I turned off our game I watched Kelce & Rudolph make great catches using strong hands to hang on. After last year's performance before injury, I thought Clay would be a nice sleeper. Sleepy maybe, not sleeper.
  9. This take is ridiculous. Please, tomorrow, go to a park, run left & try to throw it back to the right. See how far it goes and how close to a target you come. Certainly Clay was not the primary on that play and Josh getting it to him at the goal line was something legends cannot do. Why Clay was that far in the endzone away from every other player is inexplicable. Was he heading to the tunnel already? COME BACK TO YOUR SCRAMBLING QB DOOFUS! NOT Allen's fault.
  10. Well, it's a better draft pick. Allen deserved better on the Clay drop. Entertaining at least.
  11. So one problem on the Jones play is that no flag is thrown because it was ruled a catch. I wonder if the ball came loose immediately if they would have thrown PI
  12. Choke hold is not a penalty. Tacklers can wrap around the head and neck by rule. I refereed a game where a coach yelled we should protect the players since his runner was being tackled in a headlock. I told the coach that if he wanted to sit with the rules committee to get a rule put in place I'd sit right by his side and agree. It seems like it should be a rule and I think it should be illegal, but as it is now, not against the rules.
  13. Although Lofton makes a good point that Teller could have thrown the ball away, I would want McDermott fired if he actually spent one second teaching an OL to pick up a ball, run out of the pocket and throw it away to save yardage.
  14. No facemask, no horsecollar, no foul. Happens to other players on the field, so nothing to complain about other than I want them to be penalized so my team can win.
  15. Most WR start to really emerge in 3rd year, so anything we get now is gravy. It's nice that some (like Thielen) hit it right away, but that's still not the norm.
  16. When does KB HOLD a ball. Does bouncing off your hands qualify as holding a ball now?
  17. I cannot even sympathize with your point of view. Youth and high school ball are losing players in droves. This game has to be played differently if it is going to survive. There is no reason for Alonzo's head to be above the receivers shoulders. He doesn't have to go low to the knees, but he needs to come down. The hit on Luck seemed rather touchy, but today's call has to be called. Rugby players can make these hits without colliding heads, so football players can too.
  18. Not that I think 50 throws is a good game plan, but every run seems like a waste of a play call. Sadly, Shady occasionally has an elusive move, or two, but he's never allowed to get forward momentum to actually gain yards. Given that the draft prospects for WR are not great, I would be fine trading down from whatever pick we have and stockpiling OL in the first two days.
  19. RE-built? Doesn't there need to be some foundation to call what we have built?
  20. Given that there's really only been one Peyton pre-snap, that's not outrageous to say. There is a reason Peyton is the name you use there. Peyton also had A LOT of grooming even before the NFL. Josh doesn't have enough hours in a day to make up that prep time. Let's not be so touchy. My concern with Josh is his ability to adjust. He came into the draft with concerns about completion percentage. Dilfer makes the point that completion % and accuracy are not the same. Fair enough. Since the NFL does not require throws off of a crossbar, Josh's challenge has been and still is throwing the ball in a manner that allows his receivers to catch it. That is what makes a championship QB. Josh came into the season knowing this is a problem and it still appears to be a problem. I think he's more exciting to watch than the previous few QBs, but he'll eventually need to be BETTER than them also, not just exciting.
  21. And CBS is ridiculous for continuing to show the conflict in the tunnel
  22. Who's idea was it to have Lawson and Fournette leave at the same time? A**inine
  23. Not trying to save Walt here, but he's not their teacher. This group has issues all around.
