  1. That's tremendously helpful. Thank you. How about a scandium shaft like this?
  2. I've looked there. I've had some luck with E-Bay in the past, craiglist is mostly really old really crusty stuff Mom and Dad are getting rid of when the kid goes to college. There are exceptions but that's generally the case I've found. We have a play it again sports nearby and I'm down with that but my bigger issue is I don't know what I'm looking for. You can drop me in play-it-again or ebay for baseball or hockey stuff and I can come out with gems because I can sort through the crap. I'm lost with lax.
  3. My lady practically demands it. Good times.
  4. My son decided he wants to try lacrosse again this year. He played 1 year as an 8 year old and is going back to it at 10. This is his second sport (hockey is king) and he's really doing it just for fun, no aspirations/delusions of grandeur. Can anybody give me a recommendation for a decent middie/attack head and shaft as well as a decent defense head and shaft? I'm not sure what he's going to end up playing and I want to be prepared with recommendations either way. With hockey gear I know what's what and can scope out good deals on marked down stuff. With baseball I know what's good, what's bad, and what's recently been made illegal (yet is still sold). I know jack about lacrosse gear so I can't tell what's marked down because it's old stock and what's marked down because it sucks or because it's illegal to use. His helmet still fits and I was able to get some recommendations on gloves and arm pads that I was able to get very cheaply ($25 ea. marked down from considerably more than that). If you're going to respond think good, but cheap. He's not good enough nor invested enough for top end gear. Lacrosse Monkey seems to have a nice selection of things in the Clearance area but like I said I have no clue. Online reviews are, well, online reviews. Not super helpful and often contradictory.
  5. Dallas probably has the best OL in football and they couldn't keep him healthy.
  6. Having worked in my field for 15 years in the lowest of low income areas,a top tier upper middle class suburb, and a working class first ring suburb I can say with conviction that you could swap the teachers from those schools and the kids by in large wouldn't notice the difference. There are great teachers at every school and there are really crappy teachers at every school. I'd argue that you'd often find better ones in the low income areas because they have learned how to do more with much less. There are PLENTY of other disparities I could list for you that do make a palpable difference though.
  7. Football, particularly defensive line, is the place I look for forward thinking non-confrontational discipline.
  8. Childress doesn't call plays now and didn't in Philly either. He is Andy Reid's version of Dennis Thurman. Is Mike Tice available?
  9. Some people's reaction is to stop !@#$ing up. When that happens the yelling usually turns into praise and the yelling is directed elsewhere while you're held up as an example to follow.
  10. Childress didn't call plays as OC under Andy Reid and I doubt he does so now either.
  11. He was an absolute disaster as DC in Philadelphia. OL Coach is his strength and he's very good at that.
  12. Just trying to capture the spirit of the thing.
  13. I wasn't looking for them to win, but I was hoping they wouldn't run for the bus. If the players wanted Lynn as the guy they certainly didn't show it with the effort they gave.
  14. The wrong guy. It doesn't really matter which one, whoever it is will be the wrong one. Sorta like the coach.
  15. From where I'm sitting it doesn't seem to have mattered who the coach has been. The sucking has been the same regardless.
  16. I'm 38 and available. What's the worst that could happen? They'd miss the playoffs for 2 decades?
  17. It appears I may have undershot on the penalties.
  18. Cincy 28, Buffalo 17. Bills take 14 penalties.
  19. "Holding...#79...Offense...."
  20. There are owners who own major stakes in Daily Fantasy Football gambling sites. You think they'll care about having a casino attached to the building? I'd be surprised if there weren't a sports book at the 50 yard line with all the owners getting a cut via revenue sharing. Al Davis' ghost would be chortling in hell if that happened.
  21. You nailed it. I had 48-7. It was much closer than that.
  22. They've been rolled by 3 division opponents THIS SEASON let alone the horrific performance Rex put in last year v. Brady at home. But hey, I'm sure that trip out to Seattle will go much better.
  23. Don't any of you get tired of eating your own words? Ever? When's the last time the Bills HAVEN'T let you down? Doesn't running your mouth like an idiot beforehand just make that worse? If you've been paying any attention at all for the last decade and a half your response to this weekend should be to keep your mouth shut and pray heavily.
