WEEI Boston cartoon from yesterday.
Blokestradamus replied to Bubba Gump's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
To the victor goes the spoils. And the bragging rights. And the right to rub it in I'd like to think that after all these years, beating the Bills would just be another Sunday for them. They seem to relish in it a little more than they should, considering how insignificant we must be to them. -
Gilmore needs to go
Blokestradamus replied to offsides#76FredSmerlas's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just for the record, you're not going to find me standing up for his effort level. The TD was simple miscommunication, it's forgivable. Giving up before Hogan's over the line? That's pretty awful. I don't care if it was someone else's fault. -

Kinda tough to call anyone else immature when Patriot week is just a week long excuse for people to hurl gay slurs at Tom Brady. And then the biggest fan involvement on Sunday was someone throwing a !@#$ing dildo on the field. -
Positional Needs For DraftTek - Astro

Looks like they'll have a good $30m+ in cap space and only him and Alford as pressing FA's. I'd bank on him sticking around. Between him and Matthews, man they've got a good pair of tackles. -

Not the place to discuss this. I've already made my feelings clear on yesterday -

I was pretty bullish that he was the best developmental QB in the draft and I think we're seeing some swift progression from him as a passer. A lot of credit has to go to Scott Linehan and Tony Romo, it seems that Romo is being a genuinely good teammate and trying to guide the rookie along. He's still a little raw and inexperienced but he's showing better pocket presence, keeping his eyes downfield more. Using his mobility to extend plays rather than just taking off like he did a lot in college. We were never going to need Dak this year, Tyrod was always the 2016 starter but it would've been nice to have the kid waiting in the wings seeing how Tyrod's played this year. I still think that I'd put Romo back in when he's healthy if I'm Jason Garrett because Schwartz managed to create a blueprint for others to follow on how to confuse and pressure him. Prescott isn't a franchise QB yet but, for a developmental rookie, he looks pretty decent. -

As the veterans of the secondary, it's disappointing that Graham and Gilmore haven't taken on Aaron's leadership role. I'm on record that I think Aaron's a pretty average player but Rex has typically had that kind of vocal guy in the secondary to marshall the troops. Why he loved Jim Leonhard, why he wanted an old Ed Reed. -

It can't happen against anyone but Brady? That's a recipe for disaster. Internally, they know what went wrong. Got to sort it out, whatever it is. -

I'm interested in the truth. The truth is there was a miscommunication. Vilify Gilmore if you must but there's a bigger issue at play than just him. -
Corey Graham Post Game Interview
Blokestradamus replied to Fadingpain's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
"Just miscommunication in coverage," Meeks said after the game. "We had two calls come in. It was pretty much just miscommunication on what we were actually in on that play." Evidently, Gilmore thought he was supposed to have help over the top. "Uh, maybe so," Meeks said. "Because the first call that came in was a drop call, which was pretty much a Cover 2. Then it became a man situation. Just like Corey Graham just said, we have to communicate better across the board. Everybody has to know what we're playing, what we're doing so we don't have simple mistakes like that versus great players." So, from what Meeks is saying tallies with my initial thoughts. Gilmore thought he was in zone, had to carry the vertical underneath with safety help over the top. Still needs to play to the whistle though. Can't really defend him on that. -
OK, let's do this: Tyrod Taylor
Blokestradamus replied to TakeYouToTasker's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The pass was a little late from Tyrod. Incognito got shoved into his lap and he released it a little high. Goodwin extended for it, got bumped at the catch point by Isa Abdul-Quddus and fell awkwardly. Some dumb luck played a part but Tyrod wasn't an entirely innocent party. -

To be fair, he's heard about Shaq being back. Maybe he thought his target would be 7 foot tall? -

It definitely seems that way to me. I don't know for sure but it's not the first time against NE where him missing has (seemingly) had a direct correlation to busted coverages. -

One of the biggest drop-offs with #23 not on the field is Aaron's big mouth. Noticed it after he left the home game last year, the back end plays like **** because he's the vocal leader. That being said, Graham and Gilmore as the older players on that unit should be stepping up and making themselves heard. -

I see a lot of stories like this and I won't lie. It makes me nervous about flying over for a game. As of right now, I'd probably be coming over on my own without anyone watching my back. I'm sorry you had a bad experience today, Mango. It's a shame that the odd few seems to ruin it for the majoriy of decently behaved fans. -
Mettenberger and Mannion would both fit the bill. I mean, neither are good but if you want a statue

The past couple of games, I don't think Anthony Lynn has helped him out a lot. The run game was productive enough to keep us ticking along but they got away from it too readily. This is a season-long evaluation process so I'm not reaching any definitive takes just yet. Just that his arrow isn't pointing up. -

That's exactly the issue. We got drawn into a shootout and we were firing blanks. Obviously, the supporting cast doesn't help but I frankly don't care from an evaluation standpoint. If he makes every throw and they're all dropped or contested because the WR can't get open, fine. That's not the case, he's still missing routine throws. -

Even going back to preseason last year, I never felt he was going to be "The Guy". He's just not good enough to key areas for sustainable quarterback play. Accuracy, mental processing, anticipation. He's fine as a guy on the kind of contract he was signed to initially. When he jumps from $3m to $16m, can he improve the team to the point where we don't miss $13m worth of production elsewhere? I doubt it.
