  1. The shag carpet comment was hysterical as was the breathalyzer reading. funny stuff - thanks.
  2. You are funny - "negative posts...backed with facts / possible solutions"......ha That does not happen here, are you new? Don't visit here much do you? The negative posters here at TBD NEVER NEVER post anything remotely close to 'facts' (well maybe in their little mind) or possible solutions (er, I guess, FIRE TD now is sort of a solution, maybe. Thanks for the chuckle, and thanks for stopping in.
  3. Having tailgated at both, hands down it is GB. Again, I would like to vote 'homey' just because, but if any of you honestly experienced both, you would know what I mean. Again, I was born and raised in WNY and admire the Bills as much as anyone, yet you gotta give props where props are due (kinda like acknowleding the brilliance of Belichick or greatness of Brady - you would prefer to not do it, but evidence suggests otherwise). It will be interesting to see where the poll ends up.
  4. I agree with Nick's original post and Gavin's succinct thoughts. Losing TS may serve as the proverbial "blessing in disguise". You know how sometimes people ramp it up when their backs are to the wall and counted out? Maybe this injury will spook some players into playing with a purpose. Not that you should need this type of motivation at the NFL, but humans are humans. Notice also how all of TS teammates said "his attitude will be missed most"...really talent wise I am sure we can compensate (heck look how the last game and half went when he WAS playing)....there should not be a noticeable dropoff from an already poorly performing defense. What type of Bills players do we have, those that will belly up to the bar and pick up any slack or those that will curl up in the fetal position and say they are DOOOOOOOMED without TS. Hopefully, the former.
  5. Yea, look how great Polian has done in Indy with Manning, Harrison, James et al over the last 6 or 7 years. All those superbowl trips have really established him as a premier GM. Donahue should really learn from his genius oh and all those post-humous awards Butler should be getting for his work in SD. Amazing what a legacy he left AJ Smith. Shall I continue or do you get the point or maybe you have no clue where my post was going, which of course would then validate my hypothesis about your perspective.
  6. Funny....but I think you guys are taking this 'winded' thing too seriously. MM knows that phrase hits peoples 'buttons' so he uses it. Really, don't you do that with people that are mean? Purposely press their buttons? I do all the time and it works wonders as they get caught up in the wrong issue and waste all their time trying to be wittier than the person they try to emulate - kinda like you guys here in this forum. Anyone with half a brain noticed/observed/saw CV wave to the sideline for a replacement. He took HIMSELF out of the game not MM. Fan the flames and flame away ---- as long as you realize you are wrong. Though I cannot speak to WM being winded. That is somewhat dubious.
  7. to come out. And limping to boot. It looked like he injured himself. I say this because I have read a few posts here claiming the MM pulled CV out of the game for being winded. I do not believe that to be the case. First, if MM said that to the media it was probably a sarcastic jab that basically said "if you paid attention to the game you would notice CV limping off to the sidelines late in the game". Our OL was banged up and had essentially 2 rookies playing the entire Right Side. What would anyone think would happen on offense? That being said, why pull a quarterback sneak over the right side of the line for fourth down...unless JP called his own number on that one? fwiw
  8. I was thinking the same thing...however I would have liked to have seen Shaud Williams on that play. With his speed he could have turned the corner and made the first down yardage. It was a GREAT playcall but the personnel choice was terrible. Shaud Williams makes the play - honestly I do not even think WM makes the play.
  9. With all due respect, you sound rather fragile yourself. Emotions are high after a loss, take some time.....by the way, 'we' are not the best fans not by far. Most irrational and emotive - YES. Best, not even close. The WNY 'complex' really shines on this type of board.
  10. I believe the falcon defense is generally overrated and more apt to be wore down with a consistent running game. Sure they look good on paper, but they are a statistical anomaly more that a strong reality. Certainly this is arguable, but that is the point - their defense is arguably strong or arguably over-rated. The Bills would have to offer up the proverbial 'egg' for them to lose this game - I can see WM having a strong game (125 yds) and JP performing above expectation. ST's will also be a key. I originally had this as a loss on the Bills schedule, but (a) I also had the TB being a W (b) a 'hurt' Vick is better for us than a healthy Schaub. Bills 27 -10.
  11. With all due respect, what type of poker player thinks it is a breach? That is similar to saying a fake punt in football or an onside kick should be illegal. There are only two types of poker players that I know of that would believe a 'check-raise' is a breach of anything, and they are (a) bad (b) sore losers - kinda like Helmuth. It is a great strategy -
  12. Agreed. Once WM starts running the ball like a man rather than a unsure 6th grader, give him the ball 30 times. I give credit to MM in the Tampa game, I would have benched WM for the entire second half. WM needs to understand running backs are a dime a dozen in the NFL - evidence in the fact the average tenure is 4-5 years. WM needs to bow down to MM or be prepared to ride the pine - and with good reason. The shelf life of a RB is so short they are easily replaced.
  13. Agreed and that tends to happen when a Super Bowl winning coach goes against a second year guy. MM learned yesterday and the Bills are bound to get better for it. Sure it was a painful, ugly lesson, but that is kinda life in general. Personally, that game does not dilute my enthusiasm of where they will end up at years end. I still think they have the potential to win 10 games. No joke.
  14. To support your intuition, it is also "Off" on many sports books as well. Not super sure why, though I would be hard pressed to put big money on the game...for several reasons.
  15. A draw to Willis up the gut for 10.
  16. I was born and raised in WNY and have lived in Indiana, Nevada, and Wisconsin. I have found phenomonal pizza in all those locales. WNY is good, but really, WNY did not invent nor master the pizza. I have even visited SoCal and found great pizza there. Those that think WNY is the mecca of pizza probably really do not give other locations a chance - an immediate bias with no chance of a favorable outcome. By the way, Columbus OH has some great pizza.
  17. That does look like a good pick....
  18. So did I; the best part is there are only 7 of us left out of 28 (13 took Stl, 5 took Car, and 3 took Minn). Kinda funny how things work out.
  19. At the risk of sounding like a copycat.......what he said. Which means nothing in the overall scheme of the game as I have the Bills winning 27 - 14. Did I just address two threads with one answer?.....yessssss!
  20. If the Bills are playing well Carlsberg or some other easy drinking beer. If the Bills are playing poorly, then, Molson XXX...for obvious reasons.
  21. I keep this trend going.....
  22. Ditto - except I do not live in NC.
  23. Well done - us 'out of towners' love this stuff. Thanks.
  24. Given it was (a) a scrimmage (b) the first exposure to different colored jerseys as a starter © at Lambeau field (d) in front of 62000 rabid almost exclusive Packer fans (d) in an atmosphere that was playoff like (for example, Favre got a standing ovation for his image simply hitting the replay board) (e) a scrimmage (f) one week into the pre season (g) on the road (h) at the home field of his boyhood idol..... JP did exceptionally well. Anyone that thinks JP did poorly or terrible is way too pessimistic and border line sarcastic. Given all variables JP did better than most; he was set up for failure yet responded favorably. Can/ought he get better? absolutely. But, think about the situation and really evaluate what he did on the field - then the only conclusion that can be drawn is that JP looked very good. Like some of us here, I was there for all 4+ hours and it was a great time, overall. JP looked normal out there, not out of his element at all. By the way, our OL is going to be nasty this year. Opposing defenses will dread when we run the ball - especially by the time the third quarter rolls around.
  25. My family and I were proudly in attendance as well. I did count three other Bills fans out of the 30,000 people I passed on the way in and out and while walking around the stadium. We were certainly not well represented at this outing. I am quite sure we were the only Bills fans in section 114. It was a great exprience though, 62,000 people in attendance for a SCRIMMAGE. The fireworks at the end capped a great two days of football. Everyone needs to experience Lambeau field -
