  1. This thread begs for the famous Marv Levy quote regarding your actions "speaking" so loudly that noone can hear what you say. This is a great time for JPL to say absolutely nothing. Keep the trap zipped shut, firmly shut. And he just needs to be doing exactly what Wyche says. All day, all night, day in, day out, just learn from Sam. Wyche needs to own JPL for the next 6 months. Simply own him and stay on top of him like a helicopter parent (aka a hovering presence). As stated earlier there is nothing JPL can say that would make him sound smart. JPL needs to show his teammates that he is working for the starting job, not like it has been handed to him.
  2. And that qb would be?..............? I am just fishing.
  3. Supporters of the Bills "encouraged" mean and adamant responses? And your post does NOT do that? Wow, you are super clever, insightful, and so ATYPICAL of a Bills fan. Who are you and where do you come from? No need to reply, I am pretty sure I could summate your whole life story in about one paragraph, maybe two. Pure simpleton.
  4. Ditto. While I still have some reservation about releasing DB I also fully understand you gotta move on and try something new in life sometimes, this seemingly is one of those football times. Regardless, DB (aside from Frank Reich) was probably the most stand up, respected, mature and worthy of role model status we as Bills fans could have possibly asked for from the QB position. No negatives to speak of from a character standpoint (unlike most if not all others in RECENT team history). Well done DB. Onward to rooting for the Bills under the leadership of JPL.
  5. Actually I was living and working here in hoosier land so I could not be at the stadium but I watched the entire game, every second, and it was a gem. Nice try at slamming me though. When you graduate from highschool you will eventually see that your words are hypocritical and weak. But that is to be expected. And actually, I do not have an ugly head.
  6. Before we get all warm and fuzzy, does it say anywhere that JPL initiated this "great humanitarian act" of good faith on being the first to report? I kinda of believe Mularkey was on the phone about one week ago to JPL and said:" Son you got two choices, be the first one in and compete for the job or come in when your ready and back up DB. What is it going to be?" It does make a difference you know. Doing something at the point of a bayonet is slightly different than doing something on your own accord.
  7. Sounds about right until you consider the DB bashers would like the job handed to JPL. Which is predicatable because they tend to have that entitlement mentality which has it's genesis in living in WNY for.......wait wrong forum. I apologize.
  8. And you clearly have contributed much to this thread. Well answer me this Einstein, other than NJ Sue whom else is crying? Yea I did not think you could answer that. Again, nice contribution.
  9. I know I am only working with an rural WNY education, but this has got to be the absolute worst post ever. The gall of Douggie Fruities relatives finding this gem of a site and posting that opening thread. Why we ought to......I can not even think of a comeback to that nauseating thread. Jesus if that were to ever happen I would absolutely become a Colts fan immediately, and never look back. I would rather the Bills up and move to LA, I could live with that; but Fruitie back at quarterback - that would end it for me - no mas no mas!!
  10. As any and all self respecting WNY native and Bills fan s have posted before, it has to be Doug Fruitie....hands down....not even close. What a waste. Classic line when interviewed after our Bills beat the Dolphins at home and he was asked how it felt to beat the dolphins his reply? "...well I did not have a chance to do much (sic) ..blah blah blah" it sounded like someone just stole his puppy. From that minute on I knew he was not about the team - it was all about Douggie.
  11. I really don't think you want to go there with that.....Henry alone lost more games for the bills than bledsoe did, and lindell?.....are you serious? I have come to the realization that Bledsoe is done here and I am fine with that as he severely underperformed - no doubt - but henry? Are you kidding? Did you not notice the severe spike in WINS when Henry left the line up? henry, as much of a "warrior" people made him out to be did not do much. I don't care how tough your are if you lack the intelligence and savvy to play effective football you are a liability and cannot contribute to a winning. Flat out henry cost us games by simply playing.
  12. The biggest question though, seriously, who cares? I would love for the NBA and MLB to follow suit. One can dream can't they?
  13. Thanks all - onto the ladder I go.
  14. I have had the dish up for about 8 years and I sort of neglect the signal strength and noticed mine at 70. I vividly recall setting it higher than that during the original installation (self). I remember it to be 79. My question, what is a typical signal strength? Thanks in advance.
  15. Let me say in advance that my reply will probably help move this thread....here it goes..... This whole concept of income redistribution is troubling. While I would like to be as wealthy as Warren I am not jealous of it nor envious that he should "give me" some as I have done nothing too earn that kind of money. I am happy with what I earn as it is fair. Yesterday in the Indianapolis Star a city resident wrote in and said that her, her husband, and her four kids are having a hard time living on her INCOME as 83% of her income is spent on rent. It goes on to say that her INCOME is soley derived from federal aid as both adults are unemployed (probably able to work but for reasons unbeknowst to us) they are not working. That she considers federal and state assistance based on our tax dollars as INCOME, her INCOME is amazing. I don't want to be harsh or unforgiving for those truly in need as I have no problem with people getting taken care of when they CANNOT take care of themselves, but for those that abuse that American benefit I simply am disgusted at them.
  16. Apparently they are closed for the evening or on break as I just wasted, er strike that, watched for a few minutes and absolutely noone was visible. I saw the images on the computer monitor shimmy so I knew I was getting a live feed. The calm before the storm? One can only hope.
  17. Who did the Bills play opening day '03? I seem to forget, as do you. You are confusing many points. One of which is the thread theme. That is ok, though, as it is a trend around here. I stand by my earlier post and the results of the poll as it stands, the nexus of this post is an age post. That is not myopic it is reality. Argue all you want, but it is what it is. An experienced Bills fan (more than 25 years of being a fan) simply hates the Dolphins, no mystery, no spin, it is a hate thing. New Bills fans hate the Pats. Maybe if the Pats "spank" the Bills over two decades we can agree about hating the Pats. As of now you have to respect the Pats. That is all, no where am I suggesting becoming a fan. Just respect. Knowing and having a bit of History is only good, just wait ,your time will come. Now get off my swing, I am older than you
  18. The Bills went 0-20 to the pats in the 60's? I must have missed that. With all due respect, what is your point? I think the poll and the other posters who cite either the streak, or the 70's or 0-20 pretty much support my argument. I never referred to any historical context of the league itself as your post implies.
  19. This is really an "age" thread. No way can anyone who has been a Bills fan for more than 25 years hate the Patriots more than the Dolphins. Impossible. Hating the Patriots is comical. Now, hating the Dolphins - that is justified. And by the way for all the so called Bills "fans" out there who are now starting to hate the Patriots, understand I am indifferent to the Pats not a fan of theirs, I also admire well played and smartly coached football. Respectively, unfortunately, Brady and Belichick do those well. I am just stunned that a Bills "fan" can hate the Pats more than the dolphins. Hearing that reminds me of those lists that say "The kids born today will never have seen an 8-track, blah, blah, blah".
  20. It is all timing. Aikmen should be, and in some circles, is given that recognition. But his success was a few years ago - I am sure during his peak his name was mentioned in the same sentence as Montana and Bradshaw. So if his time were now, we would be saying the same thing about him. The only other reason this board might not have been endorsing him so much because he was beating the Bills in the big game. Your point is taken, but it is probably a timing thing more than anything.
  21. Are we really witnessing a generational and historic NFL coaching legend in Belichick? Though I wish it were someone affilitated with the Bills, as much as anyone despises the Pats and BB, you have to admit he is among the best ever. That is hard to type, but it is what it is. When someone in this day and age ties Vince Lombardi's coaching playoff record you cannot deny the significance of that - stats do not lie. After perusing some of the "Pats haters" on this board, I am slightly stunned at their profuse denial. Belichick and Brady are some of the best NFLers....ever.....ever. We are talking Lombardi and Montana. Anyway, as I have posted before while I am no Pats fan, sometimes you gotta appreciate the "other side" and man-up to the facts.
  22. You will find wind has almost no effect on the satellite while heavy rain will. I have had the dish for about 8 years now and snow has settled on it and we have had hail, winds, tornadoes, and the only thing to interupt the signal is a heavy downpour.
  23. In no particular order: (a) Mark Cuban's job; whatever that is. (b) Head of landscaping at a tropical golf resort © Lifeguard, kinda in the mode of David Hasselhoff Yet, I enjoy my job as is. And it is like the house I live in, certainly neither are my "dream" versions, but I would be hard pressed to trade either of them in.
  24. That is the beauty of movies - we all got our opinions, no?. As evidenced by this thread there is no agreement.
  25. I second that. Old School ---- hilarious. Anchorman ---- boring. A true yawner. Dodgeball ---- frickin' hilarious.
