  1. While they might be annoying to some, I like them for several reasons and I am pretty sure there is not a bigger NFL / Bills enthusiast than myself. First, it makes it super easy to teach my kids a bit about the flow of the game. We are trying to raise Bills fans right? The lines actually make it easy to point out key landmarks. Second, Bobblehead, my wife, yesterday, literally and seriously asked if the lines were on the field and whose job was it to move it all the time. The lines are so NOT a high stakes issue, it is the on-the-field play that matters.
  2. Regarding your thread title, I disagree with the generality of "..we all hate the...". Sure, I hate the dolphins, I hate the Jets, but honestly am pretty indifferent to the Pats. While there is a lot to be jealous of regarding the Pats, that does not make me hate them. Again, the dolphins - yes. Jets - yes. I just honestly cannot hate exemplar football coaches and players just because they are rival. In fact, the content of your thread tends to support that. Hating success is so..not right. But, I do agree we should take a few pages if not chapters out of the Belichick manual of coaching in the NFL. Impressive.
  3. Geez, those pics are actually disturbing, especially given the "title" of them. I agree they have to come from a Colts fan.
  4. Ok, but remember you asked...........Ronnie Jones, the headset, Joe Pendry, DF/RJ, the comment [no playoff chance yet we did], Mike Shephard, Carl Mauck.....thanks for the prompting.
  5. No I cannot blame you. Let's not hope three decades evolve between Jimbo and our next superstar QB.
  6. My bad, what was I thinking? I agree - I did not even notice that gaffee. But anyway, I hope JPL earns the right to be said and typed in the same. Notice the period.....sentence as Jimbo.
  7. Can anyone believe it has been about 10 years since we have had a true playmaking and Pro-bowl caliber quarterback - it is time to find out if JPL is the second coming. Who, seriously, would have thought Jim Kelly would have been the last true blue winner quarterback for us? And please, do not "teach" me about the little one [df], he nor RJ nor TC nor anyone other Qb was near the calibre Jim Kelly was. Let us hope JPL has potential. Lord knows some members of this board need that potential.
  8. Wouldn't it be great to have both TH and DB traded to division rivals? Seriously, how great would it be to face both of them at the same time. DB simply not making plays and TH either fumbling or not picking up blitzs or just playing well below NFL standards. We should not fear either of them.
  9. We should all be whistling and kicking our heals if we can get Miami to agree to a player for player trade with TH, much less something involving the second pick OVERALL. That is beyond comprehension albeit fun to ponder. A bit of reality is always a good thing, but hey it is the offseason so dreaming is ok also. Heck, I like thinking about the Bills going 16-0 next season and then 3-0 in the subsequent post-season. So, please don't rain on my parade. As I will try not raining on yours. Having said that, I dream of a player for player trade for TH. No draft picks please.
  10. First, great post / poll. Second, for some reason I think we should get a player not a pick. I really do not have a solid argument for that other than a gut feeling that a player seems to be a smarter move. I voted for a reserve, but capable TE. Ideally I would want a starting TE but the poll question is MINIMUM so I think something is better than nothing. Given whomever our QB is for '05 it seems apparent a quality TE is essential to our offensive production, this coupled with our need given the health status of our current TE is why, again, I vote TE. But I am also not NFL GM material, so who knows.
  11. Free is Free is Free. The upside, you have no vested interest or emotions linked to either team so you CANNOT be dissappointed with the outcome. Hence, no pressure plus going with a group of friends might equal a great time. Negatives: as you and all have already said, an 8 hour drive is an 8 hour drive. Not much fun in that unless it is in a 15 passenger van with everyone then it could be fun. Bottom line, if you have the time and do not have another responsibility at home, go.
  12. Absolutely Agree! The MLB and NBA should follow the lead of the NHL and get the "puck" out of here. I would much rather watch Cricket, Badminton, paint drying, or even the A&E channel before I would watch the other three "sports". Heck, I bet the PGA, LPGA, or NASCAR put on better sports events to watch.
  13. I initially said no, however, I would vote yes. For several reasons, none so much as the fact we have had "!@#$s" on the Bills before. In fact, Marv or Bill Polian were kinda susceptible to picking up "questionable" characters if it might improve the football team. Does anyone remember Reggie Rogers? While it was not a huge trend it has happened before and really what has Moss done that is that big of a deal? This is where sports enthusiasts tend to go overboard. Randy Moss is not, should not, and will not be a role model to my children so what do I care what he does on the football field? Or anyone else for that matter? He only embarrasses himself. Geez, Leonard Little is still playing. Bruce Smith certainly was not perfect. I like to keep professional sports in perspective. It is not a big deal until the media goes ballistic and throws everything he does in our faces all the time. Is this really that big of an issue? Randy Moss garners national headlines because he acts like an idiot. Big deal. He didn't commit a crime did he? Move on.
  14. Interesting game. I probably spent too much time exploring with it. I finally solved it with the help of the "step by step" directions from the resident expert. I never would have figured it out otherwise. Peculiar and somewhat fun, though I did feel like an idiot a few times - but that is not new.
  15. Ok, I will man-up here and say you won the argument. Really, I do not need to be right or think I am more clever than you. Your point is taken. There is no need for any more cheap shots. I gave a cheap shot and you gave it back - fair enough. I am being serious. I respect your position, I don't agree with it, but who cares.
  16. Strike a nerve Frances? Slow down, exhale, and think before you type next time. And, oh, don't speak for me. Sir? I will take that as a compliment, but using my words against me (pansy-ass) that is truly clever. Well done mental midget.
  17. Thanks for not being too personal and see my response above.
  18. No. If JPL comes into camp fit, PREPARED, ready to learn and not super "jumpy" I say put him in ASAP. But if he does not, then why bench DB? Just because? Everyone here is so keen on "data" to support their claims, the bottom line is that the Bills (not DB) were 7-1 this year against losing teams and 2-6 against teams with winning records. As such, everyone needs to ramp up their skills to be more competitive not just DB. The blame of our early season losses is easy to spread around. To isolate DB is about as pathetic as singling out TH. Remember, this is DB second or third OC in how many years and who knows how many if any QB coaches he has had. It was his FIRST year with Sam Wyche and look at the improvement. Maybe next year he will perform in big games better - I have no problem admitting he looked pitiful in the big games, but you know what, so did other Bills. By the way, a lot of pro QB's look pitiful in big games do I need to name names here or do we get the point?
  19. Mickey, Please understand the audience you are speaking to (anti-DB). Logic escapes them. They live in a zero sum world. They know all. They will boo if DB starts next year, even if he outperforms all competitors. They know all. That is why they are all experts of the NFL. Can't you tell by their objective and mature writing style that they are a very thoughtful, smart, and fair bunch? By reading their season long pansy-ass posts I have learned that the Bills won inspite of DB and lost due to him. I hope you learn this lesson as it is a very powerful one. I just wish DB would have tackled the Pittsburgh runners last Sunday, I wish he would not have committed so many penalties, I wish he would have made that field goal, I wish he would have blocked the third string defenders better, I wish he would have punted better, I wish he would have tackled better on special teams, and finally, I wish he would learn how to field a punt and not fumble it. Good luck.
  20. I am an alum of Canisius College as well.
  21. Absolutely, bar none, one of the best posts ever. Kinda funny how things work out. Is there a lesson here?
  22. It is better to be an assclown that supports DB and the Bills rather than a microphallic whiner pissant like the DB bashers. Life is good. It will be nice to roam TBD this week and hopefully read smart posts about football versus infantile wet-dream writing about how the Bills win DESPITE DB. Ha -
  23. Maybe you should try reading comprehension baby einstein. By the way, logic is as much science as it is art. Also, where did I say that 95% of us are promoting him as "our" guy? - your quote not mine. Jesus - read a post before popping off at the hip. Lighten up Francis.
