  1. I think Jim mostly commented on QB because that is what he knows and that is what he focuses on. I'd be willing to bet if it was Bruce Smith in his place the entire commentary would've been about how the defense needed to tackle better and pressure the QB more to force turnovers. That is not to say either of them are wrong, just that they each have their perspective they view the game from.
  2. 2002 we were 5th with Bledsoe. Highest since then is 15th in 2011 with Fitz
  3. You do know Sammy wasn't available for 9 games this year, right?
  4. Dallas also had the 5th ranked scoring defense. (We ranked 16th). Miami had the 17th best scoring offense, we finished 10th. Why do you want our offense to be more like theirs?
  5. 3/12 is 25% of the playoff teams. You can't dismiss a quarter of your statistical sample, especially when it's only from one end of the spectrum.
  6. I predict that the Patriots and Falcons do not lose this week.
  7. Lynn has been interviewing for HC positions since he was on the Jets staff with Ryan. He isn't a new hot name, he's been making the rounds for a while.
  8. I disagree. 12 teams make the playoffs and 16th is average. Teams that have made the playoffs are simply less consistent at being average than us.
  9. Adam Schefter Retweeted Josina Anderson ‏@JosinaAnderson 38m38 minutes ago Source texts me that #Bills interim head coach Anthony Lynn is scheduled to "meet with San Francisco tomorrow."
  10. Isn't Bortles in his 3rd year? I feel like they could move on from him pretty easily if need be.
  11. So they're being touted as the best choice and most likely to land the top candidate, but ultimately won't?
  12. Hasn't it also been reported that he isn't Whaley's first choice? Feeling's mutual pal.
  13. I'm not calling Sammy a bust by any means, and I know measurables aren't everything, but is it worth pointing out that Julio is bigger, faster, stronger, and has a better vertical?
  14. Here are their stats for the past 2 years: A. Smith: 6988 Pass Yards, 7.29 YPA, 35 Pass TD, 15 INT, 632 Rush Yards, 7 Rush TD, 2015 Passer Rating 95.4, 2016 Passer Rating 91.2 T. Taylor: 6058 Pass Yards, 7.42 YPA, 37 Pass TD, 12 INT, 1148 Rush Yards, 10 Rush TD, 2015 Passer Rating 99.4, 2016 Passer Rating 89.6 I bolded the winner in each stat.
  15. Alex Smith. His current contract has cap hits of 15.6M, 17.8M, 16.9M, and 20.6M. A couple years ago he had 0 TDs caught by WRs, and over the past 2 years Tyrod's stats have been equivalent or better in everything except passing yards and completion %.
  16. Kind of tough to slump, or succeed for that matter, when you aren't even on the field, no?
  17. 2 TD's off the board. 1 30+ Yard Run called back on Holding, 1 30+ Yard Pass called back on an Incognito chop block
  18. First, The post you quoted was regurgitating a paraphrased opinion of another poster, whom I suspect will corroborate or correct me on the stance. Second, have you seen the QB options available this offseason? It's a pretty easy guess to say letting go of Tyrod will mean a dip in offensive production next year. The question being debated is simply how much will it dip and how much of a dip is acceptable.
  19. But a few have admitted they are okay with getting worse (assuming they are correct and the drop off to the replacement isn't a giant cliff). I know I've at least seen GunnerBill take that stance.
  20. I found it really interesting that despite our 8% improvement our average drive time got shorter.
  21. Based on the NFL Offensive Drive Statistics we were worse than KC last year, but slightly better this year. 2015: BUF - 36.8% of drives ended as 3&Out or a turnover (.279 3&O; .089TO), resulting in an average drive time of 2:46 KC - 29.9% of drives ended as 3&Out or a turnover (.226 3&O; .073TO), resulting in an average drive time of 2:47 2016: BUF - 28.7% of drives ended as 3&Out or a turnover (.218 3&O; .069TO), resulting in an average drive time of 2:43 KC - 29.3% of drives ended as a 3&Out or a turnover (.199 3&O; .094TO), resulting in an average drive time of 2:51
  22. He'll go to the first team that offers him $10M. Or was that last year?
  23. All current staff were informed by Elway that they are not in consideration for the job.
  24. I get the feeling Kyle is going to go to Denver to replace Kubiak.
