  1. this is all just IMO, but Chad was a 3rd-5th type before he got hurt, now I'd put him at 6th-UDFA.
  2. He can't walk yet anyway, they'd need to trade for him. I don't disagree though, their price may simply be too steep for us.
  3. To be clear, I say McCarron because if we move on from Tyrod we need to embrace the full tank. McCarron/Murray looks like taking a shot on potential, but really puts us in premium position to draft our solution.
  4. Keep working with Cardale Make a move for AJ McCarron or Aaron Murray Keep Tyrod or let him go, if the latter bring in another FA
  5. Nix always said exactly what he wanted. I believe the year we drafted Spiller his official comment pre-draft was 'We want a pass-catching scatback' or something to that effect.
  6. Probably depends on what DC's get HC looks this offseason
  7. Not disagreeing with any of what you said, but the Defense has also been a pretty big difference between Seattle (when RW came in) and Buffalo. Winning breeds confidence.
  8. I'd have to check Schefter's twitter...
  9. Some comment conversations for additional context: and
  10. And the wildcard 'contender' is without their starting QB, right?
  11. Unless Lynn gets the nod to be HC.
  12. They both win wherever they go in college because they are able to recruit and field a vastly superior team than their opponents in nearly every game they play. THat strategy doesn't work in the NFL
  13. Packers & Hokies EDIT: Just saw the and beyond part. Obviously still the Bills...
  14. Who said anything about being afraid? It simply feels like a poor use of assets to spend a 4th and a 1st on a roster spot reserved for the 3rd string project in back to back years. Especially considering that most people thought Cardale was 2 years away from being ready last year. So even if Kizer is a 1 year project they are essentially on the same timeline at this point, but Cardale has a year in the organization already. My statement was more about opportunity cost than anything. If they feel good about their current project then that 1st could be a game changing weapon for him instead of his possible replacement.
  15. I do believe that the Harbaugh in Baltimore's contract is up after this year, but that doesn't fit with having things in place now.
  16. Probably Marvin Lewis and the Bengals. Year Record 2003 8-8 2004 8-8 2005 11-5 2006 8-8 2007 7-9 2008 4-11-1 2009 10-6 2010 4-12 2011 9-7 2012 10-6 2013 11-5 2014 10-5-1 2015 12-4 2016 5-7-1
  17. So I think it's fair to assume our owners aren't in negotiations with a coordinator that currently has a job. If we remove big names that are irrelevant (Gruden, Cowher, etc.) I think you're left with Tom Coughlin, Mike Shanahan, and Lovie Smith.
  18. And to clarify, that's not an argument to not take him. The organization just needs to weigh whether he's significantly better than Jones, so much that he warrants a high draft pick and cutting ties with our 4th round pick from last year. I haven't seen enough tape to make an educated argument on that front.
  19. I think he was stating that he'd have a winning record if we finish 9-7 this year
  20. Not that it's a big difference, but it's 2, right? Jags this year and Tenn last year? My grievances about Carp are based on the season's body of work, not just yesterday's. He's one of many things that simply aren't good enough.
  21. Here's some undeniable facts from yesterday's game: - Down 14 (due to a missed PAT), our offense scored a TD with 1:25 left on the game clock to bring the deficit to 7. - In order to recover an onside kick, the ball must travel 10 yards down field. Carpenter kicked a ball that went out of bounds approximately 4 yards down field from where it was kicked, removing any of what slim chance for a comeback remained. Does that absolve any other play from the day like allowing 225+ yards and 3 TD's on the ground or a stagnant offense through the first 3 quarters? No, but make no mistake, Carpenter was the final nail in the coffin of any comeback chances.
  22. Are you suggesting that Carpenter deserves to keep his job?
