NFL Combine List: Chad Kelly Not Invited

Chad Kelly will not be able to do anything outside of interviewing this offseason. -
We are already good at running. I think we need a passing plan!

Rob Quinn on Trubisky replacing Tyrod
BuffaloHokie13 replied to Maury Ballstein's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Certainly a good college QB, numbers-wise. Just hard to imagine a Top 10 NFL talent not unseating him. Maybe that's on the coach though, just like the coach at NC State who sent Russ Wilson packing for his senior year because he wanted to play baseball -

He was stuck behind a UDFA who got cut in September 2016 and isn't currently on any NFL team. -

Russell Wilson and Dak Prescott also both came into the league as at least 3 year starters. In Wilson's 3 years at NC State and final year at Wisconsin he faced 11 ranked opponents 2008: #13 South Florida, #22 UNC 2009: #15 Virginia Tech w/ Tyrod, #24 UNC 2010: #16 FSU, #22 West Virginia w/ Geno 2011: #8 Nebraska, #16 Michigan State, #19 Penn State, #17 Michigan State, #5 Oregon With Dak, again you need to understand that we aren't just looking at W/L, but quality of opponents. From 2013-2015 Dak faced 2013: Auburn (Lost National Championship to FSU), #10 LSU, #15 Texas A&M w/ Manziel & Evans, #1 Alabama 2014: #8 LSU, #6 Texas A&M, #2 Auburn, #5 Alabama, #19 Ole Miss 2015: #14 LSU, #14 Texas A&M, #2 Alabama, #18 Ole Miss Over their careers each of them played against as many quality opponents as Trubisky has faced FBS opponents period. This isn't to say he's terrible or definitely won't work out, just that his body of work is concerning. -

My Realistic Off-Season 8 step Plan
BuffaloHokie13 replied to Stussy109's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
1) I definitely think Tyrod is our best shot at being successful as a team with a bridge QB. 2) I agree for different reasons. Gilmore wants elite corner money because he's a press man CB. We will be running a primarily zone scheme, which while I'm sure he can execute just fine, isn't worth the contract we'd need to pay him in my opinion. 3) We have Sammy, Listenbee, and Walt Powell on contract. I agree we need a draft pick, preferably in the top 3 rounds, and an FA. I'd personally like to see us bring back Hunter, draft Malachi Dupre, and bring in an FA such as Jeremy Kerley or Brian Quick. 4) I'm not a Woods fan, so no qualms with this. 5) If AW decides to come back then good for him I suppose, but we need to continue building our roster as if he doesn't exist because his longevity is most certainly in question. I'd like to see us grab one of the top 3 Safeties in the draft as well (Adams, Hooker, or Baker). 6) I'm not for the QBs this year, and I still have hopes for Cardale. Just my personal opinion. I'm sure 1 of them will be a top half starter in the league and people will point to them and say 'See, it wasn't a bad QB class like 2013!' but I couldn't tell you which one it'll be and I don't feel great about any of them in the top 10 if I'm a GM. My plan would be keep Tyrod, bring in an experienced backup, and continue to develop Cardale and evaluate throughout the year. 2018 invest whatever you have to to move up and get the prospect you feel best about. 7) Dareus certainly needs something to get on track. I hate the contract we gave him, but we are more than committed at this point so something needs to happen to ensure that if he misses any games it's an injury and not another suspension for not using his brain. 8) With McDermott & Frazier coming in I suspect this is likely what we'll see, though I don't know how much blitzing we'll see. This should become more clear as we work through FA & the Draft. -
The only Mahomes thread you need

Our 2nd round pick is #44, shouldn't we hope he lasts until 44 and not 42? -
That extremely poor 6.9 YPA put him 21st, not 26th, and ahead of Cam Newton (22), Eli Manning (25), Joe Flacco (27), Blake Bortles (28), and Carson Wentz (29). http://www.espn.com/nfl/statistics/player/_/stat/passing/sort/yardsPerPassAttempt The very good 2015 was actually 7.99 YPA, which put him 5th in the league that year. Over his 2 years starting his YPA is 7.42, which I find more than respectable.

How do you think we fit the 4-3?
BuffaloHokie13 replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I doubt it. I'd be surprised if he makes it out of the top 14 picks. Jack's medical history cast concern on his longevity in the league, a bit different imo. -

I think Switzer will go in the 4-6 range, I just don't know if we'd take him.
