  1. It's interesting, if you look at our last 3 HC's (not counting Lynn's interim game) Marrone's specialty was supposedly OL and our OL became awful during his tenure. Rex was known for defense and he came in and destroyed a top 5 defense. At least with McD the Defense is improving (albeit inconsistent). That gives me hope that as pieces get put into place the O will improve. Trouble is I have serious questions on whether our FO can adequately evaluate offensive talent.
  2. When we had the weapons (and they were healthy) the offense worked. Cycling back to the topic at hand, KB ain't a weapon.
  3. The first 3 years had quite a bit of consistency across the OL. You now say 'not drastically different' but the reason I posted that in the first place was because you said very different! Miller is the same guy, Castillo is just terrible compared to Kromer (and I addessed that earlier). And why are people all of the sudden forgetting that Roman was here through the 2016 offseason and Lynn wasn't the OC until week 3. Lynn even stated that he was utilizing Roman's playbook, but just paring down the number of plays.
  4. Glenn, Incognito, Wood, Miller, Mills Glenn, Incognito, Wood, Miller, Mills Glenn/Dawkins, Incognito, Wood, Ducasse, Mills Dawkins, Ducasse, Groy/Bodine, Miller, Mills
  5. QB, OL, and RB/TE were essentially the same for the first 3. Playbook was the same for the first 2. The change to Castillo & Dennison was certainly a factor, but removing players that require the defense's attention and not replacing them is the biggest issue.
  6. First, I think you're missing the forest by focusing on trees. I don't really care how the WRs perform specifically if my offense is functioning effectively. Sammy had the best year of his career in 2015. He definitely performed, and it was in an offense that used terrible pass concepts. Second, look at our offensive performances when we did have WRs and as the WR Corps deteriorated: 2015: (Watkins, Woods, Hogan, Goodwin, Harvin for like 3.5 games) Offensive DVOA: 9th Passing DVOA: 12th Rushing DVOA: 2nd 2016: (Watkins for 8 games, Woods, Goodwin, Hunter) Offensive DVOA: 10th Passing DVOA: 18th Rushing DVOA: 1st 2017: (Jones, Matthews, Thompson, Benjamin) Offensive DVOA: 26th Passing DVOA: 28th Rushing DVOA: 19th 2018: (Benjamin, Jones, Holmes, McCloud) Offensive DVOA: 32nd Passing DVOA: 32nd Rushing DVOA: 24th
  7. Veteran WRs are a young QBs best friend. I disagree completely with nearly the entire premise of your post. Part of the reason our QBs are struggling is because we ignored WR in the first place.
  8. Well we wouldn't be publicly shopping him because he's underperforming. And Keenum hasn't exactly lit the world on fire this year. I think it'd be a step in the right direction.
  9. I wonder if Denver would do a straight swap for DT? They unload a bad contract and we unload an unhappy player?
  10. 3 lbs ground beef (90/10) 2 medium yellow onions, chopped 4 cloves of garlic, minced 2 poblano peppers, chopped & seeds (mostly) removed 1 16 oz can each of Kidney, Black, and Cannellini beans, rinsed & drained 1 30 oz can crushed tomatoes 1 15 oz can diced tomatoes 16 oz beef broth 3 tbsp chili powder 2 tbsp cumin 1 tsp cayenne pepper 1 tsp oregano Brown the beef in a pan and drain off excess fat. Add everything to a slow cooker and mix well. Cook on low for 7 hours.
  11. Speaking of fast, then we could select Parris Campbell in the draft to complete the trio.
  12. We could do something similar. Let's sign Terrell Pryor and Braxton Miller to be our WRs!
  13. Well, if the Jets are signing Matthews then they likely are not re-signing Pryor. Pryor is a very limited WR that really only excels at one route (post), but I think that is a route that Allen could utilize.
  14. Because he sucked. He had 8 good games in 3 years.
  15. Yes, that one time 11 years ago it worked out.
  16. ?‍♂️ It's an offer I'd throw out there. If Cincy wanted to counter, or laugh, then that's their prerogative. Maybe they want Shady with their RBs banged up. Maybe they want Clay or Croom with Eifert out. There are counter offers to be considered. Cincy has let go of good but not great WRs in the past, so I'm thinking they may again. Especially with another young guy in the fold. At the end of the day this is a topic with escapism in the title. Just let me escape for a little bit.
  17. Divisional trades rarely make sense. If Miami is okay with him being in the division he isn't good enough. If they aren't then he isn't available to us.
  18. It would essentially be paying cap to upgrade their draft pick, which is not nothing. I'm not sure if you're ignorant to the situation or just underselling Ross, but Ross has played 176 snaps over the past 2 years and has gotten targeted on 11.4% of those snaps. He's had 7 catches, 2 TDs, and 2 Runs on those snaps. Boyd played 685 snaps in that timeframe and was targeted on 13% of his snaps. He's had 62 catches, 6 TDs, and 1 run on those snaps. Ross could certainly step into a more expanded role. And, as you pointed out, Eifert is out. KB gives you that big target in the red zone that Eifert had in the past. I don't think Benjamin is bad. I also don't think he's a #1. But in a role where he has AJ Green opposite him and John Ross coming out of the slot (plus a change of scenery) I think he would do quite well.
  19. For Cincy it gives John Ross an opportunity for an expanded role as a worst case, and you're banking on a minimal drop off from Boyd to Benji while upgrading your draft stock. The Abdullah/Shaq offer is just putting both players into situations where they have a chance at an expanded role.
  20. I'd ship KB and a 4th to Cincy for Tyler Boyd and a 6th. I'd offer a 6th to Denver for DT that could turn into a 5th based on performance. I'd offer Shady to Minnesota for Mike Remmers and potentially supplement with a late round pick, if necessary. I'd offer Shaq to Detroit for Ameer Abdullah.
  21. Dion Dawkins. (Admittedly the only offensive player added that I think is definitely good at this point) And no, that isn't a jab at Allen or hate. Allen could be very good, but at this point he is not yet.
