  1. +1 I think his best chance on D is as an attacking SS myself, he's not good in coverage, his eyes and movement needs to be going forward.
  2. Love that pick in the 5th or later (6th would be a steal).
  3. I hope he stays under the radar and he happens to be our pick in the 3rd, should it be Watson and Jones in rounds 1 & 2 respectively. That would be acceptable If by some chance he's there at 10 I expect him to be the pick. Edit: Not seeing him making to 10 however.
  4. Well said, I agree. Ross would be the perfect complement for a team like Atlanta where he can draw coverage down the field and not have to go over the middle and get killed. I wonder how his medicals will factor in, 2 ACL's and now a shoulder surgery. If Buffalo drafts him this place might implode, even if he's the 2nd coming of Antonio Brown.
  5. To the best of my knowledge it's all first round picks have the 5th year option regardless of slot.
  6. I think McDowell might be the most athletic DLman in the draft, possibly on par with Garrett, maybe more physically gifted. Technically he is limited IMO at this point in his development, hand wise for sure. I see Mario Williams physical talent in him and his poor attitude(?) and what I would consider lack of heart at times (although I think that is a different situation with McDowell not having a lot around him top a certain degree) and intrinsic motivation to boot. Elite athlete I get, but sell me on the rest if you dont mind, I can wrap my head around him. Besides the ankle, what happened last year? Is 2015 the real Malik?
  7. Short term pains for long term gains? Rather than "Stuck in the middle with you."
  8. Good call on Pocic, his height works against him inside and he loses the little power he has when he gets high, which he does more than one would like, he's got experience up and down the line, G was where I had him, made all line calls for the Tigers and has good movement skills for a big guy, I like the idea of him at tackle as it might be more natural of a position for him, could slide back inside if it didn't work. Key is a maniac, he is what "they" thought Dion Jordon could be. I really hope what ever is going on with him works itself out for the better, he's the best pass rusher I have seen at LSU and a hell of a football player. IMO he's every bit as good as Garrett and a top 5 lock next year, granted he is able to return.
  9. Seems pretty obvious.... Good God I hope Doug doesn't fall for it Cementing himself into the top 20? A willing blocker (clearly needing some work), with his athleticism and offensive skills? I think so. A DaQuan Bowers like fall? I think this causes him to fall out of the top 10 at least, but how far?
  10. Agreed on both fronts. The offense has been boring for years unless you like power running football. Just typing Jordan Jefferson is making me puke in my mouth a little, aside from Zach Mettenberger its been BAAAAD QB play in Baton Rouge, I had hope for Brandon Harris but he just has no feel for the passing game. The Alabama games for Leonard were abysmal because Saban and Co. know they could play zero coverage or C1, stack the box with 8/9 guys and dominate the LOS, Fornette never had a chance in those games, Alabama was great in run D to begin with. Carolina is a great fit, I actually think Buffalo would be as well. I do think he could develop into a 3 down back and his 3rd down skills are emerging, and the ankle injury hindered that development this year. His hands are not great, but not awful either, he had several big gains on swing passes and screens. I agree in theory about them turning pro, and maybe the could make a "special exemption" for guys like Fournette to declare earlier than year 3 given their physical characteristics, but realistically for the general college athletic population it would do more harm than good, the vast majority are not ready for it, mentally or physically. LF looks older than I do and I am nearly 2x his age, I think he could have gone pro after his freshman year personally. Lynch followed this comment with: "Did I mention the #2 pick is available for trade?" #Lyingseason, #KizersAutoSalesNoCreditNeeded
  11. No worries, phrasing is not my specialty by any means either 😉 just clarifying. Agree with the take him and run at 10, and your take on drafting him (if possible) and adding a vet at Safety being a good off season plan. I wouldn't mind taking 2 safeties in this draft either...
  12. Fair enough, I like to do both, comp coming out and comp ceiling (what they are and what they can be), fwiw... I loved me some Lee, if you recall, I agree on all fronts. Yup. and yup again (depending on who else may/may not be there.). Me to, sadly enough that might be true. Wayne is spot in IMO, his injuries do not appear to have long term effects or at least serious ones, if the surgeries cause him to fall to 10, we should be joyous, if other teams are short sighted good for us, long term thinking here should apply, not short term.
  13. ??? - its going to sound like Im picking a fight, but Im not trying too, are you nucking futs??? He's been dominate since stepping on the field in 2014 and against 8 man boxes the overwhelming majority of the time, at times 9, with really no QB worth a **** to back D's out of the box. Anyone who's followed LF's college career would strongly disagree. A high ankle sprain limited him in the 2nd half this past season and starting-during the season in general, he was still special watch him vs. Ole Miss for instance. However, hes been special since the day he arrived in Baton Rouge, sliced bread special. I get why people would rate Cook higher given how many offenses in the NFL operate today, but having watched every game Fournette has played in, he was starting to be targeted in the passing game at the end of 2015 and through this year they game planned to include him in the passing game, prior to that, not so much. He has improved significantly catching the ball out of the backfield in the last 8-10 games or so he's played in. He's not as natural at it as Cook is, but he can be a factor and needs to work on it, Cook drops more passes than the media is giving him credit for. Fournette needs to tighten up and give more effort as a blocker, but Cook has more than his fare share of issues in protection. Cook is also more of a "one trick" pony himself in a sense, he's not shown to be much ability to run between the tackles and likes to bounce it alot, and has more than his share of fumbles. Their long speed is comprible. I would disagree that gap is that big between the two, both are capable homerun hitters in their own right, one uses power the other agility and quick feet to reach their speed, DC is a better receiver naturally out of the backfield, but puts the ball on the ground more and is more of a liability in pass protection. I think they are both potential studs, team preference will vary. I agree about the broad jump Fire away.... Aargh...
  14. His playing weight was 234/5, 240 isnt that significant of a increase. His field/play speed is fine, he runs away from most and gets caught from behind by few. Im speculating that he runs a 4.5 or better, but when being chased he has an extra gear. I cant see him hurting his stock at the combine unless he commits an act of DV or pops on a drug test. His game tape says it all.
  15. The good thing with this draft is that there will be options even into the mid rounds with starters at CB and to a slightly lesser degree S's, zone corners in FA seem to be a little cheaper and Cockrell could be an interesting match as well. I like that the Bills are sticking to their guns with Gilmore, have a value on him and are sticking to it or dont view him as a schematic fit and arent trying to overpay to fit a square peg in a round hole potentially. I like the idea of spreading out Gilmores money to bring back 3 starters or to sign a corner and safety in FA, seems smart to me, not overpaying him should allow for greater roster flexibility, financially. The secondary as it is shaping up to be needs reinforcements badly at CB and S, it could become the worst secondary in the league in a hurry. If they want to compete next year they need to address it in the offseason with several new pieces with Gilmore in all likely hood leaving, AWill's health being a real concern and Graham being on his last legs and probably a depth player at this point in his career. Im not sure Darby fits either...
  16. There are more medical redflags in this draft than any I can remember, many seem like they are not serious in nature, but team doctors will be earning their keep.
  17. Looking at my top 50 board for Buffalo, that seems where the value for them at CB in this draft, lots of strong zone corners in that range. Dre Kirkpatrick in FA could be a solid get IMO at a much lesser cost than Gilmore and be a better schematic fit?
  18. He is a capable blitzer, I wouldn't call him a classic edge rushing LB, but I've seen him create pressure up the middle and get the edge off the edge and take a QB down, he's twitchy and fast enough that he's an very effective delay blitzer. The only drafting pass rushers theory gets you Gaines Adams or Jamal Anderson instead of Patrick Willis or Lawrence Timmons. If all things are equal, pass rusher or LB like I believe it's close this year with Foster and Garrett, then I would also go with Garrett, but if it's between Foster and the field of Passrushers other wise (maybe sub S. Thomas) it's Foster for me all day long, his over all skill set is that good IMO per my evaluations. The same as I would take Luke Keuchly over any pass rusher in the 2012 draft, hindsight included.
  19. Foster can play all 3 LB spots, he's not limited to ILB. Ragland could be the Sam or ILB in base D, Foster could as well, and Foster's athletic enough to be the WILL as well, he would actually upgrade the position as a whole and provide tremendous flexibility at the LB core. Foster would not have to leave the field no matter the situation, they could run base D in passing situations potentially.
  20. I had not thought about it like this, but a fair comparison (with Washington) at worst. I have thought that the Pegula's make it too many cooks in the kitchen for a while now, they seem more hands on more than they say they are. Lots of people harp on Whaley, but it seems like he's following the Pegula's orders with many things going on at 1BD.
  21. Depending on what they do at QB or CB and what money they have, maybe not so obsurd, especially if they start a rookie or C. Jones at QB, then putting money into the RB position makes sense, even if they still plan on being a run 1st offense. The 2nd round tender keeps other teams away and gives them time to work out a multi-year deal at a lower cap #. That would make sense, something similar to Deangelo Williams 2yr/4 million contract with the Steelers, just increase the bonus maybe? That would provide Shady injury insurance and if they cut Shady next year it would open the door for him to be a starter down the road, and to get paid as such down the road...
