Round 6 Pick 209 (31): OT Luke Tenuta, Virginia Tech

Good question. Makes me wonder if he can play the accordion. Judy can’t. -
Rd 6 pick 185 (6): CB Christian Benford, Villanova

It was mentioned that he could also be a safety candidate. I could see that. -
Rd 6, Pick 180 (1): Punter Matt Araiza, San Diego State

Awesome! Now we should quit while we’re ahead! -
Rd 5, Pick 148 (5): WR Khalil Shakir, Boise St

I’m a fan of this for a fifth round pick! -
Rd 3, Pick 89 (25): LB Terrell Bernard, Baylor
Mojo44 replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bernard presents as an ideal safety/LB hybrid. I think this position has been evolving on defense to match the recent evolution of NFL offenses. The more I find out about him the more I like this pick. -

The guy’s athletic measurables are top tier. His intangibles are top-tier. In college all he did was make plays. What’s the problem with so many of you? And the pick was made by, arguably, the best GM in the league, not the coach! -
Now that the dust has settled, I think this is an absolutely great pick given the context. The “tackling issues” Are not a big deal. Elam is more than a willing tackler and his film shows that. In fact, the guy is pure alpha! I think his tackling will be coached up easily. His speed and coverage ability rival any CB in the draft based on my reading. I don’t mind the trade up. Beane did what he had to do to guarantee Elam would be there. Well done Beane!

I’ve been a member for a few years now but this is the first thread I’ve started. It’s been some time since I’ve followed college football closely and this has been made worse by the fact that my team, Syracuse, has become an afterthought. I don’t post often, especially during the draft, because I’m not particularly well informed about prospects. Consequently I resort to many posters here who do so much in-depth work on this stuff. This is my first go to stop to catch up on all things Bills and all things draft. I could name a lot of names that would result in me leaving many out. I will put the name of Gunner out there because I think we all appreciate his in depth work. But there are many others for me. And for that, I thank you all. Not that I haven’t formed some thoughts of my own about the draft, anyway 😱. Some are actually somewhat informed. Most of them come under the category that a little knowledge is a dangerous thing. - With Beane anything can happen. But I would be surprised if they took a DT or edge rusher especially since they picked up Oliver’s 5th year option. - A trade up or down is always possible and would not surprise me. But if they stay at 25 I know CB four many is the logical pick. But given that Beane sees only 20 first round grades, if the guy they want isn’t there I think they wait until day two or even day three where there seem to be a few intriguing prospects. - WR is certainly a possibility. However by the time pick 25 comes around it seems that the only two left who might have first round grades are Dotson and Burks. In that case absolutely give me Burks. We have enough Smurf slot receivers. He provides a skill set not on the team including elite YAC ability. I also find Pickens intriguing. - i’m definitely not in the you never take a running back in the first round camp. It’s all contextual. If the Bills feel Hall is the way to go, I’m all for it. - I’ll close with one sleeper pick. Tarik Carpenter from Georgia Tech. 6’3” 230 lbs. he ran a 4.5 2 40 yard dash and had an 11’ 4” broad jump on his pro day. He played safety in college!! But he’s projected to be an LB in the pros. From what I’ve read he also seems to be a process guy. Anyway, that’s it. Thank you all again!

If this unlikely scenario happened, I’m all for it. Whoops, I forgot to quote the post I was responding to. Sorry. This is if Jordan Davis falls to us. And, hopefully, he doesn’t fall on any of us. BTW, I’ve had a couple of bourbons. Just saying

I’m assuming we still keep pick number 25. In that case, I like this one. Nicely done.

Well, that makes sense!

All Gunner's Draft Stuff.... 2022 Edition!!!
Mojo44 replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Great work and thank you gunner. When you get a chance I would love to hear your take on Tarik Carpenter of Georgia Tech. 6’3”, 230lbs. Played safety! in college. Projected to move to linebacker in the pros. 4.52 40 yard dash. Other measurable’s impressive. Intangibles reportedly impressive. What I have read is that he is likely a day 3 pick. He seems to fit the bill (pun intended) of the ideal hybrid safety/LB. I could see him taking on players like Kelce. His athleticism and versatility seem off the charts! Anyway, what’s your take on him? -
If LB Devin Lloyd is available at Pick 25......
Mojo44 replied to Special K's topic in The Stadium Wall
I haven’t read the entire thread. But it seems like the gist of it is if we were able to get Lloyd, we get rid of Edmunds. But in the case of the unlikely scenario that he is there a 25, why not take Lloyd and keep Edmunds for at least next season? As I understand it, Lloyd can play any of the linebacker positions. I know we usually play a 4-2-5 defense against most teams. But imagine the three linebacker set we would have with Lloyd when we went in that direction. He would also be great insurance against injury to one of the other two next season. Then, if they want to let go of Tremaine after next season, Lloyd will have a season under his belt to take over in the middle. -

If he is head and shoulders the BPA then I would take him or trade out of the pick. It’s highly unlikely he will be there at 25, but if he is it would likely be easy for the bills to trade out. if, on the other hand, they see a CB, WR or interior OL at or near the same level, I would go in that direction. I think much of this will depend on how many quarterbacks go before their pick -

Gunner's 2022 Draft Quarterback Evaluations
Mojo44 replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Excellent analysis and thank you OP. It does seem like a relatively weak quarterback draft this time around. But I agree, at least two and probably three will be taken in the first round. I think Willis and Pickett will go in the first for opposite reasons. -
What is your favorite football related phrase?

I don’t hear this one anymore for pretty obvious reasons. I always thought it was a little, let’s say, unusual: ” and he gets into the end zone unmolested!“ -
I just saw this. Love it! We have chickens and we named our rooster Dalton after that legendary bouncer who also happens to have a PhD in philosophy. And pain don’t hurt. Oh yeah, regarding the thread, of course we won’t get Fitz nor should we. But we should keep the legend of Fitz alive.
