  1. And the signings were not star/impact players, but complimentary players..... That is & always is the issue.
  2. However 27th in team passing, which is the proper measure. He is too 29th in yards/gm (ahead of only Case Keenum, Jacoby Brissett & Mason Rudolph!!!!!! Yep but more passing yards then Drew Brees, for which there is a simple explanation.. He has missed 1 quarter all year. You really aren't that stupid are you? Do you really want to go there? https://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2019/index.htm https://www.espn.com/nfl/stats/player/_/table/passing/sort/passingYardsPerGame/dir/desc BTW Baltimore is 13-2 & Lamar truly could shut it down in many games as they were well ahead, while the Bills shut it down often of their own accord & then needed points in the fourth.
  3. Sorry meant to add passing.... 27th in passing is not good by any measure.
  4. Yep he has Miami's #.... Unfortunately the last three times coming from behind in the 4th failed (Cleveland, Baltimore & NE)..... And again I blame the coaching not Allen. I've brought up stats continually & blame the coaching as they have not allowed Allen to be unleashed & see exactly what they had. They had Peterman start last year..... Take a look at every QB drafted top 15 & almost all have been quickly given the opportunity to sink or swim. Deshawn Watson being a prime example. Lamar too is who he is because Baltimore configured an offense for him & his skill set. The offense is better but still 27th this year..... By the way 47 games into McD's tenure & not a 300 yard game...... Had to throw that in.
  5. But the Offensive rankings have been 29, 30 & 24 the past three years (Yards). In 2016 they were 16th, which tells you how far they dropped with the arrival of McD..... They have improved, however look at Arizona's improvement, SF's, Baltimore or Tennessee..... Yes I expected a much better offense & still not happy with their offense.
  6. Why do other rookie QB's drafted high & considered the "franchise/future" come out & are given every opportunity to shine. The Bills in 2018 were ready to roll with Peterman (so stupid in so many ways) & did very little on the offensive side of the ball. A huge mistake & yet another reason that the Bills are behind schedule on O.... Again outside Rosen all highly drafted QB's have had big games in their first year, while Allen has had good/very good games, but no breakout performances......
  7. And it kills me that the Bills focus almost solely on the D & Allen could be so much further ahead with help & smarter play calling.
  8. The Daniel Jones comparison is interesting because that is exactly how they should have used Allen last year, throw a lot & learn on the job with a losing team (6-10) & see what they had..... But they didn't & now it is turning him into a game manager, when he was selected 7th to be the future (not Duck Hodges). Again Sunday is an interesting case in point, wanting to prepare for the playoffs & don't risk injury, but also to let him loose. The Bills coaching staff will probably play it close to the chest & again we'll be left wondering for the playoffs.
  9. Does he and to what extent? The red zone plays versus Baltimore and New England were terrible. Add to that playing for fgs in the red zone vs. Pitt and NE.
  10. How dare they mentioned 300 yards in their assessment. You want to make a bill's fan see red mention throwing for 300 yards
  11. 10-5 & the Bills have led by more then 2 TD's just once this year (16 vs. Miami)...... All on the coaching. Almost every game too was still in dopubt in the fourth (less then one score)..... Again hard to believe from a 10 win team.
  12. And again the timing of the misses is what hurts. The first to Knox was third down after nothing but runs. If that is on 1st down & then they get still have 2 more shots at either a first down or a TD it doesn't sting. I'll bet Brees, Brady, Watson & others have missed a throw on an early down, only to then recover the same series. That 1st & goal from the 8 were 3 bad plays & yep one that should have been completed, but the other three plays too were garbage. Heck I just checked the Baltimore sequence from the 18 on the last drive where they needed to score...... Guess what? A 2 yard run on first down & the next two plays "No Options"..... All on coaching again from what I see.
  13. Again apologizing or excusing the coaching staff. Frankly I could see Allen well ahead with Landry & Obj along with Chubb. The Bills are holding Allen back and we see it with their make no mistake and be thrilled if they score 20.…..
  14. Again read that I am excited about the Bills & as big a fan as there is (I'm here way too much). The point is their offense has been pretty much at the bottom of the league the last three years, and I don't see a concerted effort to improve. Better yes, but no where near their potential. I really too like Allen, but seeing how he is coached & how McD plays for 17 points a game is frustrating. I am tired of him being called a project, while Daniel Jones, Kyler Murray & a host of nobodies (and never will be's) are capable of lighting it up in their first few NFL starts. Again 47 games under McD (a 25-21 record) and not a single 300 yard game..... How that does not summarize the coaching issues/philosophy on that side of the ball, nothing does..... McD probably is calling the Army or Navy HC for ideas on the passing game...... ? Army Passing C/ATT YDS AVG TD INT QBR Christian Anderson 2/4 18 4.5 0 0 51.1 Kelvin Hopkins Jr. 1/2 7 3.5 0 1 40.3 TEAM 3/6 25 4.2 0 1 -- Navy Passing C/ATT YDS AVG TD INT QBR Chance Warren 1/1 1 1.0 1 0 99.0 TEAM 1/1 1 1.0 1 0 --
  15. And first 5..... 19, 29, 25, 1 & 13..... or right around @ 16 over the entire year.... Conversely Defense average strength of opposing Offenses 20.125 (in terms of points).
  16. I'm the Allen fan & thinkl he's been stunted & badly coached in a lot of ways.... I blame the coaching.... I also blame lack of reps and way too conservative an offense. BTW where does the Offense rank? In the bottom quarter.
  17. I know, appreciate football & am a Bills fan. I also can tell you they are not a fun team to watch...... I know as fans this is hard to understand, but they are a very boring team the way they play football.... K-Gun was fun, so was a lot of the Flutie run. OJ & ground & pound was not that exciting & McD & this coaching philosophy has been successful against a weak schedule going 10-5, however the games have not been overly entertaining..... Yep the Offense the past three years ranked 31, 30 & 24(or 25) too does not excite most football fans..... And the bothersome part is I think this offense could be fun to watch, McD & Daboll however won't allow it. Are none of you honest and can't see that?
  18. No the Defense is not too good..... See vs. NE, Cleveland & Baltimore. It was a creampuff schedule. They haven't done it in 3 friggin years...... You really think they are better on Defense then SF, Chicage, NE, Baltimore & others who also happen to throw for 300 (and Baltimore is the anomaly, however have the most points scored), while Buffalo again is near the bottom (25th in points).
  19. And I expect them to beat Houston in the playoffs, which is a very favourable match up. For those satisfied with beating the dregs, a couple of .500 teams & close vs. playoff teams, so be it. I want to beat good teams & yes would love to be entertained by an offensive explosion every once in a while. It's been so long since the Bills played a dominating 60 minutes (primarily on offense).....
  20. And again we see 10-5 and not a signature win..... The Dallas win is against a team that has one good win all season. Tennessee became the team they are now when they found their offense with Ryan Tannehill & at best 9-7.... Wins vs. MiamiX2, Cincy, Pitt (who probably won't make the playoffs), NYJ, Denver, NYG & Wash...... Not exactly a murderers row. Add to that some weak defensive teams & the Bills Offense still ranked 24th in the league. I want to see short & long-term success, as we've waited long enough as Bills fans.
  21. But the point is that NE was not better & I don 't get that they could be out coached again. They were too out coached by Baltimore's defense. Saturday it was both sides of the ball. Congrats they out coached Garrett & Dallas..... Interesting after the Dallas win we see Dallas squashed by Chicago & Trubisky..... Pittsburgh fighting for their playoff lives lost to the Jests scoring again only 10 points, which makes one wonder about those two Victories too. You say McDermott knows he must get better???? I could say it almost every week. When they needed that big call or decision & a play to be made at the end vs. Balt & NE, it was not there. Add to that the last drive vs. Cleveland playing for a 53 yard FG...... Those were all coaching issues. He talks a game (just like the need for the offense to score more points), however push comes to shove they don't. As said a very good write-up & probably my response was not fair, but my frustration with the coaching is palpable.
  22. Great write-up, but sorry again it fits your narrative & absolves the Bills of their fundamental weakness, in game coaching & lack of adjustments. Brady the prior 5-6 weeks was the Worst QB by all metrics in the NFL & is immobile. Vs. the #3 defense in the league he then carves them up. Sorry inexcusable. On offense again 14 points (as per Pitt 3 came off turnovers that had the Bills pretty much in the Redzone). What did they do both times..... Ran, Ran & Ran more. Again a game where they played good enough not to be blown out & that was all....... Another tough watch.
  23. No the fact this team for 3 years has not thrown for 300 yards & ranked 29th, 30th & a big jump to 24th (27th in passing) this year with this schedule in Offense is an embarrassment/joke. Yep I enjoy offense & love watching the Saints, Baltimore, KC, GB, Minn & all teams who can put up points. As said I hope I'm 100% wrong & McD goes all in on O & spends the majority of the $90 million on that side. Go back to your 10-7 barnburners you yearn for.
  24. Everything has aligned & the Bills won the games they should have, were competitive week after week. However they also put no teams away, have no killer instinct & continued to rely too much on McD's bread & butter, the Defense. Yes we're Bills fans, but need to acknowledge offensively they are pretty much like watching paint dry week to week. Yes I know they are lousy teams (all of whom the Bills played this season), but look at yesterday's Mia vs. Cincy & Wash vs. NYG game for exciting Offense..... BTW the Jets beat Pitt, who again we considered a "Signature" win.
  25. So tell me oldmanfan is there a wr they can sign & reasons why they want to play in Buffalo with a team that never throws for 300 yards? And we know if a wr is drafted, we'll know that there is a learning curve & they can't be a star out of the gate. Should I expect more?
