  1. Using McD, who is a defensive coach, as a link is crazy too. I'm not trying to shoot the messenger because I've seen this too, but Daboll has nothing to do with Cam. We have no idea what type of offense he will run or if he has the ability to modify his system to his players. It's far too soon for a lot of this.
  2. The problem is that you are using combine stats as evidence. Every single year there are combine MVPs that make themselves looks much better than their actual game play. Newton had a 66.1% cmp 10.2 y/a 30td and 7int for a 182 rating. Add to that another 20 tds and 1500 yards rushing. That's against the best defenses in the country. Even if you want to go with Wentz the numbers aren't even close. Josh Allen may end up being very good, but lets not start making these crazy comparisons with combine numbers. This board has devolved into reposting highlight videos to try and prove how good someone is. Let's just wait and see what happens and not put some crazy expectations on a QB who needs a lot of work and polish.
  3. There is zero tape to back up the assertion that he is as athletic as Cam. I can't think of any QB I've ever seen at that level. The size might be close, but he doesn't even have Cam level tape in the WAC.
  4. Why does everyone keep bringing up Newton? Newton absolutely dominated the toughest conference in college football. I understand that his team was bad, but the only tape against power 5 competition for Allen is horrid. It's near impossible to judge anything about how he will fare against even tougher defenses. Typically the small school QBs who garner huge interest are dominating their own divisions and often putting up numbers against better competition.
  5. Did we draft Tom Brady too? Lol. I'm willing to give Daboll a shot, but coaches from that team are almost never successful in the NFL. Even O'Brien is a healthy Andrew Luck away from missing the playoffs ever year and being fired.
  6. Last year we grabbed a bunch of slot guys and tried to force them outside. I hope that isn't the plan again.
  7. Is it just me, or does this regime seem to have an unhealthy obsession with slot receivers?
  8. There is literally nothing else to that offense but him. They were always in a hole and forced to throw a ton while other teams ran at will against them. It was a very bad team, but I don't think that had anything to do with him.
  9. I love that Rosen had to throw for almost 500 yards for a one point victory and people still don't understand how bad UCLA was. In the A&M game, the defense gave up close to 400yds rushing that put him in a huge deficit for both points and time. I mean he threw for 480yds in a loss to Stanford, but people will still doubt him.
  10. Having watched a lot of his games against both lower and top tier defenses, he shrinks against better competition. I know that his team isn't great, but the majority of his stats come against low level competition and garbage time. IMO, he doesn't keep his eyes downfield when scrambling, which separates him from many successful dual threats. I just don't trust a guy who can't win big games.
