  1. Or a 40 year old future HOFer. I pretty much agree. For those that don't like the throw, you are just going to have to learn to deal with it. I fully expect to see it every season from Allen throughout his career. It's just how he plays. I'm fine with it. Take the good with the bad when it comes with Allen. As long as he producing far more good than bad he will stick around and have a nice career.
  2. Meh. He is a hero ball player and that is what makes him so great. Got to take the good with the bad. You know who else was supposed to learn to not do that? HOFer Brett Favre. Heck he was still doing it at 40 years old with the Vikings.
  3. Allen will always be at his best playing hero ball. We are just going to have to learn deal with it when it blows up in our faces every now and then. It's hard to imagine Foster not making the team after the way he finished the season last year but who knows. It is obvious that Duke Williams should make the team now. And McKenzie should as well. Assuming Roberts is definitely a lock I don't see how we can keep 7 WR's and one of Foster or Zay has to be on the chopping block. Would think either could net a 5th round pick or so.
  4. It’s not just about drops. It’s about the fact that when Allen targets Zay a negative play is the result far too much. Search receivers on Pro Football Reference with 100+ targets and sort by catch percentage. He comes up ranked 25th out of 28 WR’s and has a much lower YPC and YPT average than 90% of the receivers on the list. At the very least he needs to be targeted far less than he was last year unless him and Allen start to connect on the same page more often. And of course we saw the same problems when Tyrod was QB too. And last year Foster managed to have a much higher ypc and catch percentage than Zay. The common denominator in Zay’s lack of production seems to be Zay himself thus far. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/play-index/psl_finder.cgi?request=1&match=single&year_min=2018&year_max=2018&season_start=1&season_end=-1&pos[]=wr&draft_year_min=1936&draft_year_max=2019&draft_slot_min=1&draft_slot_max=500&draft_pick_in_round=pick_overall&conference=any&draft_pos[]=qb&draft_pos[]=rb&draft_pos[]=wr&draft_pos[]=te&draft_pos[]=e&draft_pos[]=t&draft_pos[]=g&draft_pos[]=c&draft_pos[]=ol&draft_pos[]=dt&draft_pos[]=de&draft_pos[]=dl&draft_pos[]=ilb&draft_pos[]=olb&draft_pos[]=lb&draft_pos[]=cb&draft_pos[]=s&draft_pos[]=db&draft_pos[]=k&draft_pos[]=p&c1stat=targets&c1comp=gt&c1val=100&c2stat=pass_sacked&c2comp=gt&c5val=1.0&order_by=catch_pct
  5. Does he have an injury or veteran rest day? I'm just curious about Brown. Not having access to the practices, I haven't really seen him contribute and don't know what kind of connection him and Allen will have.
  6. But did he dominate in TD receptions? Who's to say Brown, Beasely, any of the three young WR's we could keep or the new TE wouldn't put in 7 or 8 TD's if they were targeted as much as Zay? And Zay had a very low catch rate when thrown too. For whatever reason it just doesn't seem like things work out well when we target Zay a ton. I mean look at Beasely the other night. The guy hasn't even been here for one full camp and he catches everything Allen throws at him. It feels like both Zay and the Bills need a mutual divorce at this point.
  7. I'll be gunning for Allen. Gonna probably take him much earlier than I should probably by the 6th round. I got to make sure I take him before my brother does.
  8. Fair point. But Foster has at least played at a high level in the league for a six or seven game stretch. I'm not sure Zay has even put together a solid 4 game stretch. And he has had two full years to try to put together a good stretch of games. Plus, Foster's seems to really only have one other player on the roster that does what he does, John Brown. Brown goes down with an injury then we have nobody. Zay does similar things as Beasley, McKenzie and McCloud. He has more competition.
  9. I'm completely over Zay at this point. Don't care who it is, but someone should be over him. I'm thinking Zay has to have trade value still though.
  10. Not just A-train. Fred always got the short end of the stick. Often lower on the depth chart then Lynch and Spiller too. He easily could have been our main back ahead of both those guys.
  11. Yeldon is toast. I sure hope they keep Wade on the 53. I think there is a reasonably good chance (50/50) Gore is cut or McCoy is traded or possibly cut. Where exactly has John Brown been? I believe he has two targets and 1 catch in two pre-season games with a goose egg in the last game. I'm sure his spot is safe, but he has seen very little action. I didn't think it was possible at first but I just don't see the value in keeping Zay Jones. He's being consistently outplayed or at least matched by guys drafted much lower than him. If he were not a high draft pick it wouldn't even be a debate about whether he would be cut or not. Maybe they try work a trade for him as it is likely another team could see value in him still and think they can get more out of him. Maybe Washington or the New York Giants? Send Washington Zay and a 2nd rounder for Trent Williams?
  12. Maybe so but we can also question Fitz being on the list too then. Personally I rank Flutie much higher than Fitz and Tyrod but even if we group them in the same group they are in that group between "Jim Kelly and Joe Ferguson" and "not your typical terrible Bills QB". Then you have Drew Bledose who was basically "your typical terrible Bills QB" for all but one year. But that one year he just so happened to set all the team records. Yeah. That is probably the biggest head scratcher of all.
  13. I don't know what to make of these lists. Sometimes they are depressing seeing some of the names that are thought to be top 100 for our team. But I guess when you break it down to a single team many other teams would have similar names where you are thinking "that bum made a top 100 list"? I think Flutie is getting shafted. Would switch Flutie with Fitzpratrick. And with both of them on the list we couldn't find a spot for Tyrod? Just remove Chris Kelsay... Chris Kelsay, man forgot how terrible he was, 32.5 sacks in 10 years with us? A whopping 3.2 sacks a year. Lee Evans ahead of Fred Jackson?! I know it only by a few spots but that looks like a glaring mistake to me. Gilmore (#28) that much better than Nate Clements (#45)? Nate has the superior stats as a Bill across the board. Feel like they are letting recency bias and what Gilmore went on to do in New England compared to Nate not doing much at all in San Francisco weigh in on the ranking. Gilmore might be the better player overall when looking at their entire careers but this is supposed to be looking at just their careers as Bills. Otherwise T.O. and Jason Peters would obviously would both be top 10 on this list. Glad to see Beast Mode absent from the list. Had a very good NFL career just didn't do much at all for us in his short time here. I don't have much argument of the top 10.
  14. He still shows his wiggle and ability in the passing game where he picked up a first down pretty much by himself.
  15. I'm still a little worried about the o-line. I feel like the best thing we can say about them is that they won't be any worse that last years line. But that doesn't mean much. Hopefully Allen improving in the passing game will help open things up in the running game.
  16. Kicker. I have a terrible feeling about Haushka this year.
  17. Beasley on track to be the greatest Bills free agent signing in two decades or more? There has been a lot of talk about Allen's completion percentage after a 52% season last year. Bills have been working a lot of underneath stuff to Beasley and the RB's with great success. And Allen is still making some nice throws deeper down the field to Sweaney. If we see a significant increase in the underneath throws and Allen and Beasley continue to be on the same page in the regular season then Allen should easily jump up to 59%-60% completion or perhaps higher. I still do expect him to take a lot of deep shots down the field too but maybe not lead the league.
  18. It's far more likely he is forever compared to QB's taken in his 2018 draft class. At any rate I think Allen is going to be a franchise QB for us so it's a moot point.
  19. This feels like the year we released Fred Jackson. Hope I am wrong but I think we see a surprise cut or trade with either Gore or Shady. I hated the Fred Jackson cut at the time. I thought he had at least one more solid year with us.
  20. Yeah closer to 30 makes more sense in today's world. Most people are not having kids at 18-20 years old. But if you look at the commonly defined spreads of for Gen X,Y,Z etc. they are usually up to 20 years but not longer.
  21. At worst you should be in the conversation for best ever if you are the best of a generation. Generation is thought of as about 15-20 years typically. Think, baby boomers, generation X, millenials, generation Z etc. Really in our more modern society it should be thought of as about 25-35 years with couples often waiting to their late 20's start families now.
  22. How is it you can get Sunday Ticket by streaming? Don't they have a bunch of restrictions on that? Like you have to live in an apartment complex that doesn't allow satellites or be a college student in a dorm room? So basically a minuscule percentage of the population is eligible to stream Sunday Ticket that way without an actual DirecTV subscription.
  23. I watched the about the last five minutes of the Lions game on a Reddit stream on my phone last year and was shocked how well the stream came in without interruption. And this was while riding passenger in a car through some desolate areas. I think DirecTV is really screwing up here. Majority of NFL viewers under the age of 30 probably watch via streaming, legal or otherwise. Now with all this crap going on they are going to push the older folks to these streaming platforms more quickly.
  24. LMAO. Good thing I read this now rather than in the morning with my coffee or I would have had to buy a new laptop.
  25. Oh yeah. We definitely will be. Some will never be content unless he's throwing for 275 ypg and two TD's every game.
