  1. The big difference is Allen has had to do so much work between the 20 yard lines in every game. Really carrying our entire offense. Rodgers is supported by a fantastic running game. And of course Allen has had so many TD's called back on ridiculous illegal procedure penalties and/or dropped. Feels like way more than league average. But very unlikely voters will actually take any of that into account. We would be lucky for them to even take something as simple as SOS into account.
  2. Just another Seahawk they (media) couldn't wait to hand an award to. Surprised the worst coverage safety in the NFL isn't up for DPOY.
  3. I like the way you think. Definitely could have been a turning point. For the coaches too.
  4. I think there is clear separation now between Rodgers/Allen and Mahomes. Mahomes has had a bad December. And like most things, "what have you done lately" does carry some weight. If these four games for Mahomes were put as his first four games of the season and then you back loaded all his good games he would have a much different feel and momentum to the MVP race.
  5. Mr. Monday Night! Has someone held that title in the past? We sure as heck know who holds it now. And if either of the two games were competitive late his stat lines for each game would be more like 400 yards 5 TD's.
  6. For sure. I think it was 55/45 Diggs over Hill before tonight's big game and the 3 TD's just because Diggs has such a good storyline to go along with the receptions and yards. But having a huge game this late in the season and now having a more respectable 8 TD's should push it closer to 80/20.
  7. I'd say Digg is a lock now for one of the two spots. Adams will get the other. Diggs 120 receptions (leads league) 1,459 yards (leads league) 8 TD's His only real competition is Tyreek Hill Hill 87 receptions 1,276 yards 15 TD's
  8. The cards just aren't falling in Allen's favor this year. It's like Rodgers is destined to win it. Hail Murray. Two called back TD's against the Jets 4 TD's last week when he easily could have had 5 or 6 Two in this first half when he is a TD drop away from having 3 in the half.
  9. It feels like the team can be even better. If the defense played the first 8 games like it has been playing the last 7 I think we would have had a really good shot at upsetting the Chiefs. Defense wasn't healthy and playing that well at the time and yet we were still one third down stop away from getting the ball back with a chance for Allen and the offense to take a 1 point win.
  10. LOL. It was a heck of TD run for a linebacker summoning his former HS days. That play and the others it took a miracle for Allen to not have six TD's last week.
  11. He doesn't need to match or surpass Rodgers in total TD's. Multiple factors are always considered. Some swing in Rodgers favor, some in Allen's favor. That said, he does need to be close. So yeah he likely needs about 8 to finish the season to stay realistically in the conversation and with in a few TD's of Rodgers. And consider if he puts up 8 over the next two games that means he has at least 5 conference player of the week awards, if not 6. Allen needs a huge game tonight. At least 4 TD's but 5 or 6 would be ideal. Couple of things are just really hurting Allen. 1. The Hail Murray. If the Bills could finish 14-2 and better than the Packers that would have been huge. Also, the narrative that Monday morning would have been about Josh Allen as a legitimate MVP candidate. Instead the talk was all about Murray. 2. The Broncos game could have easily been a six TD game for Allen but he didn't get the breaks. Multple TD's called back on penalty on one series. Zach Moss given a bad spot and turn over on downs in another series. Jerry Huges scores a TD instead of getting tackled around the goal line.
  12. He's rolling but he's also supported by the best ground game of the three top candidates. We should keep that aspect of the game in mind before we declare that he as the least amount of talent around him. His efficiency is through the roof this year. It's usually always high with him but likely the best of his career this year in part because he isn't asked to do the heavy lifting by himself between the 20's like Allen and Mahomes are asked to do.
  13. Probably. I just keep thinking this would be a great year for Co-MVP's. I mean if Allen finishes with 45 total TD's and just under 5,000 total yards and has the same 13-3 record as Rodgers while winning 4 or 5 offensive player of the week honors I don't see how Allen doesn't get a healthy split of the vote.
  14. Has a player ever won offensive player of the week for their conference 5 times and not won the MVP? Jackson won the award 5 times last year in his MVP season. Allen currently has won the award 4 times this year. 90% of the time that leads to the MVP. Culpepper was an exception back in 2003. But the Vikings were 8-8. Allen and the Bills may go 13-3, same record as Aaron Rodgers and the Packers. Looking at the numbers from QB's in the conference this week, Allen will need to match or better around 330 yards and 3TD's to have a legitimate shot at his 5th weekly honor. Will depend a lot on our game plan tonight but 330 yards and 3 TD's seems within Allen's grasp.
  15. I think Allen can easily leap frog Mahomes with a win tomorrow night and a modest 3 TD performance. Rodgers is the one that will be tougher to beat out. IMO, Rodgers is the current favorite. So much can change though. Henry goes off for 150 rushing yards and a win tonight and I think he jumps into the lead ahead of all the QB's. Seems as good a year as any to announce Co-MVP's winners too. Rodgers really needs to beat the Titans though. If they lose they are basically 0-3 against teams with a winning record at the time they played said team. And they only have one win on the whole season against a team with a current winning record, Saints all the way back in week 2 or 3.
  16. Well, seems unlikely Murray joins this club now. He'd need 4 TD's in his final game next week against the Rams. And he did get injured although I'm not sure it is serious.
  17. This. In terms of trying to avoid the absolute worst possible scenario we want to end Miami's season next Sunday. A loss to Miami, and possibly back to back losses to Miami in Buffalo in January would potentially have consequences for the next 10 years. Don't give them an ounce of confidence that they can hang with us in January.
  18. The plus for the Dolphins may be that by continuing to throw Tua out there and having Fitz come in late, they are getting enough film on Tua to decide whether they need to take another QB with the Texans top 5 pick. If I am Dolphins fan I am less than thrilled from what I have seen out of Tua on the field. He seems like a good kid i just don't see any physical tools there and combine that with him being pretty short in stature I don't see him being a long-term answer. As of now he is being shown up by his former teammate Hertz.
  19. I thought the everyone made a big deal about the Titans and Chiefs doing something different in those games? That it was a new type of coverage that Allen saw? I don't think it was strictly man to man like the Dolphins played in week 2. Or was that narrative made up?
