1st and goal at the 2 yard line, we run Brown up the middle for no gain. Dixon should have got the ball 3 more times there if he didn't score on 2nd or 3rd down. 4 points lost there, we lost by 4. That series at the KC 15 could have ran the clock down, burning KC's timeouts and we kick the go ahead FG. Not hearing the fumbles lost us the game.

It gives me a sense that Marrone didn't want his team to implode, or his first round QB to self destruct by continuing to regress as the season went on. I'd rather bench a struggling QB in the 5th week than risk lowering the entire team's confidence to Manuel's level. Even Manuel has to know this was the right call. Giving Manuel the entire season at the rate he's going would have made it hard to keep any of the talent we do have on the team
