I think I read there are 2 on the practice squad, not that it helps much. I'm really interested to see what Rogers can bring, as he was my sleeper draft pick. I think he will surprise in a good way.

I've been saying the basic argument for years--the Fed's actions do not directly lead to inflation. They can cause speculation about inflation which can impact investments, but not direct inflation. The oil price decline is one of many examples. The real issue is the weak understanding of inflation's cause.

Yeah, we need a thread for all of the "I told you so(s)"!

While of course it's the coaching, players have to recognize and execute. Fitz recognized the blitz, gave a nod to Freddy, and the rest is history!
-
I don't know how many of you saw the link to a Pat's site that described that last pass play to Freddy, but this tells you everything you need to know about Fitz and how prepared the team is in general. My link

You guys keep spouting this stuff, but the reality is that with all of the so-called "money printing" that has been done, measured inflation is not outside of normal. In fact, now oil is falling, as are many other commodities, and the gold bubble appears to be bursting. Measured inflation will fall over the next few months. Bernanke does not print money and give it to people. There is a process for how FED interventions impact demand and prices. It makes for good talking (radio) head chatter or internet postings, but bad if you're trying to make some money on that wrong-headed belief. Just ask Bill Gross.

You're almost the man Clippers! Too bad you hedged and said 3-1 ealier. But You are the optimist among we optimists. It's not too late to jump on board this traid you nattering nabobs of negativity!

There was definitely pressure at times. I commented on one of Brady's picks that they were pushing the pocket, which hindered his ability to really step into it. Can't remember which one though.

When did we really start getting better ??

There's no doubt it IS Nix, because that's the day the philosophy changed. Then he went out and got a coach that was likeminded. They talked about getting bigger and tougher, and they have. They don't care when you're drafted, they care if you can play. It is so refreshing to listen to Buddy, Chan and Fitz. Compare the pressers from Brady and Bill. Total Aholes. -
Good on yer fellas too! I predicted you guys would win this AND next week. Go get'em!

Talk about trial by fire for Shep...first real action, and he's going against the best in the business.

Fixed again. Haven't we really become a nation where the modus operandi of most leaders, in ALL types of institutions, is "how can I use my position to make me wealthy, whether it's legal or not?"
-
Agreed. That's one of my 10 wins I'm predicting, so that would def reduce the probability.
-
There are varying degrees, but there isn't a city, county or state in the nation where you can't find a corrupt politician.
-
They are all big, aren't they? I still think the first Jets game will be the most imortant, especially if we lose this week. To get to the playoffs, you have to knock off either the Pats or Jets. Btw, I think the Raiders will sweep their next two games...
-
Why limit it at Chicago? It's more accurate to say "political corruption" is redundant.

Agreed. This game is NOT about money. However, the season outcome and their stats will affect their bargaining position. They are like three different girls I've dated.... One is the girl who is with you superficially, but is looking to hook up with a sugar daddy. One just wants you to give her the ring and commit. One sleeps with you on the first date, but wants you to respect her. -

That, and too much money chasing/searching for returns of yesteryear... -

Adam Smith said the same thing... -
This one is really tough for me to predict. In my preseason prediction, I had it down as a loss on their way to a 10-6 season, but I think it's in play now. There are so many variables in this one, but first to re-cap. In week one, I was so confident in the Bills that I selected them in my survivor pool. In week 2, I said it was going to be a tough one, with the Bills getting bullied in the first half, but Fitz bringing them back for a last second win (I thought FG). Now for this week... I think the Pats typically take the Bills lightly in the first meeting, which is why the past two (first meetings) have been close. This time, they will not. On O: I think Belichick is going to try to show how brilliant he is by shutting down the play-calling of the man Buddy Nix called the best in the business this week, Chan Gailey. I think the Bills HAVE to set the tone by running the ball, and being more physical than the Pats D. If we can't establish the run early, it will be a long day for the Bills, again... In the passing game, I think this is the game where Donald Jones has to step up. He will have most of the 1 on 1 match ups, and he has to win those. On D: This is all about the front 7. Dareus has to command double teams, which should give Williams and Kelsay more 1 on 1 match ups. While we expect Williams to do well, Kelsay could make the difference in this game. Merriman??? Let us pray... I think the Bills will keep the Pats running game in check, for the most part. The key for this game will be slowing down Welker. It will be interesting to see who covers him? I hope that Barnett puts a licking on him when he comes over the middle. Byrd and Wilson need to have great games. I think STs is a push. I think the Bills can finally go toe-to-toe with the Pats. I'm not so sure it will (and I hope it won't) be the high scoring game everyone expects. My best guess at this point: if the winning team scores <=24, then the Bills win; if it's > 24, the Pats win. The Bills will probably need to get some TOs for this to happen. Go Bills!

Not that they were over-valued to begin with, or there couldn't have been a bubble, could there? -
There was an article I linked to some months ago with a quote from Stevie (if I recall correctly) saying that he liked Gailey's offense because it allowed receivers to be creative in their route running. The goal was to be at a particular spot within a specified time (a few seconds obviously). I certainly don't know enough or watch film to see if this is the case, but I found it interesting. Here's the quote:

I guarantee we won't see his "lights out jerk" during the intro this week! -

I saw that too. I said out loud to my buds sitting on either side, "Did Merriman just hurt himself?" It couldn't have been too bad, especially after watching him on that last pass rush. -
You new around here? Holy crap! Hope you are well...
