  1. i'm not sure where they should be ranked, so I gave a general reply suggesting 10-15.
  2. The O-line went from almost last in the league, to a little better than average--a huge move.
  3. When I watch the game I won't be able to root against them, but all week I will be thinking it's ok if they lose because it increases the chances of getting rid of the dope of a HC, improves their draft position, and I do hope Fitz gets in.
  4. reunited with Suh in Miami.
  5. roman was given a lot of nice toys to work with by Whaley: TT, clay, shady, and harvin.
  6. whats your criteria for ranking?
  7. thats a real stretch, one smart player. It didn't look like he did a good job of plug n play after 2010 despite constantly drafting D in R1.
  8. I might give him some slack if he wasn't such a blowhard. My philosophy: speak softly and carry a big stick.
  9. when Whaley went out and got shady, clay, and Harvin, it looked like they were setting up for a 2-year run. Regardless of who coached, they were going to have cap issues. The optimal choice over that period should've been to keep the D philosophy intact. Are you seriously saying Ryan's D only needs one smart player to make it work?
  10. On the supply side, break up the medical monopolies run by the ama and drug companies. On the demand side maybe they should go back to no insurance, so their emergency room costs are pushed onto the rest of us....oh, wait....
  11. Rex defenders take: players just aren't smart enough. My take: if you don't have the players to run your smart D, then why are you forcing it on them?
  12. Thought about starting one, but there are so many already covering and intersecting the topic. I'd call it rooting for Fitz from my perspective.
  13. A not so subtle dig at Rex in this piece about jets v pats: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000607761/article/jets-fitzpatrick-on-facing-pats-this-is-huge-for-me
  14. thats why they needed a football czar.
  15. not really. Someone who knows Xs and Os should've raised the issue. On the other hand, ryan claimed he wasn't wedded to a scheme.
  16. Thanks for trying to add some reasoned analysis to this emotion-driven debate. Is it reasonable to assume the Bills didn't have the skill-types needed in the "3" part?
  17. If a new teacher took over the classroom with the same students, and test scores declined significantly, who would you blame?
  18. It's as if RR tried to stick his blockhead into his round a$$hole....
  19. A similar refrain, "insert DC coach here" can't succeed without really good players at "insert positions here", insinuating that Ryan and his system is the exception.
  20. add in that he tries to be both here and you get mediocrity at both.
  21. you can throw in week 6 too, the Cincinnati game.
  22. Maybe Rex was also wrong to tell Whaley "just get me good football players"? It seems clear he needs players that he can fit into his system.
  23. Good timing too, something positive in the middle of this Sh!t storm...
  24. I get a kick out of the argument that these guys are "professionals" and "grown men". These professionals have mostly been pampered during their most formative years in college. Some even get away with serious crimes because of their status. Very few of these guys are leaders. They need leadership from the adults who oversee them in their now professional career. The adults can be either coaches or veteran players, but the perennially good teams tend to have both. You can blame the players if you want, but a good coach would also find, cultivate and use his veteran leaders. Rex may be a good DC, but he is not a good HC.
