  1. I've never seen them draft this well ever, but I wasn't in Buffalo in the 1980s, and they had two HOFs from the 1985 class. I really thought Whaley's first draft as GM in 2014 fit this description, but Kouandjio hasn't panned out...yet.
  2. while true, it had to be done. They paid Mario a boatload to get him here and hopefully change the culture about ufas going to buffalo (in a way, they did the same with shady). Keeping him meant no way to keep all of Glenn, incognito, and Gilmore. Going forward, I think they are closer to the point where they will be continuously re-stocking rather than filling a hole of their own doing. Get your sun glasses ready, the future is bright...
  3. Goodwin is put on notice....
  4. Nice call by those calling the Cook trade rumor a smoke screen for Jones.
  5. Right now I think Bryant is the starter in Washington's place, as he showed to be more than capable in replacing KW.
  6. i guess everyone has given up on Goodwin? Third year's a charm...
  7. good stuff. They were looking for partners beginning with Cleveland! One can look at the trade as Ragland was worth 800 (21st pick value), and they paid about 500 to get him. The last time I was this excited about. R2 pick was Sam Cowart!
  8. They got another kickass starter. Like this trade.
  9. Hunter Henry TE
  10. as I recall, there was a lot made about Romans offense using multiple TEs. This guy sounds like a great fit.
  11. I actually wouldn't mind if that top rated TE made it to 49.
  12. Regardless of his attitude, they had to dump Mario in order to keep the young stars, as you state. That move made replacing him the #1 need, which as many have stated, coincided with the BPA--the stars aligned! This doesn't make him a star, but in Ryan's D he is a talented, high-effort player who fits better than a disgruntled Mario. In Ryan's D, stopping the run is paramount, and pressure comes from everywhere. Shaq will set the edge as well as Mario, but most likely be more aggressive in tackling against the run. He will get his sacks, but I doubt he'll be a double-digit guy--Again, the sacks come from everywhere, so he will simply do his part. They still need an NT, and they also need KW's replacement, so they could go in that direction in R2. However, this pick can go in any direction, depending on how the round falls to them. A lot of DT talent left, but they could also use S and LB. If the Clemson CB is there, I wouldn't be surprised if they take him too. So many options...
  13. this is totally dumb. The bills never expected him to be there, but somehow his son knew? Completely harmless statement by friends hoping one ends up on his dad's team.
  14. you don't take an NT over a position that requires more athleticism. They can get the space-eater with a later pick. Shaq's teammate would look good in the middle.
  15. yes, I'm comparing to the position played, not coples per se. I think Lawson will be an upgrade against the run ( over Mario) because of attitude more than ability...
  16. Lawson = Coples in the Rex D. If he gets about 6 sacks and 30 tt, he immediately upgrades over Mario, at about $18 mil less...
  17. Copied this pic from that article. This is the one I was talking about--the dragon head to his right. I really don't see the "riding a dragon" in the other one. As they close in on this shot, the frame deliberately incorporates that figure. However, Davos is staring at the post-Snow blur, so maybe there's more than what I'm seeing. I have a theory of how he will come back--something similar to when Dany went into Drogo's funeral pyre and the dragon eggs hatched....though it will be Jon's pyre....
  18. There was one thing in the first seen with Davos finding Snow that got me going back and re-watching--what was it that caught Davos' eye about the outline of the blood in the snow? While I couldn't really tell what that particular blur might have been, the very first shot of JS seemed to reveal a dragon's head in the snow above his shoulder. Interestingly, the camera's frame is not centered on JS, rather it seems to purposely include the dragon head figure within the frame. The description of the episode also stated "Jon Snow's fate revealed." Seems to support the belief that he will arise from the dead with his true lineage discerned....
  19. True about DW, but he doesn't shy away from it. Again, it's just a sense about Monos. Totally agree that he would generate interest; however, I don't want to see the 3 amigos--Whaley, Monos, Fischer--broken up until they've completed the job....
  20. The reason I believe you have to judge whaley' starting with the 2014 draft is because it's the first one under HIS regime. Once he was named gm, he immediately named monos and Fischer to his staff. I think there was some turnover among the scouts too. Re monos as gm, He does not seem comfortable in front of the cameras, so he might be the kind of person who is content where he's at??
  21. Saw an article today about Jack and his knee, with some gm saying it's worse than they thought. I immediately thought of the rumor that Glenn was a guard, not a tackle. I think our buddy started that one...
