The Chargers are going to be very tough at home. The Saints game is going to be a doozy! They are playing really good football, but they're coming onto "our dirt." The Pats could be had while defending the dirt as well. I'd be really happy with 7-1 at home.
its a fair contract too, unlike the Dareus mistake. Cordy is wrapped up through 2020, so keep him and let Dawkins move to RT. They'd have a stable situation for a few years.
It's something McD preached and practiced all offseason. With the D constantly harassing the O, I'm sure it helps them focus on ball protection too. Good coaching.
I don't take the Jets game lightly, but after seeing Wright and Elston step up, I hope they let these two get healthy and ready for the gauntlet of Brees, Rivers, Smith, and Brady that follows Thursday game.
his contract is very reasonable for a top 10 LT, $12-13 million in 2019 and 2020. Not signing Gilmore, trading Sammy and Darius has the cap under control, so you are spot on.
there are a lot of variables that one can use to argue for/against as a good/bad move. Dareus is a great player in a scheme that allows him to do what he wants to do. In McDs scheme, its not worth paying the money for someone whos role is to eat up two blockers. Add on the long term salary drag, and it makes a lot of sense. Given the scheme, Dareus contribution is marginal, as it shows in the stats. Im sure he will flourish with the Jags though.
Color me impressed that Beane was able to fix the cap within six months. I for one don't think they will move Glenn, as he will be a very reasonably-priced LT over the last couple years of his contract. He will probably need to do something about Clay's contract though.
One of the worst GM's in history has taken the Bills out of salary cap purgatory and he hasn't even been here a year yet. Nice job beanie boy!
Losing all of these "great players" and McD has them playing at a playoff level. The future looks bright...
they were a lousy team until last year, so thos stats are kind of meaningless. All I'm saying is this will be another close game, especially if Poyer and Gaines aren't able to play.
