Anyone else become a Bills fan because of a player from college?
Augie replied to ArdmoreRyno's topic in College Football
Strangely, growing up in WNY college football was an afterthought. I remember watching those college football scoreboard things on Saturday where they told me how Lehigh did against Slippery Rock. I was 100% into the NFL, with no interest in college football. Things have flipped as an adult living in Atlanta. People care about college ball, and they are somewhat aware that the Falcons play here too, in that stadium where the SEC Championship takes place. -
I could start a thread about the dumbest things I’ve ever said or done, but I’m afraid I would break the internet.

Do you add a little nutmeg to help bring that out in them? Baked is healthier than fried, I’m told. If it was fake, they were committed! That was one loud smack! Will Smith was laughing, until he realized his wife was not. Strange flip of the switch. Hollywood is full of kooks, but then again, so is a Bills tailgate! 🤷♂️ As I said elsewhere, this is why I’m not a jersey guy. You don’t really know that person, and I’d hate to have to burn my expensive Will Smith jersey this morning. EDIT: The wife just got home and laughed at the idea that I would be expected to stand up for her in that way. She’s a grown up, she would have been furious with me! .

That’s how magic works. You never see it coming!

Bills match Bears Offer Sheet for Ryan Bates, 4 yr deal
Augie replied to nato7412's topic in The Stadium Wall
I thought the 2nd round tender made sense, but I don’t pretend to really understand this stuff, or care enough to try. I trust in Beane, but sometimes you roll the dice and it doesn’t go the way you hoped. If it was a mistake, I’m not sure where it stands on a scale of 1-10. -

Yep, fill the CB void, add a solid new/cheap guy to the WR room…….and move to the NFC and we have NAILED the off-season! -
On a semi-related note, and to tie it into sports, this is why I’m not a jersey guy. You never know who looks OK on the surface, but is really a nut job beneath the surface. I’d have to burn my expensive Will Smith jersey today.

I have topics I am serious about, but I would not get physical unless it is in physical defense of myself or my family. I will not defend ideals or opinions. Differences make like interesting.

Nope. I can’t be positive what you are pointing toward, but I AM curious and would love for you to put it out there for us. Don’t hint and not tell. I can tell you I never would have done that, but since you brought it up, do tell what my trigger is…… I’m good. What are you thinking?

Might alcohol have been involved in an unfortunate altercation? Has THAT ever happened before???
-
Stupid? I can agree. Understandable? Nope. Be the grown up. My wife would be furious with me if I had done that. She is also a grown up.

We see this differently. That’s OK. It’s still not clear to me exactly what he said that was so offensive, but it doesn’t matter. If it was bad, that’s crap on Chris Rock. As it is, it’s mostly on Will Smith because of how it played out. I care VERY little about anyone in Hollywood, but I had a situation where a buddy tried to “defend” my wife by committing assault on a drunk idiot at an NFL game. That shapes my opinion. He was a friend, and tried to defend his actions. I thought it was worthy of arrest. My wife took my side, you don’t get physical. Be a grown up. BTW - Same guy lost his job and later had a domestic violence arrest for being overly volatile, presumably with alcohol involved. I can forgive, but I won’t ignore.

I saw “King Richard” courtside at some tournaments during practice rounds. I suppose there is a number with enough digits to make me sit thru that movie, but I’m not desperate, so it’s a pretty big number. That was a dick move by a guy who played a dick in a movie, I just have to wonder if it was contrived. Like kindergarten, don’t bite, use your words. .

Solid tweet by the “journalist” shouter Steven A. Should that be an exclamation mark or a question mark? Oh, and STOP SHOUTING AT ME!

He was conveniently located. Ratings, you ask? I don’t begrudge them their money, but I don’t let their lives have any influence upon mine.

Seems like somebody crossed a line! Maybe a couple of somebodies. I’ve never watched that stuff before…..and I’ll still probably wait for these Cliffs Notes. .

This feels a little like the $5 birthday check from my grandmother I never had the heart to cash.

That is the Sammy Watkins/Kyrie Irving version. There are different styles……for people of sound mind. She gets points for flexibility! I’ve got the standard Bills cornhole setup. Regardless of occasion, Bills gear is the go-to gift from most people who know me well. .

Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins Passes Away at 50

While true, that post shows a very shallow understanding of the problem. -
I think you’re right. We need Rex back, because we are having terrible off-seasons. You with me? We are a perennial leading SB contender. Deal with it.

My best friend from college had a daughter who played for St Peter’s and they would attend a ton of home and away games. (He learned his way around NYC pretty well!) He sent me pictures of them celebrating the last win, all wearing their St Peter’s gear. Oh my! It looked like college all over again! Months ago we were looking at the schedule for a nearby performing arts center. We noticed a couple comedians (Kathleen Madigan and Leann Morgan) were playing on back to back nights. Great venue, so we bought tickets for both shows. It wasn’t until this week did I realize it was Elite Eight weekend. Ooops! Of course, we have dinner before the shows with friends, just to be sure I miss as much as possible. 😓

It is The Great Whiner’s farewell tour, after all.

Who said he is a scrub? He’s just not elite. What is he great at? Josh he is NOT. In hope they stick with a B- or C+ QB, it makes our path easier.

In the WAY BACK, I’d take my dogs to the beach down by the Salty Dog, then go drink at the bar while they dried out and dropped some sand before riding home in my convertible. Those were the days. I didn’t even own leashes. It was a bunch of regulars avoiding the tourists in Harbor Town. Now? No dogs allowed near the Salty Dog. Bummer, but it’s so crowded it’s hard to even park nearby. Can’t add dogs to that mix. We banked the guy who built the big expansion down there. He sold well, the next guy thinks it was a bargain. If you can get to Harbor Town there is a trolly shuttle that will take you to the Beach Club, the Plantation Club (golf courses and a nice restaurant) and down to South Beach, home of the famous Salty Dog. I am positive you have seen one of those tee shirts somewhere, some time. A bartender down there told me he’s made more on the tee shirts than selling food and drink. All I know is he’s a VERY wealthy man! The shuttle is seasonal, but it should be available. If you have time, I’d recommend it to see the highlights of Sea Pines. Also, if you like golf at all, the Harbor Town clubhouse is open (with a nice restaurant) and you can walk thru the locker room where all the PGA players have their names on lockers. Pretty cool. Have fun!
