  1. Do you know that Cubans now typically: - fly to Nicaragua (commie buddies don’t require visas from Cubans) - fly (or travel overland) to the US border - enter through the Arizona desert, surrender, and claim asylum? Exactly what the Venezuelans do. Yet DeSantis handpicks Venezuelans to send to Martha’s Vineyard. I wonder why.
  2. If taking his name off the wall makes him stop coming to Bills games, please, Mr and Mrs Pegula, make it happen. Now. I mean surely they’re not gonna put his name up there all over again in the new stadium?
  3. Former athletes do some of the most embarrassing things. Favre shows up on late night TV hawking some kind of snake oil. But apparently that’s not enough. He also needs to screw over the people of his own state. There’s also a class of politicians and local businessmen (yes, they are all men) who will do anything to suck up to their old sports heroes. Including screwing over the people of their own state.
  4. Oh, I agree. If DeSantis were to do this to CUBANS, there’d be an outcry in Florida and he just might lose votes. So he won’t. Q. Is there any reason newly arrived Cubans would have a better moral claim (not to mention legal) claim to stay than newly arrived Venezuelans? No. If Cuba is an 10 on the political oppression/economic basket case scale, Venezuela is surely an 11. But you also misunderstand the situation of Venezuelans. There’s a lot of Republican support among that much smaller community, and yes, some cross-affiliation between Cubans and Venezuelans. (This is not about Mexicans or Central Americans). So this isn’t necessarily a big win for DeSantis in Florida. Of course, he correctly assumes he’ll cruise to reelection in Florida. This is about out-Trumping Trump on the national scale.
  5. I don’t get the Tua disparagement here. Let’s start with one premise absolutely everyone agrees with: 32 out of 32 NFL GMs would choose Josh Allen over Tua as their franchise-starting QB. So that’s not an issue. We’re then Left with (1) residual 1970s/80s Dolphin Hate - time to get over that; (2) “I told you so” know it alls who said Tua was too small, too whatever who hate to be proved wrong - get over that too. Maybe he’s getting it (last year) and now has a coach and fantastic athletes (this year) and those things are helping him to get the most out of his non-Josh/non-Mahomes talents. Good for him. I like watching that short pass/explosive YAC offense, just as long as we aren’t the opposing team. It may not be enough to get you to a Super Bowl but it’s fun to watch. Finally, admit it. If we hadn’t taken Josh and instead had taken Darnold, we’d be all over Beane for not finding a way to get Tua when he came out of Bama. He would’ve been our best QB prospect since Kelly.
  6. I have been searching for the exact nationalities of the Martha’s Vineyard 50. It’s been reported that there are many Venezuelans. Why not Cubans, Ron? Why were they exempt? If you think Cubans aren’t coming across the southwest border in droves, you haven’t been paying attention. Could it be that the good governor doesn’t want to piss off a group that votes Republican? Oh, and by the way: once those (mostly) Venezuelans are processed in Cape Cod, where will they be headed? Migrant patterns suggest that 90+ percent will ask (and be allowed) to have their cases heard in (you guessed it) Florida.
  7. Prediction: tonight will be Jake Kumerow’s big night. Somebody’s gotta get those Gabe targets.
  8. The SNF wrap said it all. 8 completions last week. OK, so that was in heavy rain. So perfect evening tonight, 7 completions. I don't care who you have as targets, that's still awful. It's like Tebow is playing QB for the Bears, but without the running game.
  9. WTF Raiders. You just need a few more yards for a 85% chance to make it FG. And you lose it just like that.
  10. I’m 100% certain we are better than Miami, but … that speed does worry me. It’s not like Tyreek hasn’t burned us before. I have a hunch that this McDaniel is figuring out how to get the most out of Tua and his limitations. Actually, 6 TD passes suggests it’s more than a hunch.
  11. True. And a couple unduly risky throws (for him, not Josh or Mahomes). There must be a better way given the receiving talent they have.
  12. Tua comes out throwing ... downfield? Into tight windows? Oh, and gets picked off. Maybe we should go back to the checkdowns.
  13. Also known to have a drink or two, every now and then ... and he's 74.
  14. Wow. I bet tomorrow we find out Herbert is playing with cracked ribs.
  15. Could've at least set up for the 75 yard FG
  16. They solved the Kelce rebus but they're still gonna lose this one.
  17. Damn. I love watching the great young class of AFC QBs. Hope it was just the wind knocked out of him.
  18. You know how you guys always mock the latest Trump investigations? "This time we really got him!" Well, this time you really didn't get Hillary. Again. You know how you also say "No one cares?" Well, this time really no one cares. It's over. "Hillary's emails" "Benghazi." Haha, nobody's listening (except Julie Kelly and her stay-at-home-mom army)
  19. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nytimes.com/2022/09/14/us/politics/durham-inquiry-trump-russia.amp.html What? Winding down? No Gitmo for the perps?? Where’s that Storm you promised us?? 😜
  20. You mean the Diggs Rebus? It sounds so much more philosophical if you put it that way.
  21. 1. Aaron Donald gonna make a lot of interior offensive linemen get bad grades. There’s no “strength of opponent” grading curve. 2. PFF is pretty good with large samples. And as I’ve pointed out, I think it’s telling that every O line change Beane made in the off-season was to a guy with a better PFF overall score last year. So it pretty much agreed with what real pro scouting staff see. One game at a time? Well, take it with a boulder of salt. But they grade on “who won the matchup” on each and every passing/running play. So if Donald beats Bates, but Allen has already gotten rid of the ball or rolled outside to avoid the rush, well, that still grades as “Donald beat Bates.” Of course in a real game it’s not so simple as A guy like Bates/Morse often has help, and defensive line stunts make it hard to score a man to man matchup that doesn’t really exist, so that’s why it’s pretty silly on a game to game basis.
  22. Julie is offended! It's "former political consultant and stay-at-home mom." It's not just the woke lefties who police language.
  23. True. It’s not good for defined benefit pensions unless they have a healthy COLA built in. It’s actually pretty good though if you want a steady stream of income from bond investments.
  24. No. They don’t. They read hot tales from Twitter feeds from pro-Trump GOP (if there’s a remaining normal GOP around I haven’t seen it since 2018) and paste them here without even noticing how absurd some of them are. Blame Biden and the Dems all you want for the most recent stimulus package (which was clearly not needed at the time it was passed) and the preposterously named Inflation Reduction Act or the ridiculous student loan forgiveness (any inflationary impact there won’t be seen for a few months). But you can’t rewrite history. Or maybe you can given that a lot of people will believe any garbage hot take that their favorite tweeters post.
