  1. Welcome, Plato. Your highbrow opinions will illuminate many here. OK if we lather you with ketchup and mustard and throw you onto a card table now?
  2. Keenum, Barkley, whatever. Heaven forbid, Josh misses 8+ games or the playoffs: season over. Josh misses 4-6 games: Keenum might, possibly, under the best case scenario, get you one more win than Barkley would. Maybe that turns out to be critical in playoff seeding. Most likely: no difference at all. If money isn’t critical right now, keep Keenum. If someone else goes down in camp and you need the money to fill a hole, dump him.
  3. I wish I could hear DR’s Ghost, but the D.UM.B.S ARE PUNCTURING MY EARDRUMS. (and this is his prophet?)
  4. It may be time to bump the Flynndicated thread again?
  5. So you’re saying it’s a form of performance art. Look at me! Look at me! I’m ignoring you!!! Paranoid man in a cheapsh!t room (garden level, the worst part of North Hollywood) talk real big. that’s a plea — please ignore me.
  6. Don’t criticize a man(hood) unless you’ve walked a mile in his jockstrap. https://www.google.com/amp/s/nypost.com/2022/08/06/hunter-biden-attributes-his-penis-obsession-to-body-dysmorphia/amp/
  7. Hmm, phantom DR has chosen to ignore content from Tiberius, yet he tags and responds to that very same Tiberius a couple hours later.
  8. Trump is the undisputed master of the “tell a lie enough times and people will believe it” rule. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.cnn.com/cnn/2019/10/29/politics/fact-check-trump-false-claim-opposed-iraq-invasion/index.html When radio host Howard Stern asked Trump in September 2002 if he is "for invading Iraq," Trump responded, "Yeah, I guess so. I wish the first time it was done correctly." Trump did not express a firm opinion about the looming war in a Fox interview in January 2003, saying that "either you attack or don't attack" and that President George W. Bush "has either got to do something or not do something, perhaps."
  9. I’m no fan of smoking these days, but damn … that’s one badass mofo.
  10. Now there’s a fair and honest take. None of these numbers are made up or lies. It depends on what you’re trying to measure and for what purpose.
  11. It was. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-08-11/one-chart-that-shows-inflation-really-was-0-in-july What do you mean when you say “stop inflation!” Do you mean deflating prices to where they were in July 2021? Across the board price and wage cuts? Or do you mean “stop the rise in prices so that I know that my savings or salary today won’t be worth a whole lot less next month or next year.” Prices did not increase overall from June to July, and they don’t appear to be increasing from July to now. In fact, fuel has gotten considerably cheaper. I do not make economic decisions based on what prices were a year ago. I make them based on what I expect prices to be a year from now. The year over year inflation numbers can be useful for some limited purposes. But here they are being used for shock purposes or political purposes.
  12. On recruiting veterans as teachers: once in a while DeSantis let’s his libertarian side out. This is a decent idea. But it shouldn’t be restricted to vets. There’s a whole lot of talented people who’ve had successful careers who would be more than willing to teach as a second career. Let’s stop some of this mindless credentialing and not turn away talented/qualified/responsible people who want to help our kids develop. Compare DC, which has just decided, in its wisdom, to require college degrees for day care workers. Yeah, they always call it preschool or early learning or whatever, but it’s day care.
  13. Correct. We have the worst and least efficient tax collection system of any developed country. By the way: we do need to audit more lower income earners too. I previously worked in a field where I saw a lot of tax returns from lower earners. “Refundable” tax credits (a euphemism for “the government gives you “back” money you never paid in) — the earned income tax credit, additional child credits—are out of control. We saw this type of thing bigly too in the PPP fraudulent claims. I get that everyone hates the IRS, but you gotta hate the game, not the player. And for people like me who don’t cheat on our taxes, we’ll, if kinda like to see other people not getting “back” thousands of dollars that weren’t even withheld in the first place.
  14. It’s not returning kickoffs, which are still inherently more dangerous for everyone, not just the returner. I don’t think there’s any reason to believe there’s a higher injury risk returning punts than there is catching passes over the middle. That guy up in Foxborough had pretty important players in Welker and then Edelman returning punts for years. So I’m fine with it if Diggs wants to do it and the coaching staff thinks he’d be the best guy for the job.
  15. But Trumpheads demand, I say DEMAND, that the FBI raid some server closet in an industrial park in suburban Virginia where Hillary's emails were stored. Otherwise it's just not fair.
  16. Another day, another reason to rue to deletion of the 700 page "Q Analysis" thread started by the late great (or does he survive here as his own Ghost?) Deranged Rhino. Ahh, but I'm no Joe Biden. I remember it all: https://qalerts.app/?q=trust+wray&sortasc=1 The god of Q himself, when asked who we can trust in the bureaucracy, said ... ... Trust Wray. So let's trust that he knows what he's doing and he's on the side of goodness and light. I'm sure DR would agree!
  17. Summoning DR, through the intercession of his Ghost …. What exactly is the latest Q Glorious Restoration Date, when Trump again ascends to the Iron Throne?
  18. Apparently you didn’t read the links. “Go woke, go broke.” You and many others predicted a big loss of Disney+ subscribers based on their “woke” statements on the Don’t Say Gay law. The exact opposite happened. Netflix and other streaming services are bleeding subscribers. Disney is gaining them. And against all evidence, you continue to chant the mantra: go woke, go broke.
  19. I think the standard response would be "This Hasn't Aged Well"
  20. It doesn’t hurt DeSantis. It just proves that DeSantis playing to his base by trying to harm Disney is a joke. Disney just swats aside the likes of DeSantis and his trailer trash fan base and continues printing money.
  21. Disney 1; DeSantis 0. https://www.google.com/amp/s/variety.com/2022/digital/news/disney-earnings-beat-disney-plus-subscribers-152-million-1235338055/amp/ Now, exactly where are all those posters who said Disney Gone Woke would result in a mass exodus of subscribers and park visitors? Don’t mess with The Mouse, Ronnie Boy.
  22. The S&P 500 closed at 4122 today. I chose February 14, 2020 as a pretty good date for "just before the start of COVID." (that's the poll question). You know what it closed at on that date? Answer: 3380. In other words, even given the recent correction (Or is it a bear market? Call it what you like), the markets are UP about 22% since just before COVID became a thing in the United States. You feel poor because the S&P 500 hit 4800 on January 4 2022. So it's down about 14% since then. But still UP a ton since pre-COVID days. I say this not to be an ass, but just to point out that people's sense of happiness or satisfaction is always relative, not absolute. I think objectively most Americans are better off today than they were 2.5 years ago. But here's what I think may be going on: deep down a lot of us have a sense that this is a bubble economy. Low interest rates, quantitative easing, huge money handouts to lots and lots of people ... there's a sense that it's gonna end, and the end will be ugly.
  23. Not a whole lot more detail in the full WSJ article. But we do know that the WSJ appears to have the best sources here, so I’ll keep watching.
  24. I think we just found out what Andrew Cuomo’s post-Gov gig will be: Fox News Commenter.
  25. I did read the whole thing. And I did watch some CNN and MSNBC. Where Jacobson (author of legalinsurrection) saw “dread” in the eyes of the CNN/MSNBC hosts/commenters is a mystery to me. They weren’t doing a victory dance, but it is clear they enjoyed having another Trump scandal/abuse of power to report on. Trumpies: emerge from your echo chamber every so often. Only Trump’s 30% “I could shoot someone on 5th Ave and they’d still love me” thinks this plays in his favor.
