It’s fun watching the right wing fringe propaganda machine at work. For a brief moment, everyone was on board with Michael Schellenberger’s take, namely: this wasn’t so much a political crime; rather, it was just the latest example of the drug and mental health crisis in the USA that has reached its apex in the Bay Area. He’s researched this (read his San Francisicko or many of the reviews/excerpts of it — he knows the landscape and what he’s talking about), and he took some pretty compelling photos of this guys “home” (a bus parked at a Berkeley house) showing how out there this guy is. But I guess “drug-addled paranoid nut lately influenced by Q Anon” wasn’t good enough. Because, well, that’s pretty clearly a correct description, and it does tangentially implicate Q Anon bs as something that can drive a troubled mind into violence. So now it has to be “they are hiding the truth! It’s a false flag operation!! There was no break in, and Pelosi probably brought home the fugliest male hooker you’ve ever seen!!!” This is how the wingnut meme machine works, and it has a lot of useful idiots reposting its silliness. Even if football fan sites. EDIT: I see we also have “they covered up his DUI” even though his DUI was covered by every significant mainstream outlet, complete in most cases with his mug shot. It’s a freakin’ DUI! What’s to cover up? He drank, he drove, he got pulled over, sobriety tested, breathalyzed, and booked. But apparently there is something in the nature of a “cover up” here because some Twitter monkey said it wasn’t covered in the mainstream media and people just take that assertion at face value.

Bills v Jets - Battle for Division?
The Frankish Reich replied to ngbills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yep. I actually like what I’ve seen of him talent-wise. Pretty mobile, very good arm and accuracy, etc. But still very much playing like a rookie. -
Defense vs Green Bay and their performance

He’s playing like a man possessed. A. He’s happy being back, and Frazier knows how to use him and surround him with talent. B. He’s finally healthy again this year (not counting the brief hammy lay off) C. He’s a big man playing for his last (final?) contract and that made him get in shape and stay motivated. D. All of the above. -

As simple as: you have a big lead. You don’t want to give up a quick strike. The other guys are more interested in establishing some kind of offensive rhythm rather than in actually winning the game. The Packers basically raised the white flag when they didn’t even try to get in field goal range in their last possession of the first half: 3rd & 16 at GB 26 (1:06 - 2nd) (Shotgun) A.Jones left guard to GB 34 for 8 yards (V.Miller; T.Edmunds). Garbage time rushing yards. -
One thing the conspiratorial minds don’t lack for is creative story telling. But really, you guys need to get out more. - male prostitute? Have you taken a look at the guy? 100+ Millionaire Paul Pelosi is hiring him? - the window was broken. I guess Paul (or … oooh, scary … the police!) deliberately broke the window as part of the coverup, so we wouldn’t think it was the ugliest mofo of a male hooker experience gone wrong? - and it just so happens that Paul Pelosi picked up a male “friend”/hooker who had been spewing Q Anon crap by the barrel all over social media? Please. This was (1) a nut; (2) a dangerous nut, allowing his paranoid fantasies to be directed in a Q direction; (3) a nut whose paranoid Q-influenced fantasies were fueled by years of overuse of psychedelics. A long time ago the great Mojo Nixon summed it up: Mushroom Maniac.

Kanye West opens mouth, inserts foot...
The Frankish Reich replied to Just Jack's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
There are many examples of what it means to hit bottom, but now I have a favorite: getting disowned by Balenciaga, then The Gap, and finally finding yourself pounding on the door to be let in at …. Skechers. -
Worst Year Ever in the NFL for Overall Quality of Play?
The Frankish Reich replied to jethro_tull's topic in The Stadium Wall
Thursday night football is the worst thing that's happened to the NFL. It delivers consistently poor games on Thursday night itself. It upsets the week-to-week rhythm of NFL teams, creating follow-on effects after a team that played on Thursday gets that mini-bye. Everyone knows it sucks, but it is a money maker and it isn't going anywhere. Then add to that the London games ... -
It is odd, and we will no doubt be hearing more about it. My guess: guy breaks in. Mr. Pelosi realizes he's seen him before - maybe he's been showing up in the neighborhood and confronted Pelosi before (this is what crazy activists do), or maybe he knows of him from the guy's warped activism in Democratic Party circles in SF (which are pretty out there). Pelosi tries to talk him down. And it works for a bit. But then the cops come (alarm? someone called?) and the guy realizes it's now or never and starts attacking him with the hammer.

First: "MAGA" is wrong. "Q Anon" is the correct term. Not all MAGA people are Q Anon adherents, but it's pretty safe to say all Q Anon adherents are MAGA people - the whole Q Anon Cult is built around Trump as some kind of messiah. And this guy was fully immersed in Q Anon and related rightwing nutjob fantasies. The whole enchilada: Pizzagate. Baby eaters. And just to make our Catholic posters cringe, a suggestion that the Catholic Church was one of the primary sources of Satanism and child abuse. (It's very easy to find this nut's social media history). So there's this weird thing going on with the fringe MAGA types, some of whom seem to love posting on football fansites. It's the idea that there's two types: 1. The Rational "Do Your Own Research" Types who have convinced themselves that there is a grand conspiracy built around ritualistic child abuse and world domination of a secretive elite. As opposed to: 2. The Irrational Nutjobs who have convinced themselves that there is a grand conspiracy built around ritualistic child abuse and world domination by a secretive elite. Maybe take a step back here and try to deprogram yourself. You'll see that there is no distinction at all. There is no such thing as a Rational Q Anon Adherent just as there is no such thing as a Scientific Flat Earther. They. Are. All. Nuts. And a lot of them are dangerous.

I've been saying it for a couple years now: it's the Horseshoe Theory of politics. The wacko left and the wacko right are converging at the open end of the horseshoe, coming from opposite directions. The assailant was a radical nudist (lefty) who hangs out in homeless camps (lefty) who was deep into Q Anon theories (righty) and obviously hates the Democrat establishment (righty).

True. It was HGH, and it may have aided his recovery. Still ... a banned substance, even though a lot of people think it should get a therapeutic exemption. And yes, Peyton blamed it on his wife.

^A new low for this poster and this board. Unfortunately, it's like a headline from the future. Something like this: "The perpetrator, using the name "T Master," had posted comments on a Buffalo Bills fan site expressing sympathy for the man who broke into Nancy Pelosi's home and attached her husband with a hammer, causing a fractured skull." What is wrong with you?

Ok, Brady = Matt Ryan. It’s happening. Finally. The arm is shot.
-
Thoroughly enjoying Brady’s little hissy fits.
-
Brady still has it! He can still get the PI call like no one else
-
Ouch.

I love watching the Greg Roman offense when it’s clicking. This is the guy who made Tyrod’s Bills a running game machine. I think Karlos Williams could have a 100 yard game at 300 lbs next week.
-
Greg Roman looking remarkably calm and dry. I liked him better nervous and sweaty.
-
I think I remember Lamar being the MVP maybe? And Brady maybe winning a Super Bowl or 6?
-
I think you’ll see what I’m talking about before too long.
