I think Vegas will have Bills as underdog in at least 6 out of their first 8 games. Not my special take. Just telling you what the view outside Bills world is.

Andy Benoit of Sports Illustrated was on Buffalo radio Friday and he is convinced that the Bills would only take a CB in rounds 1 or 2 if they absolutely loved them. Thinks Bills will look to get a guy later in the draft and that was what Carolina was doing under Mcdermott, looking for zone cover guys later as the scheme doesn't prioritize it as much.

I think if we draft Mahomes or Trubisky they would win the #2 spot on the roster. I would expect Mahomes or Trubisky to be inserted into the Bills lineup around week 9 or week 10 as the Bills could have a 1-7 record by then.

And there is a prospect whose profile reads like Derek Carr in this class. How many franchise QB's can Whaley pass on before he is fired? There's plenty of QB threads on this board where we discuss why we like some of these prospects. I don't recall ever saying I want a QB to just get one. I have been on record as stating if Mahomes and Trubisky were gone at ten I would trade back.

I think Kizer goes beginning of 2nd round to a team that passed on QB's round 1. Yates is the perfect guy in the locker room if you draft a QB high. Yates is like another coach on the field and it makes sense the Bills picked him up.

The problem is that Tyrod was protected under Roman and Lynn. If you expose him to tougher passing situations his YPA will drop. Russell Wilson is a far better passer then Tyrod Taylor. The End.

The QB is the problem. Tyrod will be going on his 3rd offensive coordinator now and nothing will change. I'll take the under on your passing yards all day, any day.

We will not have a modern NFL offense until we change the QB. Till then we need to ground and pound. It's also tough to win close games in the 4th quarter when your QB cannot pass the ball when the other team knows you have to pass. Tyrod also struggles in 2 minute offense at end of 1st half for this reason. In any case, there is a good reason to believe a top ten WR will not get much production in the Buffalo offense. If you are in fantasy football and you do a dynasty draft no one wants their WR to end up in Buffalo. It's a death sentence.

Tyrod is not good at throwing the ball so if that's the plan it will be a disaster. They need to protect Tyrod by running the ball and letting him throw into good situations based on down and distance. The more Taylor’s been asked to throw the ball, the more it exposes his weaknesses as a passer. You don't want to draft a QB because of JP Losman? He was drafted 13 years ago. Time to move on. It sounds like you are so scarred by missing on draft picks from ten years ago that you don't want to draft a QB. When you miss on a QB it doesn't mean you need to wait 20 years before you try again.

That's because in Mcdermott's system the defensive line get to attack. It's not like he is changing his system to fit our players, it's a lucky coincidence that his scheme matches what our Dline does well.

Tyrod took a paycut. You're right, let's stick with the facts. Players don't take massive paycuts unless they agree that their value is lower.

I'm not against getting a WR 2. I am totally against spending a top ten pick on a WR after already investing 2 #1 draft picks on WR recently. Terrible team building. Not to mention we barely throw Sammy the ball and now we will have another top ten WR blowing up at lack of targets. Bills might want to pass but they have Tyrod who is limited there.

That's why I don't want the Bills to spend another #1 pick on WR after spending 2 #1's recently. It would open the door to Sammy going to New England.

I would take Josh Dobbs in the 4th. My point still stands. If you believe a QB has franchise potential and you can draft them in the 1st you draft them. You don't wait and hope. I know this sounds crazy but this is standard thinking in the NFL. The Bills are unique in that they think they can win with other teams backups at QB. It's a bizarre faith that had kept them out of the playoffs for almost 20 years.

This is a thread where people are discussing the pro and cons of the top QBs a few days before the draft. Fine, make your case for two QBs the Bills should draft instead.
