  1. If you believe a QB can be a franchise QB you don't wait till the 2nd or 3rd round. It's a phrase. Don't take it out of context. Rex deserved to be fired.
  2. Well, you seem to have adopted the Bills philosophy to drafting. I will have to disagree and say you need to run your team with longer term goals in mind then just getting through the year.
  3. I don't get why they have to start. The draft should not be for filling needs for the year but building a team that can win a Superbowl.
  4. I don't think this is clear. Even great QB classes only have 2 or 3 elite prospects. The greatest QB class of the last 20 years was 2004. The Bills watched Eli Manning, Rivers, and Roesthlisberger go before they drafted. Then they decided to get the 4th best prospect in that class, JP Losman. If the plan was to draft a QB in 2018 then why was Tyrod resigned? No, there is no plan. There is no hope in a better class in 2018 because there is no reason to believe the Bills will have a top 5 pick. We'll be picking 8,9, 10, or 11. It's how we roll.
  5. The Bills are a billion dollar franchise who employ a whole array of scouts and front office people. It's THEIR job to go over these QB's and determine who can play. If they pass on a franchise QB then they deserve to be fired and replaced by smarter scouts and coaches.
  6. Rex should have been fired and Tyrod allowed to walk. So neither were good enough. When you have a QB who is limited like Tyrod it leaves no margin for error. That's why better QB play is needed.
  7. So if a guy can become a franchise QB but has to wait a year to start you would not take him? Sounds like you could work for the Bills!
  8. I really think this draft is critical. They pass on a franchise QB this year and they might not get another chance during the McDermott regime.
  9. Correct. The Rex Ryan staff decided to build around Tyrod and "open up the offense" in year 2. It got Roman fired. Lynn dialed back the offense and simplified to help out the QB. Soon Rex Ryan and his staff fell victim to high expectations on a team with no franchise QB. Tyrod came up small time after time against AFC opponents we needed to beat. He is JAG whose play should have been replaced by a cheaper option and not had a contract where Bills have 8,500,000 in dead cap if they cut Tyrod next year.
  10. I see McDermott as the old school coaching type who will not assess risk properly. Just like Marrone and Orton or Gailey and Fitz, McDermott is hitching his wagon to Tyrod. If the Bills don't get a QB in round 1 this year, you are right, McDermott has no margin for error next year. Most likely scenario if we don't get a QB this year is next year will have 2 or 3 great prospects but they will be gone by the time we pick at 8, 9, or 10. Then we end up having to draft a QB not as good as the one we could have taken at 10 this year!
  11. Well, maybe Sean The Wrestler is also a brilliant GM.
  12. If McDermott doesn't get a QB by next year I think he might be fired after next year.
  13. The Bills do things all the time that makes people scratch their heads. I don't think there is an actual long term strategy going on. They tend to just make moves to get through the current year.
  14. What can you say? The Pegulas are slow learners.
  15. For sure. My view is that the Bills are 2 great drafts away from being competitive again. I have a lot of fear with our organizational structure and am really worried McDermott tries to to Jauron his way through the draft.
  16. Williams has already beaten many of the corners that will be drafted to stop him.
  17. And some say Bills are considering spending ANOTHER 1st round pick on WR, after spending 2 on Sammy, with no QB! This team has no clue.
  18. "Pegula showed up with grandiose goals when he arrived and started talking about winning Stanley Cups, but he never really had a plan. He can fire people all he wants, but it does little good unless he hires the right people to replace them. His inability to identify quality people has been a persistent flaw for years and a trademark of his teams." 19. He is a physical beast. He will be a match up nightmare in the NFL.
  20. One person's tank is another person's rebuild!
  21. Yes, just like there are teams in the NFL that run West Coast Offenses yet every team in the NFL has West Coast concepts in their playbook.
  22. Franchise QB is going to be argued about but Carolina certainly views Cam Newton as their franchise QB.
  23. I hate the idea of WR in the first but I love the prospect.
  24. For sure. One person's gunslinger is another person's turnover machine. I don't credit QB's for not throwing INT's if they also don't make plays.
  25. I just lost interest in trying to talk about Air Raid with you. It is an interesting topic but you seem stuck in a different decade. Air Raid concepts are being introduced throughout the college game and NFL. The label Air Raid can be subjective. There are schools running Air Raid concepts that don't get the label.
