The Mike Gillislee deal is a win for the Patriots. He is more valuable than a 5th round pick to a Superbowl contender.
Bills are nowhere close so I'm fine not paying and getting the pick as a rebuild move.
Question is are Bills rebuilding or do they think they are a playoff team?
Funny how the goalposts move. Tyrod scores points but Rex Ryan's defense is not evaluated that way.
Whatever it takes.
And the name of the game is wins. Tyrod has come up small time after time in must win games.
If Sean McDermott really believes in Tyrod Taylor he will have a very short head coaching stint with the Buffalo Bills. Tyrod Taylor is just not good enough. His limited ability to pass the ball is magnified in critical situations such as 2 minute drives and close games in the 4th quarter. This is where games are won and Tyrod doesn't win here. He needs to be protected by a strong running game and favorable down and distance throws. His QB rating is a product of a QB that does not make enough plays in the passing game. He struggles with YAC, and is one of the worst in the NFL at getting his receivers additional yards after they catch it.
Doug Whaley gets a lot of grief here but I side with Doug and not the new coach.
Where is the evidence that a QB going into his 7th year suddenly becomes better? Why is this an argument? If you like TT, fine. But don't tell us he is going to get better.
Buzz and marketing. It also allows Sean to fill needs on the roster while bypassing a top round QB and the Bills can sell a QB later. The plan was probably to sell Cardale as the guy with potential but EJ was so bad they had to open that box before they wanted to.
Even if the Bills needed a DE I think marketing would prevent picking two DE's in consecutive years in the first round. Maybe if they had fired Whaley they could pull it off.
I think Chad Kelly could be the TO signing for 2017. Keep in mind, the Bills always have an angle. When they didn't hire Frank Reich to coach there was only one real move left. Get ready, it's happening.
I would prefer Whaley run the draft room with input from the coaches but I have no confidence this will happen. All the reports coming out are that the new coach is in charge and that scares the hell out of me.
I get that. But every team that hired a new coach will be talking up the new year. Players job is to play. My concern is the lack of vision at the top.
