The Quality from Quantity approach at TE...interesting! Is Evans scheduled to visit? -
DeSean Jackson released
D. L. Hot-Flamethrower replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not that it really matters, but Stevie is not and has not been better than Desean. Using AV over at pro football reference. Last year Jackson was an 11 and Johnson a 5. The last 4 years, Jackson 35 in fewer games and Johnson 31. Career Jackson 58 in 86 games, 10.8 per-season: Johnson 31 in 58 games, 8.5/season. -
DeSean Jackson released
D. L. Hot-Flamethrower replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Our current group doesn't strike fear in anyone! Add Jackson, trade back, pick up another second and draft Ebron, or take a tackle if available. If they take a tackle, use the second and third on Benjamin and a TE. -
DeSean Jackson released
D. L. Hot-Flamethrower replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think all the off the field stuff with Jackson is way overblown. The team has an enormous advantage over the player in this type of situation. The Eagles know they have to win the PR campaign with a very productive player being released outright. It is my suspicion that this has more to do with Chip Kelly. He recruited Jackson to Oregon at one time. Perhaps is of the opinion that DeSean has never bought into his program. The gang stuff is just the window dressing during a breakup. I am sure there are a great many players in the NFL with shady contacts off the field. The Bills should make a reasonable push to get Jackson. He would enable them draft either Ebron, a tackle, or BPA at number 9. Having options is paramount to success! -
Houston looking to trade 1st pick (Buffalo?)
D. L. Hot-Flamethrower replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
An awful big jump according to the draft value chart-something along the lines of 1350 to 3000! I wonder if they could jump that far without trading an additional number one, like next years's. Or just an off the wall idea, maybe trade EJ and this years number one and draft a QB. -

I think its most likely a smokescreen. If not its Robinson,Clowney or Mack. -
Johnny Manziel thread

Johnny Manziel's supposed of the field problem is one of the most overrated sports stories of the past year!!! Are U kidding me? Yawn-the kid is an alpha male. -
Corey Graham to move to FS per Marrone
D. L. Hot-Flamethrower replied to Fingon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes this! And, if you don't believe in having options and flexibility, you don't believe in injuries. I don't get how people don't understand that inexpensive redundancy is good. -
Mike Brown Genius? New strategy with QBs born?
D. L. Hot-Flamethrower replied to DC Grid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is all retrospective thinking, and a very small data sample to draw any conclusions from. It is not predictable that next season or any season, that it will be a younger QB or a higher priced veteran QB that wins the SB. It is not some simple formula that's wins the SB. People seem hell bent on ignoring the randomness of such a small sample. How do you know that it wasn't just well timed luck? ie David Tyree catching a 4th and 30 on the top of his helmet, well-covered. What does make sense is that you have to find bargains, and not overspend for talent, regardless of the position. -
NFL getting "hoggy" according to Mark Cuban
D. L. Hot-Flamethrower replied to CodeMonkey's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I get a kick out of the comment by Adam Silver the NBA Commish, "someday we want to rival the NFL". I have some advice for Silver, cut the schedule in half or more!!!! The NFL and the television industry will keep adding days on the schedule as long as there is demand! When that diminishes because of either oversaturation, reduced product integrity, or changing market interests it will be faced with a crisis. -
You are correct. I remember hearing Coach Marrone, before one of the games, elaborating on the Bills struggles in the RED zone. He stated they had gone back and watched film of the successful teams in this regard. The determination was that all the teams had bigger receivers who could jump, and thus be lobbed to successfully! I think is very telling about what their perceived needs are. Just a hunch, but I think the Bills end up with Evans, Ebron or Benjamin in this draft, depending on which round and who is available at pick 9. They may be raw and require some work, but should still be able to help down near the goal line. Problem reduced! The only way I think Evans, then Ebron is taken with pick 9, and instead Benjamin in round 2 is the following; One of these guys drops and presents too much value: Watkins, Robinson (no-way) or Matthews.

I agree with this. EJ Manuel is a better prospect than ANY of the three right now. I don't see the edge any of them have on him at this point. All EJ needs to do is elevate his game into the middle third of the league this year, if he does-playoffs. The Hierarchy knows that the team around the QB has to improve in some areas. And, after the draft it will be obvious this team is a force to reckon with!

Clearing up some OL Confusion
D. L. Hot-Flamethrower replied to thebandit27's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Super Job! An educated man on these boards is always welcome. I think this also backs up what the eye test shows. Perhaps the most cogent analysis I've seen on these boards. -
I give them a solid B, maybe B+. Spikes helps; Graham, Rivers and Dixon will play significant roles. There seems to be some dispute about C.Williams. I think the team deserves the benefit of the doubt on this one, until otherwise proven wrong. If he is solid, it becomes a B+. Resigning Chandler and Carpenter are no-brainers at the right price. Especially Chandler, you need 2 TEs in this offense. I wouldn't rule out drafting another one.

What I would like to see the Bills do now

I think that is a good call. Watkins or Robinson makes me ecstatic. Unlikley at best though! -
Whaley confirms Kiko is moving to OLB
D. L. Hot-Flamethrower replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We than trade back in the first round and pick up a second. We then take Ebron, Benjamin and Moses from VA to play RT. Or if Lewan falls trade back a couple spots, take hi; TE and deep WR class to pick from in second, and pick they get. -

I would much prefer they go after Shane Skov in the third round. He is 6-2 250, Mosley smallish and injury prone. -
