  1. Wasn't Cardale thought to be a potential top pick after the NCG? We then got more info on him the next season and he dropped to round 4. He has what 9 games started in college, one meaningless NFL game and David Lee F--ing him up for a year. People who think Trubisky has been fully vetted should realize he has 13 games and most NFL scouts don't see him as a franchise guy right now. So go ahead and grab him at the 10the spot. To me he is a second or third rounder after you've drafted a good football player in the first round. Too much risk with any of these guys at 10. Especially with the number of elite players in this draft.
  2. The plan may be to trade down, get picks and take Reddick. Even trade down twice, because this draft is sweet in the 2nd and 3rd rounds, and we have needs.
  3. It seems like everyone ignores that we drafted a project QB last year, and pretty much everyone here thinks that Cardale Jones is garbage already. Hmm interesting how a QB is viewed after one game and a season of crappy coaching. So after he won the Championship, people were clamoring that he could be the top pick in the draft. He went back and we learned more about him and he dropped to the 4th round. Does anyone really know QBs as well as they think they do? A big fat NO!! And, guys like Trubisky with only 1 year of starting and limited info has not been fully vetted either. Don't get me wrong I think you have to take your shots on guys in hopes of landing one. However, acting like a draft, with QBs that the best eyes in the world think have lots of warts, and not taking him at #10 doesn't mean you are a dumb organization. It doesn't mean that the GM and the team are fools. It means they don't think they are worth it, and you know what it's ok. Get a quality football player who can help you for the next 10 years or trade down if the value doesn't match. And, if you don't love a QB at 10, then wait until you have a chance later on in the draft.
  4. Anyone who likes these guys, really shouldn't tell anybody else.
  5. Did you see him against Clemson in the championship game? He was ALL over the field making plays!
  6. One hell of a football player! Everyone should be excited to have him on their team. I have wondered all along if he isn't a guy McD would want because of the Keuchly pick his first year on Carolina. He would look good as the WIL next to Ragland .
  7. Nonsense. He was a top 5 pick for a reason and is still very young. He has yet to reach his peak.
  8. Too much uncertainty for me with any of the top guys. Like you said Cardale is there and it is never a bad idea to add another late round option like Peterman.
  9. I have admired him for awhile as a player. He is a great addition.
  10. In your opinion, not a fact and not dumb to some who believe this QB class is filled with question marks. JMO
  11. Good luck with your philosophy of dealing .....it won't be mine Like the man said
  12. I agree they will take a receiver with #10 if they don't trade back. Don't dismiss Jon Ross though.
  13. Agree but there has to be value in the pick as well. Just forcing another Losman or Manuel is not wise.
  14. I have seen Thomas quite a bit and he jumps out at me as a BIG game changer on D. He would really help McD get the D turned around. But, he'll be gone likely.
  15. Just from looking at the data, and taking into account the heuristic that one year guys are a no no, Mahomes is the top guy and not Trubisky.
  16. No responding to his take that to take a guy in top 10 he needed to see production. Getting OJ Howard would be outstanding as he may well be a top 5 player in this draft.
  17. You don't consider Corey Davis elite? What kind of production are you looking for...200 Rec 2500 Yrds and 30 TDS
  18. Let's guess, Williams, Davis, Howard, Garrett, Lattimore. Yes, it might also be Conley and Harris. Bills were rumored early on to be interested in both. On second thought not Ross, Davis instead.
  19. If he's there at 10......Trade down and get picks.
  20. I would like us to move down to 13 by trading with Arizona (presumably to draft Mahomes). I want #77 back, giving us 13,44,75 and 77. The sweet spot of this draft is in that range. I am on record in this thread as saying I wouldn't trade 44 for Sherman. However, shouid we make the above trade with Arizona that changes, heck even Trapassos idea of Koundjio and 44 is fine. The result is we still have 3 picks, which we need desperately, in the sweet spot of this draft for (WLB or Edge,S, Rec or QB. If we could end up with say Reddick, Sherman, Zay Jones and Derek Rivers that would be sweet. Or heck trade down again and end up with a safety as well. I hope we are creative in the draft.
  21. Whaley was also in attendance per Buscaglia.
