Do you tell the team the outcome of Jags/Titans?
GunnerBill replied to boyst's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes, I would. I'd say guys you are in the dance, the pressure is lifted, now go make a damn statement that says the road goes through Buffalo. -
What are YOU doing to get the Bills into the playoffs?
GunnerBill replied to stevestojan's topic in The Stadium Wall
I am not superstitious as a rule but I moved positions at half time and I went back and sat where I was first half for that final Jags drive. I think someone told Trevor. -
6 of 7 years. I know, I know, when you have a unicorn at QB you set your sights higher. But the only team who can match or beat that record is the Chiefs.

Anyone else have a good feeling about the Titans vs. Jags?
GunnerBill replied to JMM's topic in The Stadium Wall
Told you the Titans would play hard. I didn't expect them to win. And but for the Jags shooting themselves in the foot they wouldn't have won. But I knew they'd play full gas. It is just who Vrabel is. -

I think there is a coaching element to it, and I am happy to have that conversation but just saying "coaching" isn't an answer to anything. -

So you think it is coaching? What precisely? Play calling? Scheme? What? I am struggling to see where you are going with it. -

I don't think we have been through it. Why do you think the offense is underperforming? -

I think the offense has underperformed. No question. The fact the Bills made an OC change is further demonstration of that. Bad playcalling. Drops. Turnovers. And some inconsistent Quarterbacking. It is all in the mix as to the reason why. There is no one single reason. -

I am not sure it is preparing to cope in this instance so much as it is playing the odds and saying if you can't beat a weakened Miami what are the chances you beat a stronger version next week? And then genuinely that few spots in the draft order might be the difference between being in position for that playmaking receiver we all think we need or not. Again, I'd rather be in and say even if the odds are against us take our shot. But I don't agree that the alternative reasoning is stupid. I see where those people are coming from. -

I agree but I do sorta see the logic. If the Bills can't beat Miami tonight with Waddle and Mostart sitting how are they beating them in Miami next week with both of them back? I know any given Sunday and all but feels like that stage they would be a bit wing and a prayer. I'd still rather be in than not. But I understand the thinking that if we can't win tonight it is better to try and pick 19th or 20th in the draft than 22nd or 23rd. Especially with where that second tier of receivers (after Harrison who is alone in tier 1) - Nabers, Odunze, Coleman - might come off the board. I know there are some people who don't even want to think draft yet, and that is fine. But it is the time of year when my mind turns to it regardless of whether the Bills are in or out. -
Anyone else have a good feeling about the Titans vs. Jags?
GunnerBill replied to JMM's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yea I think they will care. I just think they are bad. I expect a close first half and Jacksonville pull away just enough in the second. 26-16 something like that. -

I don't see Mike Vrabel coaching like that. I think Jacksonville will win. But I don't think it will be any lack of effort on TEN's part. They will give them everything they have. They just are not very good. -
Anyone else have a good feeling about the Titans vs. Jags?
GunnerBill replied to JMM's topic in The Stadium Wall
No they are not. But they are an 11 win team going into week 18. So the Bills would have to have been a 13 win team going into week 18 with the potential to be a 14 win team for there to be no possibility the division is in play today. And I have already explained why I don't look at this roster and see a 14 win team this year. -

Still disagree. It is not good that we haven't clinched the playoffs by now. But the reason the division is still in play today is that Miami has been good. -
Sounds like most Sundays on TSW. Win or lose.

I agree to an extent on Nico. Tank can play though. To me he can do everything Zay Flowers can do and was a 3rd round pick not a first rounder.

I don't love the status quo. But I don't see a better solution. And until I am persuaded there is a better alternative I'd be minded to stick with what we have.

Bills at Dolphins: Thursday injury reports
GunnerBill replied to Peace Frog's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't think they will rest key guys from the off but if the Bills jumped out to a lead I could totally see them going into self-preservation mode. It's a "take the ball" game if you win the toss for me. Try and get out to a start and see how much Miami wants to win the division with their beat up players. EDIT: equally in a world where the Jags have lost and the Bills are already in I'd say the same about us. Play while it is a tight game. But if Miami is up two scores mid 3rd Qrtr... pull our guys. -
List of players under contract and Free Agents in 2024
GunnerBill replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall
If the only options are he plays on his current deal or we cut him that is a really obvious decision. You cut him. But they are not the only two options. I think the Bills should and will try and find a way to do a pay cut deal with Tre. Then it comes down to what does he want to do. There are reasons to believe that it is in his interests to be here in 2024. -
Playoff Lenny Ready to Roll in Miami
GunnerBill replied to ChevyVanMiller's topic in The Stadium Wall
I disagree. But I also think how productive Johnson has been is overstated. But this should be for Murray. Who has had a great career but looks every inch his 107 years old at the moment. -

Playing the run is not a strength, agreed. But his biggest weakness is his transitions. Always has been. It is why he excels in man coverage and struggles in what should be the comparatively easier discipline of playing zone. You have to be able to go from dropping to attacking in an instant and he can't. His long limbs kinda get in his own way. -
They are. But only moderately. They are still a bottom 3rd of the league Oline. Otherwise.... I wouldn't swap McDermott for Taylor. And sure, they drafted Chase 5th overall. They also drafted Higgins 33rd overall. Give them credit for those two picks. But their last six day 1 and 2 picks have been defense. I think your perception that they have prioritised offense massively more than Buffalo is slightly off.
