  1. I'm not a TD basher but I think Chargers are posied to make another playoff. What's your beef with them? Marty?
  2. What a relief! I was worried we were going to enter the preseason with Mattthews(sp) as our #2. Things are moving in a positive direction.
  3. d Don't you think JJ durability was the reason TD did not make an attempt to resign him? He has been injured every year and throwing huge $ at a plaler who has a tendency miss games may not be the wisest way to spend our finite resources.
  4. Exactly. Travis would have played better last year if that theory is true enhancing his trade value for this offseason. That fact that teams are not banging down the door trying to sign a quality RB like TH has to make you wonder.
  5. Why pay 5 million for a 33 year DT when his repalcement is sitting on the bench? We need to sign OL help, especially with a "rookie" QB starting next year and the loss of JJ. Phat Pat will be missed but he is not irreplaceable, especially at $5 mil/year.
  6. Rich, quit making so much dam sense! I've always felt the best way to build a contender is primarily through the draft. In the long run it is cheaper and more sustainable than simply throwing big $ at free agents every year, most who are close to or past their prime. Look at the Washington Redskins for example. Year after year they throw dop dollars at free agents like a drunken sailor at a whore house, but where has that got them? On the other hand you have the NE Patriots who sign "lesser" talents and draft wisely and have won 3 of the past 4 Super Bowls. I too have more hope going into the 2005 season did I did in '04. I will miss JJ/PW but we can recover from their departures.
  7. Well at least he'll have 3 rings to console himself!
  8. I'm surprised they let him go. I know he is getting up in age, but role players like that are essential. Did he count that much toward the cap or did his contract expire?
  9. I can't believe any team would consider Warner as a starter. The guy has turned into a turnover factory! He fumbles more than Tony Banks.
  10. Just say no to Kordell We need a QB that actually knows how to throw the ball. My grandma has more arm strength than KS does!
  11. God forgive me, I just voted for Jay Fiedler!
  12. That happens to be my favorite song off the album. I haven't kept pace with Ted for many years. The last couple of studio albums he put out after the live album all began to sound the same to me. I saw him in concert at least 5 times, and I agree he is an extremely talented guitar player. Not only does he have chops but the sounds he coaxes out of his guitar are awesome. It's good to see that he still "shreds" it up.
  13. I used to be a big Ted fan back in the day. I still would put Double Live Gonzo in my top 10 favorites list.
  14. I wonder if he still performs in a loin cloth?
  15. I loved how he opend with something from Rubber Soul (Drive My Car). Like other posters I would have prefered he ended with Live and Let Die which was pretty high energy. This years halftime show definetly beat the crotch crabbing gibberish they have been pawning off on us the past few years.
  16. No Simon you are not over protective, just being a sensible parent. Our oldest child, is also a girl (8 yrs old) and I can already see the day coming when my wife and I will have to contend with these issues. I've already told my daughter I am prepared for her to hate me until she is an adult. At 8 she already is agitating to wear makeup and clothes I do not find acceptable.
  17. I'm partial to Guinness nectar of the gods!
  18. That was the most profound thing you've said and it only took 1 sentence!
  19. Do you work for the Federal government? Most agencies have an exit interview process. If you have not had one, try to request a meeting with your immediate supervisor to find out the reasons for your termination. It could simply be a matter of budget and not a performance issue. It is much easier and cheaper to let go a probationary employee than to fire/layoff a an employee with tenure who would due a severance package. I would also contact the human resources department for information. Good luck.
  20. Did Joe Nameth just try to kiss Bob Kraft?
  21. They looked great on paper though.
  22. I agree kicking the fg makes no sense to me when down 2 touchdowns.
  23. That is an intriguing question. You would think losing both coordinators would have a negative impact, especially since most if not all the top assistant propects have been hired by other teams already. Of greater importance is the head coach BB who is head and shoulders above the competition right now. Considering he is defense master mind, the loss of Crennel (sp) proably will not hurt that much. The loss of Weiss could have an impact on Brady in that he may have to learn a new system next year. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out.
