  1. Well I certainly do not know what Jerry loves more - being filthy rich or being a media whore. I lived in Baltimore at the time when the colts left for Indianapolis, Baltimore was absolutely devastated by it. I'm sure Browns fans were just as much when the team moved to Baltimore. Hopefully the majority of NFL owners have a sense of NFL history or allegiance to Buffalo and are willing to here viable options to keep the Bills in Buffalo.
  2. I didn't pay much attention to Sammy before the draft because I didn't think we would draft him. I checked out his highlights on youtube a couple of days ago. I recommend checking them out if you haven't done so. He is a very versatile player and there are several ways to get him involved. Plus we have Williams and Woods who are pretty good too.
  3. I did not mean to suggest something sinister. I believe Brown will be given an opportunity to showcase his talents and the Bills will evaluate. I agree with you that all 3 will play. There may be a shift though in the Bills philosophy on the number of carries and the situations in which these RBs will be used. I don't think they traded for Brown to use him the way they used Tashard Choice which was infrequently.
  4. Pretty much spot on. The Bills really wanted this guy. That was a lot of persistence for a 'third string" back. Nothing against Freddie or CJ but this means something and I believe sooner rather than later. Freddie had a good year last year but he was the oldest running back last year in the league. Yeah I know he has more tread than most guys his age but father time is catching up. Spiller won't or can't run between the tackles the way Marrone wants. I know he had a high ankle sprain but the guy gets dinged up pretty regularly. The bills brought in plenty of RBs for predraft visits so the trade for Brown is a telltale sign that something is up.
  5. I believe the Bills grew tired of Stevie's antics and decided they did not want him as a leader of a young football team. I further believe the Bills felt that the contract was too rich in regards to his production. They probably were disappointed in his untimely drops and fumbles which cost them wins (Steelers game that went into OT, last years opening game against NE, and the Atlanta game.) They wanted a true #1 in talent, dependability, and commitment to winning and pulled the trigger in getting Watkins and in turn saying goodbye to Stevie.
  6. Desean Jackson is 5'10" and has been to 3 pro bowls in 6 years. Let's give Sammy a shot and see what happens.
  7. Man, you are not drinking the Whaley Kool Aid. You are making it and chugging it! You may even be using a funnel too! I love your optimism and hope you are spot on. I'm going to wait and see some preseason action and then try to assess. I'm still trying to digest all of the picks and trades that the Bills did the last 3 days.
  8. I stopped watching ESPN a long time ago for any type of analysis. I usually come to this forum to hear about whomever. Too many of these media types are just saying something to stir the pot so to speak. I know this sounds pretty negative but I don't think the Bills will get any lovin until they win a Super Bowl. I'm ok with that.
  9. I saw Polian on ESPN and he wasn't sure trading up for Watkins was worth it. He posed it as follows "Why not stay put at 9 and take Beckham?" Is the difference between Watkins and Beckham that great to justify the trade up for Watkins?" A valid question but ultimately comes down to your overall gut. Overall I like the Bills draft and hopefully Watkins turns out to be the stud that most people envision.
  10. A better way to put it, Whaley was aggressive and willing to take calculated risks whereas Nix was almost too conservative. Marv took some gambles ( Whitner, and free agent signings of Langston Walker and another guy (help)) that were outright bombs. Marv was in over his head and perhaps Nix too. We'll see about Whaley but he was up at the plate swinging.
  11. Had the same thought
  12. Teams usually have 9 OL on the 53 man roster and dress 7 for game day. I think Glenn and Cyrus K. will be starting tackles. Williams and Urbik will be starting guards. Wood will be starting center. Cyril Richardson and McClain will be reserve guards. Hairston and Henderson as reserve tackles hopefully.
  13. Hopefully score td's and win!
  14. What??? This is the best crap I read in a long time!
  15. What is interesting to me regarding this list - they were all drafted high in the first round by their original team. You are correct though there are ways to get a qb other than the draft.
  16. I tend to favor in keeping Johnson and hopefully Cleveland will pick 25 next year with our pick.
  17. That's why i'll be watching on NFL Network.
  18. MD is only 24 and just made his first pro bowl. The guy may be a dumba$$ but he is starting to really come on. The Bills need playmakers on either side of the ball. I believe Donald is one of the playmakers in this year's draft.
  19. I really enjoyed the Patriots first Super Bowl. Da Bears crushed them.
  20. If you pick a QB every year, doesn't that perpetuate the QB experiment?
